About S.W.A.T.: Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and to bridge the divide between his two worlds. Hondo’s elite unit includes David “Deacon” Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer who always puts the team first, despite feeling overlooked for the lead job; Christina “Chris” Alonso, a skilled officer and the team’s canine trainer; Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high-risk situations; Victor Tan, who started in the LAPD Hollywood Division and uses his confidential informants in the community to help the team; and Jim Street, a cocky and promising new team member who is fired when his troubled family life leads him to compromise his role within the unit. Responsible for the management of all Metro Division S.W.A.T. units is Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau. Overseeing Hondo’s team is Hicks’ direct report, Jessica Cortez, the ambitious captain of L.A. Metro whose professional aspirations force her to end an off-the-books relationship with Hondo. Hondo’s team enjoys an intense rivalry with another L.A.-based unit led by Jeff Mumford, an aggressive leader who likes to do things his way. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives. Starring: Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Jay Harrington, Alex Russell, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati

Glad to see they are taking notes from the rookie when it comes to realistic uniforms
In most departments, this is how SWAT spends most of their time. Only a few departments have SWAT that spends most of their time on SWAT duty. Most departments have SWAT officers on patrol whenever they're not actually on SWAT calls
In real life, the LAPD SWAT team (D-Platoon) is a full-time SWAT unit. They don't do patrol except under very rare circumstances. All their time is spent on deployments and training exercises. LA is a big city. There's always something going on. The Metropolitan Division, however, has other platoons that are specifically tasked with crime suppression. They used to have 1 crime suppression platoon per geographic bureau of the LAPD (A, B, C and G platoons for Valley, West, Central and South Bureaus) but this was reduced to only 2 platoons due to personnel shortages.
This is true in a small city they have part time voluntarily swat team members
SWAT blah blah blah SWAT blah SWAT blah blah SWAT!!!
LAPD has a full time SWAT and this show does a terrible job of showing it. Technical advisor needs to be launched ASAP.
They actually look good in their patrol uniforms
I love how they get to razz the boss a little and he rolls with it.
Am i the only one that is bothered by his shirt buttoned all the way up without a tie? lol
Deacon is sergeant 2 not 1, i mean in first episode of season 1 while patroling he have the sergeant 2 grade on his shoulder
Smart cops
what the hell is that button up on the long sleeve shirt without a tie
Definitely looks odd
DeLuca is detective? Two chevrons and a lozenge?
nah if you look closely it is 2 chevrons and a star which means officer III+1
I like how Powell's opinions addressed how officers were treated following the George Floyd death. A lot of officers were probably very mistreated because of their uniforms when they did nothing but try to do their jobs right the best they knew how. And while, as a society we call for reforms, we often fail to think about how all this affects these people who work on the ground. It's easy to see how their "us vs them" mindset can come from.
I agree. Officer Zoe Powell definitely understands what the job is like for Hondo, Deacon, Luca, Street, Commander Hicks, and Tan. Officer Christina Alonso, Officer Nora Fowler, Captain Jessica Cortez, Officer Miguel Alfaro, Officer Rodrigo Sanchez, Officer Jeff Mumford, Officer Donovan Rocker, and Officer Alexis Cabrera know what the job is all about as well.
God hate when they bring up the criminal
Super
I hope the costume department got a talking to after this episode. Deacon is 2nd to Hondo, but still a Sergeant II. Deacon had the proper rank way back in the pilot episode. Here, his rank is missing the bottom rocker.
Childish, the very 10 seconds can decide
0:21 who the hell is that and why did he adress the team.
I hope the police made a special badge for people who had to fight black people for 2 years after floyd (who died of an overdose after using fent, had priors including threatning a pragnant lady, and used a counterfit to pay).
Este capitulo esta bien hecho seguir asi
Where is my king at Hondo
Good to see Sony is forever out of touch with reality!
now the S.W.A.T. becomes a Patrol Cops well this is really surprising
Not really even big city’s like NY and LA really don’t need SWAT teams waiting for the call every day all day so they usaly have them go out in patrol
only girl in LAPD swat is on this show i guess
There are a couple of others that have been shown. Another female SWAT operator, Cabrera, came up in the same class as Powell, and a SWAT Tactical medic rode with 20 Squad a few times. Powell is the only one focused on as she is the one who ultimately replaced Chris.
There was also Chris but she was replaced by this girl
🖤🩵🖤🩵
Was there even 1 episode after season 3 that didn’t complain about made up racism gosh this show got so bad, definitely an operation mockingbird production
"made up racism"? If you think it is just made up, that just prove how privileged you've been in life to be able to be so blind
"Made up racism" You weirdos need to find different talking points that don't make you sound like jackasses that are VERY out of touch with reality.
