What is it like to travel to the Arctic?

Our travel expert Sue talks about her experiencing travelling to the Arctic.
“Fingers crossed, I have never sent someone to Spitsbergen in the summer months and they haven’t seen polar bears. Seeing your first bear is an amazing experience. They are magnificent. But in 2025, the government in Svalbard are bringing in regulations that will stop visitors from getting within 500 metres of a polar bear. It’s currently 150 metres, so that’s going to make a very big difference to the overall experience.”
