  • Xbow is definitely high skill. You misplace the xbow by just one tile or just one second late and you loose your chance to lock on or defend correctly. I completely get how it can be annoying to play against but honestly it’s not as annoying as people make it to be. Certainly not as bad as a spawners deck.

    @needsmorecows9753@needsmorecows97534 жыл бұрын
    • not only that, if you misplace your tesla just by 1 tile, you are probably going to lose. Same with the 1 elex skeletons, it's quite hard to surround a troup with them.

      @Deus_iusticia@Deus_iusticia4 жыл бұрын
    • You take 1 second more to deploy your troop and boom it’s locked and now the guy is spamming things on the bridge to defend it and there is nothing you can do about it. When you finally manage to take it out guess what, there is another XBow on the arena, and if you aren’t quick enough, it locks again. When you are placing the XBow, you don’t have any pressure on you, you can basically take as much time as you want but defending it is different. I agree with the Tesla, but if you ice spirit and skeleton, and then fireball and/or zap it destroys almost any push and can redirect the troop you were trying to defend in the first place to a Tesla. If you are facing XBow and don’t have a restart card, when you make a mistake it locks and there’s nothing you can do.

  • Thanks for this video Ash! These long videos that are very in-depth and sort of a 1-stop video to learn how to play a deck are my absolute favorite out of all the ones you do. This one is also great because I’m a xbow player around the 6400-6600 trophy ranged, making it crucial to learn all kinds of little interactions to beat some pretty good players. All in all, this was my favorite video and favorite format on your channel, really great video.

  • And it is........ Lemontree! I’m so glad you brought him on the channel, and 47 minutes as well. GG edit: reached the point where you asked what you would rank xbow. I’d rank it #1 highest skilled, or somewhere up there. As a 2.9 xbow player I know How hard it is to play. I’ve also had some succes with it on ladder getting to 7000 trophies 2 times (and soon to be 3 xd). It takes incredibly long to learn the deck, I have probably played 5000+ matches with it and I’m nowhere near lemontree’s skill. Edit #2: the matchup at 38:00 is very easy btw (it looks even easier when lemontree is playing)

  • Hey Ash, just wanted to say this format is a great way to learn about a specific archetype. The length is fantastic and it can never be too long for anyone trying to learn as the more battles that are shown, the more matchups and different archetypes can be taught against the "featured" deck. I hope you keep making videos like this! P.S: I suggest getting a prince rascals bait pro to show us how to play against different matchups! Honestly any archetype to learn is great, just wanted prince rascals bait because I play it ;) Cheers!

  • The problem with cycle decks like xbow or 2.6 hog isn't that they aren't high skill. It's that the skill barrier to entry is so low. There are so many braindead players who just speed cycle everything with no purpose and catch you without counters. Good players will beat them because they literally just throw away elixir but it takes no skill and is very annoying to face and that's why I think it gets a bad rap.

  • Yes. Please. More of this exact type of content. Please. Been watching every video on your channel for over a year now, and this was easily my favourite content you put out in that timeframe. Would love to see Yerson next. Please? I would honestly love 2-hour videos of just straight content by the best players, with good commentary like in this video, but I will settle for 45-minute ones if I have to :3 Also, my take on the whole high skill vs low skill debate, is that 2.9 X-Bow is difficult to play, but also difficult to play against. If they lock on to your tower once, it’s pretty much over. So in that sense, it’s pretty easy to lose to it. That doesn’t make it an easy deck to play of course, but I can see why non-2.9 players might think that.

    @jeroenstolp6907@jeroenstolp69074 жыл бұрын
  • about the high-skill/low-skill question, i think it is one of the most (if not THE most) high-skill archetypes in the game, it takes tons of practice, you have to learn different basics according to what deck you're playing against and there's a lot of precision involved, specific placments, etc.. but, at the same, once you've learned all this stuf and feel comfortable with the deck, it becomes the easiest choice (and this might be what people who say x-bow 2.9 is a low-skill deck is trying to say), because even the hardest match ups are winnable as long as you focus on defense and spellcycling without making mistakes.

    @Diosoh@Diosoh4 жыл бұрын
  • sure it's "high skill". The real question is the skill cap of decks/cards. The skill cap on xbow is literally ten fold compared to beatdown and control decks; meaning that it takes a lot of time to master, but once mastered (like lemontree has) it's extremely broken and can beat any other deck on top ladder due to the nature of the card. It has no real "hard counter", must be responded to, and is played from the opponents side of the bridge. All of these factors heavily disrupt the usual style of clash royale gameplay which is why so many people get annoyed with the card (including myself). Once completely mastered, this deck cannot lose if played perfectly.

    @boots911@boots9114 жыл бұрын
    • Royal giant and lightning, golem beatdown, giant sparky, and hog earthquake are all extremely hard counters to 2.9. To win with 2.9 against these decks u don’t need to just play perfectly, u need the opponent to make mistakes too. Not many other decks in the game require perfect gameplay and mistakes from the opponent to win.

      @catastrophe6690@catastrophe66904 жыл бұрын
    • I see your point but i disagree, X-bow is counter sensitive . Yes, not many counters but a bad match-up like a giant or (lava/golem players who ignore your xbow and go all in and will at least result in a tower trade and xbow is useless when you lose a princess tower) will almost always result in a lose regardless of how good you are.

      @ht6893@ht68934 жыл бұрын
    • @@mikeymicros4676 if a beat down player who plays perfectly goes against an x-bow player who plays perfectly, the xbow will always win. Which is why lemon tree can get top 5 every season so easily.

  • I'd actually like to disagree with you on the Xbow skill cap. I've been playing it for 2 months to understand the archetype better and I'd actually say its pretty low skill. Every card you play is on your side of the arena. You never cross the bridge and redirect all the cards your opponent has so they cant touch your towers. For me, I see it a cowardice deck more than a skillful deck.

There was nothing my opponent could do, and I had 0 experience with the xbow playstyle. I just got one lock on, took out a chunk of the tower's health, then defended and spell cycled the tower to 0.
