Bro really and truly Shias started off as a political movement it wasn’t even religious. However Islam is free from politics, but engulfs politics. All the Sahabah were men who fought next to the prophet, sat with the prophet, and literally prayed with the prophet. So anyone who thinks he has a say in their affairs or their personal issues is coming from a place of ignorance call it Shia call it twelvers . These men were promised Jannah and the only way you will enter Jannah is following Mohammed and Allah.
Actually the word shii started to grow after death of Hussain(a.s) n then mokhtar ibn abi ubaid Al saqafi, tried to avenge him,it was actually when some people got United as Shia, bcoz they saw the religion is not in safe hands,it wasn't about politics,it was about the religion itself,if they wouldn't have stopped yazid ibn moaviah,if imam Hussain wouldn't have been killed in the karbala, probably the Islam we have today wouldn't be same
But as a Shia I think,we shouldn't have any dispute, bcoz in first place we are all Muslims,we should respect each others, coz in Islam we are all brothers and sisters, and as our prophet said you should treat others the way you want them to treat u,so with ethics and morals our din will get better and better everyday inshallah
the name "hashashin" did not necessarily mean "they smoke hashish" rather it was a metaphor, it meant that these "men move smooth, and kill so efficient without leaving traces, like demons". so when they called them "hashashin" it meant to be more like "those who are possessed" as if they took psychedelics from the Angel of Death.

the word "hashish" meant medicine in the ancient Persian language and they were called "hashashin" because of their usage of various herbs for treatment. Great video overall! 10/10
It's also a kind of strong drug like cocaine which yes, used for medicine too.
hashish also means weed.
That’s incorrect, the word "hashish" is an Arabic word which means drug, the etymology of the word “hashashins” is of Arabic origin not Persian.
I like making things up, too
I barely know anything about Farsi/Persian ( if anything at all lol ) so idk how correct your comment is tbh. But Arabic is my native language, and “Hashish” literally means “drugs”, and “Hashshashin” which is related to the original word, translates to “stoners”, which likely comes from the fact that these guys (the assassins) were known to take a lot of strong drugs before doing their missions. Little known fact in the West: the Fatimid general that conquered Egypt and founded the city of Cairo was a Sicilian convert
Italians. Always up in Egypt's business XD
@Hissam Ullah There are still of people in North Africa who are descended from these Sicilian converts. The Arabic family name "al-Siqilli" or "al-Sqalli" is an indicator of that, it translates to "the Sicilian" There are also Sicilians now in Sicily who are descended from Arab/Berber Fatimids.
I'd like it if one of these history channels would make a video covering Sicily's history as an Emirate.
@Hissam Ullah are you the follower of Aga Khan?
He was berber north african algeria now
Two facts: 1- The Alamut castle is freaking amazing when you visit it yourself! There is only a very narrow mountainous pass to its gate which explains why it was almost impenetrable 2- As far as I know there was a huge tendency to demonize these people in their time (bc of their opposition) and therefore you shouldn't believe everything you hear about them P.S Also as far as I know Hassan Sabbah bought the castle from its owner
Moğollar bütün kaynaklarını yakıp yok etmeseler daha çok şey bilebilirdik. Bugün onlara ait bilgimiz hep karşıt görüşlülerden geliyor. Ben de İran a gittiğim zaman Alamut'u görmek istiyorum.
@@bm_wuratli6883 Fransız kalmışsın konuya "starfollah"
yea " bought" indeed
By Looking their crminal actions it feels owner have no choice 🙄. Don't you get it? Why anyone would sell their castle to bunch of people who have history of crime. Its all fear.
As-salamaleykum the lecture I’ve listened to for the third time has been absolutely excellent brilliant if I may say so I extremely enjoy Kings &Generals the best information put together in brief time and I’m sure that given more time they would be packed with so much more in-depth knowledge absolutely brilliant please keep it up and I appreciate all the effort and hard work not just from the Proffessor from some of the greatest University’s on the planet but all the team and all involved ,all you guys are definitely a benefit to Man kind seeking historical knowledge ,please keep it it up Guy’s May Allah’s/God Mercy,Peace and blessing shower you all Amin/Amen.
