      @theregalproletariat@theregalproletariat2 жыл бұрын
    • @@darkprince56 sure, but humans didn't really do much evolving in civilization, it was all pre farming. Hunter gatherers lived pretty chill lives, they certainly didn't have 8 hour work days because they really didn't need to. Their day to day was basically get food, eat food, socialize and some weren't involved with food collection at all with wood and bone carving for example being a common and totally unrequired for survival task. There was certainly hard work that was done but no where near the same amount that we do on a day to day basis (by hard work, I mean mental was well as physical).

    • They're actually dangerously close to a good take with that one. Society is sadder now because women (in nuclear families) have to work outside of the home just like their husbands. Capitalists appropriated feminism to justify making both parents (in a nuclear family) work full-time outside of the home instead of just one. The actual thing feminists wanted being, of course, that either the husband or the wife could be the one with a day job. Imagine how much happier everyone would be if wages weren't depressed and most families could live off of the income of one adult - regardless of the gender of the breadwinner.

My dad unknowingly psychologically abused me and is trying his hardest to repair his relationship with me, my mum divorced him and started her own successful business, and my brother had severe autism which was made worse every time my parents attempted to fit into the norm. It wasn't until the divorce and them straying from traditional norms and the "Family unit" that my brother started to get better, my mum started to explore her own personality, and my dad started to change and become substantially better. These are the same people who complain about girls these days having daddy issues, yet they clearly either have severe repressed parental issues themselves and are blaming marxism on it, or have no ability to put themselves in the shoes of others and understand their mould doesn't apply to everyone.

  • At school the teacher was teaching us about businesses. I was excited because my father owned a company which I wanted to take over one day. Then the teacher brought up worker co-ops. I immediately began to get nervous. The teacher singled me out and asked "what's your opinion on worker co-ops" Should I lie? Should I tell her what she wants to hear? No. I mustered up all the courage I could and said "Um I don't think worker co-ops would work. It doesn't make sense for every janitor and waitress to be making important decisions. Also it undermines the important work and innovations great men like my father do." "Oh..." The teacher looked shocked. The atmosphere of the room completely changed. Everyone in the class gave me dirty looks. Should I have lied? On the bus ride home I kept hearing people talk about me behind my back. Saying I'm not a comrade and my father is a capitalist pig. Then a group of students assaulted me on the bus. They stole all my money to "reclaim the value of their parents labour". I screamed out to the bus driver for help. As the bus driver turned around to see what was going on I got a look at his face. It was Karl Marx. "Don't worry", he exclaimed menacingly. "You won't be needing money where we're going." I looked out the windows and saw the bus drive passed my house. "Wait!" I yelled. "You passed my house". I looked out the window again and my heart sunk. There was a sign with an arrow pointing forward that read "GULAG this way" I looked down at my hands and noticed I was in hand cuffs. In a panic I glanced around and realized everyone else was also in chains. Then I noticed who the other passengers on the bus were. Jeff Bezos, Martin Shkreli, Elon Musk. They were all great intelligent men who have been stripped of their humility, integrity and wealth. Then I noticed something I wish I hadn't. I looked at the man sitting next to Mike Bloomberg. It was my father. He was curled up in a ball, muttering to himself about some sociologist that convinced him that worker co-ops were a superior business model. "I never should have believed him" he cried. "Sociology isn't a real science. All the studies he showed me came from San Francisco. Everyone knows San Francisco is a leftist city. What was I thinking" Tears began to well up in my eyes. I looked out my window again and saw Vaush hanging on the edge of the bus. As soon as we made eye contact I knew it was too late. He smashed through the window and started aggressively offering me puberty blockers. I kept saying I didn't want them and that I was too young to make that kind of decision but he wouldn't listen and tried to force feed as I screamed for help. I woke up in a cold sweat. It was all a dream. My father ran into my room and asked if I was okay. "Dad?" I asked nervously. "Yes honey?" He responded with a worried gaze. "Would you ever think of turning your business into a worker cooperative?" I asked. He laughed. "Is that what this is all about? Don't worry. That would never happen. Even if I thought one of my workers was planning on running a union or was asking to compare wages with other workers, I would fire them on the spot." I immediately felt a sense of relief come over me. Then I went back to bed and slept like a baby. God bless capitalism.

    • Wrong! The state shrank in the 1950s - when compared to previous eras. This was mostly because of war spending and 1930s demand management policies - which required major state action and spending. Yes there were 1950s infrastructure projects as part of rebuilding - even USA which was not invaded or bombed needed such work - as things had been neglected. The trend was for less tax and spend in the 1950s. That is the measure we have to go by. If you have another measure - such as one you made up or one you feel must or could be true - please tell us how you came by this model? Also, states grew in the Reagen-Thatcher era of supposed Neo-Liberalism. When taken as a whole, the tax and spend of a nation like the UK grew during the era of 'scaling back'. Tax and spend was 38p in the £ when Thatcher became PM. 11 yrs later it was nearly 42p in the £ - despite massive global boom, oil revenues and revenues from sell-offs. Facts are what you should deal in, not suppositions or reflections on the dominant narrative. This skews the myths of left and right.

