Maeklong Railway Market | Bangkok Thailand

Maekhlong Train Market. The Maeklong Train Market (ตลาดแม่กลอง) is a most unusual market because a train passes through the market four times a day. Maeklong Railway Market is certainly unique. The market is a day trip from Bangkok and definitely worth a visit. The most popular tour is a combined Damnoen Saduak Market and Maeklong Railway Market tour: gyg.me/xBooZogJ
When the train comes through, the market vendors leap into action to roll back their awnings and push their stalls out of the way of the oncoming train. As soon as the train passes, the stalls are pushed back into place and it’s business as usual.
Here’s a tip. Maeklong Railway Market can get pretty crowded so if you want a good vantage point of the train, grab a seat in one of the local cafes and order a coffee or tea while you wait.

Don't see the reverse happening that easily where all those sellers said let's setup market on both side of the tracks and government agrees to this. would be good to know the history of this railway market.