Wa -Alaykom Al-Salam brother, peace be within you
I am proud to be ismaili we see our Nizar even today following his sayings.Indeed Avicenna was too ismaili, they also were clever people I wish if their books remained 😔
@@jonijoestar6871 Because they’re of the Nizari Ismaeli sect of Shia Islam obviously. They can’t set up HQ in Sunni majority countries like Yemen or Pakistan, that’d be a death sentence. Iran on the other hand follows the Twelver sect of Shia Islam which is generally bad news for Nizari Ismaeli’s. Portugal and much of the Iberian peninsula was once islamized, then the reconquista Christianized them until secularism was achieved. As such, Nizari Ismaeli’s are safe there.
Spectacular effort as always by the entire team. I learned a great deal from this video thankyou!! My Play of the Day award goes to the knife in the pillow with a note asking for peace. That's as gangster as it gets!
Hashashins: We have survived for generations, and our fortresses have never fell. Alamut remains our capital stronghold. Crash Course: And then the Mongols. Mongols: Allow us to introduce ourselves. By the sword.
Templars said the same thing until the king of France said fuck them and burned them at the stake
@@drizzlemcnasty7733 didn't the Grandmaster's curse screw over the pope and the french King's entire dynasty?
Mongols:Allow us to introduce ourselves by the sword Hashashins: OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!
@@essexclass8168 Yeah I learned that from Kings and Generals, damn. That's a Divine Judgement since even their desd bodies weren't spared from the wrath.
The alamut castle still stands my friend right in qazvin iran
you know, this ought to be put in a movie ... i enjoyed it very much
Persians have such rich and deep history and culture. I'm truly amazed, what a beautiful country
@𓄂𓆃𓉱𓁩Persian Gulf Warrior𓁪𓉱𓄂𓆃 coming from an asian guy, yall truly do have a beautiful culture and country 💯🙏🏾
The Order of Assassins weren’t necessarily Persians. They existed pretty much all over the region. Hasan-i Sabbah the founder of the order himself wasn’t Persian
@@Byhvla Bro, Middle Eastern culture IS Persian culture for a fact! I'm not gonna take you to school bro, but you can go learn on your own. They have the oldest culture there, andeven the most prominent Sunni scholars are two Iranians Bukhari, and Imam Muslim jus to name two.
When I see the fine art works on your videos I wonder how amazing it would be if you do some videos about the Witcher books lore keep it up K&G ❤️
The Ismaili here in Lisbon are viewed as the most friendly and moderate of all muslims, they colaborate and help out a lot in many charities, last massive forest fires we had they were in the frontline with cash and goods for the victims. How times have changed :D
the nizari ismailis became very Liberalized during modernization.
@e hgf 😆😆
The old man in the castle, also gets a few scenes in the Netflix's Marco Polo! One of the best shows featuring the silk route wish it had another season
Im a nizari ismaili . I feel so happy that most of your information was correct because in most of the cases the sunni muslims mostly write negative about our history. Like they misunderstand concept of assassins and why did we fought wars with them . We did it in order to survive or else their ruthless and merciless ruler would have completely killed us .
They always try to obliterate the identity of the Shiites, but they will never succeed. My respect to the Ismaili Shiites is from an Iranian Twelver
@@luqmanosman4508 The Shiites support themselves, man, against you

I knew I'd find assassin's creed's references in the comments! Ahahah The true history of the Hashashyyn is even more compelling than the one of the game anyway.
Paulo Mendes mostly Ancient Astronaut theory mixed with Pre-Adamite hypothesis. Since Ancient Aliens is totally false anyway. You should look at the famous Debunker Chris White’s Ancient Aliens Debunked. I come across allot of these Assassin’s Creed fangirls and a quarter of them start to believe in the whole Ancient Alien bullshit in the game.
Well that's a game after all, not a documentary.
Arabs took islam to death not including the time where mohammed sas peace be upon him lived
Paulo Mendes Silence pagan