      @damianbylightning6823@damianbylightning68236 жыл бұрын
    • mudpuddlestruck bylightning The state shrank in the 50s? As soon as WW2 finished, we were already in a Cold War with the Soviet Union. McCarthyism, spying and espionage are huge expanses the state made, no? Also, as Eisenhower said (who was president most of the decade), the military industrial complex was growing, which made the state prioritize military expenditure over domestic spending. You also have to consider the fact that the state had a far bigger say in the economy than today. And do you want to know how our model works? Simple. You pay for your society's expenses through taxation. You pay taxes or else you get nothing from us. Also, the neoconservativism of the Reagan-Thatcher Era was based on the belief that anything that can be privatized should be, including industries that are inherently unprofitable. This led to monopolies growing and they could charge whatever they wanted. Also, something you left out is that before 1980, around the time neoconservativism took over, wages grew with productivity. In 1980, productivity continues to increase just as it had done before, but wages stagnate. You know how people in America are demanding a $15 living wage? If wages didn't stagnate, they could be upwards of $20 an hour. Also, taxes wouldn't be too much of a problem as money loses value due to inflation, among other factors, if people were getting paid enough to pay these taxes. And when leftists talk about raising taxes, they mean on the rich. When conservatives raise taxes, they cut them for the rich and increase them for the poor. Two prime examples were Thatcher's poll tax and Cameron's bedroom tax.

    • Oh do read the figures. They are not the only story - but they should be the foundation of your conclusion. Both left and right are stuck in their narratives. This is only important for in-group identity and personal identification with a set of ideas. Reality exists independent of these things. You may learn that when your balls finally drop. Btw Ike was right. What of it? Thatcher was wrong. What of it? The state grew exponentially under Thatcher. Tax and spend up, central power up. Does that not challenge your narrative? Does that not give you pause for thought? Ike provided the most experienced voice on military policy and history paradigms, in relation to growth of state power on the back of experts - not some lefty windbag paranoiac. Does that not challenge your narrative? No, thought not. Stick to narratives and try to keep them separate from evidence and reality. It's safer that way. I ke good, Maggie bad is even too crude. Take the long view and try to be as dispassionate as you can.

    @YadonTheCat@YadonTheCat8 жыл бұрын
    • +Doom2Guy After hearing multiple responses from antigay people, I have narrowed it down to two possible reasons: 1) Traditionalism. The traditional nuclear family is a man, a woman, and at least one child. Humans cannot have children unless a man inseminates a woman. Since a homosexual couple cannot have children without artificial intervention, they must be against families because, in their minds, only straight couples with children can be considered a family. This argument focuses more on maintaining traditional social norms than actually hating gay people. 2) Homophobia. Fear can be a very useful response when it comes to dealing with possible threats or dangers. Phobias, on the other hand, are harmful because they take fear to extremes and are, by definition, completely irrational. People can develop phobias for basically anything. Hell, I was arachnophobic until a couple years ago. Usually phobias form due to bad experiences involving the source of fear, or the phobia develops after hearing incredibly negative things about the source. Once a homophobe develops their fear of gays, they will use just about any reason they can think of to justify their fear. One thought I constantly had that reinforced my arachnophobia was that I thought that spiders moved in a disgusting way. For homophobes, the "destruction of the family" is just one of many justifications. There are more reasons than just those two, but the ones I listed stick out the most to me. Of course I don't mean to argue for their homophobia, I'm just listing a couple of their reasons.

The BNP was not saying people who support an ethno-jewish state are destroying the family and using academia to push for critical theory. They were talking about Jewish people. This is why words matter and you need to look at what people are saying. If someone is calling themselves "anti-zionist", they could be engaging with and rejecting zionism. Or they could be using that as a smokescreen to hide their antisemitism. In this video, the subjects were doing the second.

  • On the whole “Women were happier when they didn’t have rights, now that they do, they’re miserable” crap, it's more like women are actually allowed to voice their displeasure now without being shamed or beaten for it. People are assuming that just because women said they were happier back then meant they really were. When the reality is that if they expressed any displeasure with their lives, they'd be labeled a shrew, a nag, a bad wife and mother, ungrateful, unchristian, etc. It could even result in being committed to a mental institution and they weren't exactly sensitive to the needs of people in institutions back then. They were discouraged and sometimes not allowed to work and own property to support themselves, meaning they were dependent on the mercy of their husbands to not dump them on the street or commit them to an institution. Domestic violence wasn’t prosecuted as much either, and marital rape was just straight up legal. So of course they didn’t want to say they were unhappy and possibly offend their husbands. Better to just numb the pain with a shitton of drugs, put on a fake smile and get to stay in your home. Not exactly what I'd call "happier." Also did this dude really spell his own name wrong?

