Princess Anne is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, born on 15 August 1950 at Clarence House in London.
Known for her no nonsense attitude, the princess has garnered a very well-deserved reputation for hard work, and commitment to her charitable causes.
Her elder brother’s role was, of course, predestined, but hers was not. With slim chances of ever wearing the crown, Anne was left to figure out her own destiny.
We take a look back at the life and passions of the young Princess, from her life as a little girl in England, tending to her ponies, to her time as an accomplished Olympic Equestrian. We take a royal tour around her romances, separations and scandals, as the young Anne sets about becoming the princess royal.

  • There's just something about her that draws people in. She also told the reporters to naff off so there's that. Would have made a wonderful queen.

  • I have followed the Princess Royale since eary childhood. We are the exact same age(born the same year with only a 2 month difference). I admire her practical, and direct no-nonsense attitude. So many have state that Anne is better suited to the monarchy than Charles. I agree but that is not to be. I pray God's blessings upon her and her family.

  • Princess Anne seems admirable in many ways and a person who gives careful consideration to her choices. As a member of the Royal Family she has 'earned her keep' as she is loyal and hardworking. I admire her equestrian achievements and I am amazed by her kidnap story - Princess Anne is a tough cookie! The UK is lucky to have her as a representative of the Royal Family.

  • What a fantastic life the Princess Royal has had thus far. She is devoted to the job and duty, her own family and being of service to others. I really don’t understand those who carry on about the family being out of touch and not necessary. It just shows their complete ignorance of the work they actually do. The PR is the perfect combination of both parents personalities and strong points. The PR is the one I have admired since I first became aware of them when I was a youngster.

  • To this day at 70+ she is the hardest working Royal, and yet she lives a rather normal home life. Her living room isn’t lavish but instead has all of the details of a homey living room, her property is a working farm to pay for the house, and she raised her children without titles allowing them to stay further out of the spotlight than titled members.

Besides, the Queen would NOT have allowed that particular footage to be released to the public if that was the case.

  • The queen gave Anne the princess Royal title. Due to the envy around Diana. The post gad been empty for 16+ years. Many if the royals did not like Diana. Anna was not liked by the public. She in turn made it clear she had no time for Diana. So many people do not understand the remarkable work of Charles for many years. The prince's trust. His work on climate change and the environment to name just a few. Anne has always cut ribbons, horse riding etc. I can admire that she stayed with her mother in her final days. However many people would. want to that luxury.

I like to imagine that they would have spent some time with the Queen Mother who wouldn't have been very old herself. Maybe even visited family at Glamis. • Because she kicked a dog when she was about 4? That's logical. Of course, you also think she's 'rude and arrogant' so, I would suspect you never actually liked her in the first place. Not even enough to learn that she's not rude or arrogant, even. It wasn't like she ran up and kicked the dog when was 30. She was only a little kid. Cut her some slack. You wouldn't be this upset if she'd kicked her mother.
