Ferry flight from Schiphol runway 36L to Rotterdam, landing runway 24.

** This film is not to be used for training purposes! **
This was a ferry flight from Amsterdam to Rotterdam. This particular aircraft was needed at Rotterdam to conduct a flight from Rotterdam to Malaga.
Starting from Schiphol from the parking position E77. This parking position is not often used by our company.
We started taxing towards runway 36L "De Polderbaan".
Landing at Rotterdam runway 24 just a couple of minutes later.
From pushback till standstill at Rotterdam is all in real time.
Enjoy the film!

  • Great communication from the FO, even though very minor mistakes, such as not calling 60kts after landing, and writing the wrong weather - it's good to make them be known to the Captain, or take ownership. Some (very few) first officers don't voice their errors for fear of upsetting the captain. - That's where small mistakes can turn into much bigger ones - All the more important for the Captain to be easy to talk to like in this video. Chatting (only at the right times) should also be encouraged as to create a positive relationship between pilots - so that you can also communicate and understand eachother better during the important parts of the flight, or in an emergency.

    • Select Heading, not Heading Select, as it could be mistaken with Set Heading "Kut" also is not an appropriate term ;)

    • @@pascalcoole2725 'Heading Select' is de mode die je dan aanzet, 'select heading xxx' zou je zeggen wanneer 'heading select' niet actief is en je heading xxx wil gaan sturen. Als je alleen de 'heading select' mode aan wil zetten zou je eigenlijk 'engage heading select' zeggen. In ieder geval is het mij zo geleerd.

    • @@737driver Stefan ik kan niet meer precies terug vinden op welke thread je reageerd, maar in mijn beleving is het Set and Select Heading (koers kiezen en dan heading mode kiezen) Set Heading (koers kiezen als heading mode al actief is) Select Heading, tja.. het kan wel maar dan heb je dus al een heading ingesteld. 't is voor mij al wat jaartjes geleden vrees ik.

  • great video1s, my wife`s uncle flown a Lockheed constellation (love those planes!! ) in his young time for KLM. much later he joined Transavia, met his stewardess , and married, he died a few months ago at a beautiful old age but due Corona in his retirement home in Spain, but the stories he told in his life, made him a hero to me, i can`t imagine a better job than a pilot.

  • When taxiing the plane, is there any logic in naming of the taxiways to find your route or is it knowledge combined with a chart with the layout of an airport?

    • We use taxi charts... Some airpot have thought about taxiway naming... but not all airport have done that.

  • de souks hebben we onder begeleiding van een goed engels sprekende gids bezocht en dat was erg fraai om te zien want zo op die manier kom je echt met de marokaanse bevolking in aanraking. Atlasgebergte was ook erg mooi en we zijn bij een Berber familie op de thee geweest. en een rijtoer met koetsjes met aangespannen paarden een marakesch by night tour gemaakt.

  • misschien een rare vraag : wat mij opvalt is dat bij vliegtuigen aan de buitenkant aan de kont onder de staart bij opstijgen en landen zo,n klein rond fel wit lampje knippert in dat openingetje. en dat is vooral goed te zien bij airbussen en ook bij de boeing 777. waar dient dat voor ? gr jol.

    • mightymkl bedankt voor het reageren. Ik heb deze trip nog niet gedaan, maar het gaat zeker komen. Ik start dan ook van E77 en neem exact dezelfde taxi route en baan voor takeoff. Ik wil ook met dezelfde maatschappij vliegen welke u vliegt in deze video, maar ik kan het niet zien. Kunt u mij uw route en de gewichten vertellen voor de fmc voor deze vlucht? En hoeveel passiers?

    • Hoi Jesse! Leuk te zien dat je toevallig zo langs een filmpje van me komt. Heb toevallig (een tijdje terug) Maarten aanboort gehad. Die heb ik natuurlijk uitgenodigd in de cockpit.   • Ik had al cabin view rides met treinen als eigenaardige youtube hobby, nu ook vliegtuigen. Leuk en gezellig kijkje op het werk in de cockpit!

    • Grappig... Ik had het toen niet over deze vlucht... maar dit was inderdaad een vergelijkbare vlucht. Toen vertrok ik van Amsterdam 24 (Kaagbaan) en landde op baan 24 in Rotterdam... dan doe je er 7 minuten over... (althans toen). Wel goed onthouden en opgelet! Thanks.

  • Leuk zo'n korte vlucht. Daar ben je idd wat drukker mee, lekker uitdagend :) Grappig om de DME(24) ident 'RSV' op morse er tussendoor te horen. Een hoop Transavia vluchten vanaf Rotterdam die dag, zo te zien. Thanks and greetz, Henk

    • It is very difficult to speak and pronounce words correctly however I find it a lot easier to read and type. I understand the words when I look at them, but when I hear them I get mixed up; part of the fun of learning I suppose. Thank you for replying, have a fantastic weekend.