Western culture values social introspection, to make sure we create the best possible society. You can't have that when one small group is ruling over everyone else. Thus, we discuss society and try to create equity and equality. Why would you think "Western Civilization" is so great, but hate all of the ideas it produces? Oh, right. • Bram van der Hoeven Well i was one of Sargon's sycophants back in the day and it was a slow change. I heard different opinions online, like from say hbomberguy, and I did my own research. Back then i didnt do any kind of research, I barely read, and so I just listened to Sargon's talking points and just nodded my head in approval. I was young and dumb and I'm kind of ashamed that I was that stupid. There was also that whole Garret thing where the guy made a pretty in depth video trying to disprove what Sargon said in a video, and Sargon's response wasnt to calmly explain himself or have some sort of intellectual debate, no, he proceeded to blast the guy for making a long well thought out video that was completely respectful to him, while Carl makes 5+ streams and expects everyone to watch them. And with gamergate i noticed a pretty sharp right wing ideology seeping in that i was never too keen on, that and i actually watched sarkesians videos and found them to be pretty mild and inoffensive, and now it doesn't bother me that people wanna make art games. It's not my thing, but im not gonna complain about it.

    • Jurgen Alright, cultural Marxism (or the Frankfurt School or Critical Theory) was invented by communists during the interwar period to think of ways of establishing communism within society without a class revolt or armed revolution. It was mainly after seeing how it ended up in the Soviet Union under Stalin, so it was trying to disassociate communism and Marxism from Stalinism. The reason why it's called "Cultural" Marxism was because it's main argument was that mainstream culture was imposed by the capitalist class for the masses to passively consume. So "Cultural Capitalists" if you will

      @irishdc9523@irishdc95236 жыл бұрын
    • A ploy to subvert citizens into accepting the Marxist ideologies(communism/socialism). Unlike traditional Marxism which focuses on economics, cultural Marxism focuses on culture and maintains that all human behaviour is a result of culture (not hereditary/race/biology) and thus malleable. That's why it has a strong foothold amongst the social justice types, who argue that subjects such as race and gender are "social constructs". It's easier to manipulate a society if you convince them that all of their behaviour is influenced by "social constructs". Cultural Marxists will decry that the dominance heirachy is a social construct, when the truth is that it is deeply ingrained within our own biology as a means of survivalism. So if the heirachy is a falsehood, that must mean communism is worth trying, since, in the Utopian communist society, everyone is on equal footing, and no-one will feel bad because we're all on a level playing field. Unfortunately human nature defies that rather touching sentiment, so it will never work out. Edit: grammatical errors

    • It was just a sneer term made up by Marxist in the Frankfurt School to target other Marxist for not being Marxist enough because they wanted to go after capitalism in culture rather then the orthodox way of classes in capitalistic societies. That's really all there is to it. It's not as impressive of an origin story as the reactionary and alt-right branches want you to believe.

      @Lightwolf234@Lightwolf2345 жыл бұрын
    • @@user-og6hl6lv7p Except that's bullshit and there's tons of research that shows the exact opposite... Marx was probably right about a lot of it. Personally I don't care about SJW stuff and I don't think most people care about it, it's just scary for hard core conservatives and people who like to feel like a victim for being looked down on by others. The problem is a lot of people have a poor understanding of human history or anthropology. It's clearly demonstrated that throughout the ages humans have always helped one another regardless of whether it gives them something in immediate return, we tend to look up to those who preform selfless acts. It's literally how we got to where we are today by cooperating and doing things for the betterment of our little society or tribe, to ensure everyone is taken care of, the elderly are taken care of because they did all the work while we were young etc. People are taught their whole life that the world is cruel, human nature is horrible and we tend to focus on how evil we are all the time, capitalists like to imprint their own beliefs onto others who would not normally share those same beliefs. They want people to think it's a dog eat dog world "and because _I_ like to fight with people to get the most money out of everyone, so should you!". Marx predicted most of this stuff. Our entire education from childhood largely reflects this bourgeois perspective that aids them by making it more difficult to question these core beliefs we're lead to believe are true despite research showing it's not that simple. For thousands of years there have CERTAINLY always been bad people who try to do the least and put themselves in a position where they benefit the most from society without really doing anything and these people are called the ruling class, or the ruling elite, or bourgeois, etc. In medieval days they were the lords, kings, priests now they're mostly capitalists (btw the capitalists killed off the medieval lords in violent revolutions). They convinced the populous that they NEED them to survive and without them they would be killed by invaders or something. The ruling class really tricks people into thinking the work they do is _so_ difficult and specialized that nobody else can replace them. This is the same argument capitalists use today. They make essentially all the same arguments as the medival leaders like "This is the natural order of the world" "Going against us ruling class would run against human nature, the lords and priests are always SUPPOSED to rule the peasants" "Our feudal society has been around for thousands of years why change it now? It must be pretty good if it's been around this long, we've got nothing better, right?"
