Yes. Max should not go to 155 unless he’s planning to fight 3-4 contenders before asking for a title shot
Only way the BMF title moves forward is if you have clear and definitive qualifications to challenge for it..aka a resume of being a bad mf statistically.
Ilia is just trying to steal that title from max so that max is left with nothing cling on to after he loses to ilia...... im looking forward to this fight
Imo the BMF belt is for Strikers only "brawlers".
Topuria frustrates a lot of people against Max. Topuria will make max look slow mark my words. Always a chance max lands something unexpected…. But Topuria is more technical, quicker, a superior striker and just fierce!
THe fact that there are people who think max can KO Ilia just shows how delusional his fanbase is

Skills need to be tested to consider himself elite. Hasn’t even defended his belt yet against any of FW contenders. Dude may have good hands and good grappling skills but his chin still can get touched, we’ve seen it on his come up in the UFC. We see what happens.

I was calling max fans casuals because they assumed because of the TKZ and gaethje knockouts that max has the power to put out ilia in the first round which is dumb af when you consider TKZ was moving right into max's overhand and that justin was gassed and had accumulated all that damage. Bro the first round of their fight was competitive volk had more volume but Ilia landed the more powerful shots and was timing volks jab. He had a gamplean for the volk KO it wasn't lucky at all. The BMF should not be looked as a mandatory belt. It's a belt that you don't ask for, it (the belt) ask for you. Now try and tell me that belt wouldn't ask for Conor long before Ilia in this situation.

I think Topuria wants the BMF belt for 1 reason only, Assuming he beats Holloway and becomes the new BMF champion, That will give Topuria the option to fight Mcgregor at 170lbs for the BMF title. Also, lets say Topuria beats Holloway and becomes the new BMF champ....How does the results get announced it....Anddddddddddddd Still/New champ....lol....A few confusing parts but as i mentioned I believe that is why Topuria wants the BMF title because it gives him the option to fight Mcgregor at 170lb...especially if Mcgregor beats Chandler...I guess we see what happens.
Everyone keeps on saying ilia is a badass but really the only tough fighter he’s fought was volk max has had way more tougher relevant
I heard the same comment everytime he was facing a new opponent, starting with Ryan Hall, they were saying it was his first real opponent because of his wierd jiujitsu technique. Then against Bryce Mithcel because he was a badass on the floor and also undefeated, then agaist Josh Emet because was a top 5 at the moment and finally Volk. So in my opinion Ilia will KO Max.
The way it should work is if the BMF holder is fighting the champion Both belts are put up. The winner gets both and gets to pick an upcoming fight to “release” the belt into. Let’s say max and Ilia fight The winner could pick Whittaker vs chimaev and the belt goes there but they keep the prestige of having earned the title from the current holder. Then rinse and repeat
Make this happen. Nobody wants to see volk get knocked out again
