I remember in the dominican republic we made scooters that were powered with rubber bands. You would wind up the rubber bands with a pully and gear and it would stretch them very very tight. We used at least four on the rear wheel ... to release the energy you used a trigger system and you used a brake handle to control the amount of force. It functioned almost like an e-bike but with rubber bands! Eventually we figured out how to wind the rubber bands with the pedals and you could wind the rubber bands and then go ... they became really popular and you would see tons of them on the road during that era .... it was always fun watching how people came up with inventions to harness the power of energy .
i'd love to see a video of these scooters, sounds fascinating!
wouldnt you have to stop every couple hundred feet to rewind it?

My grandfather told me stories about his childhood in Pennsylvania in the 1920's. He had 11 brothers and sisters, all of whom began working from the age of 7 or 8 years old. All were employed in the nearby textile mills, where they earned 30 to 50 cents per day. In addition to this 50 cents, they were given a meal, and taught to read, write, and do basic math. When they became bigger and stronger, they left the factories, and went to work on the family farm. The money earned by the kids was collected by my great-grandfather every week, and he used it to enlarge and improve his farm. In those days every person capable of working worked, no one sat around and did nothing. As a result of this mentality, my grandfather and his siblings were well-fed, well-clothed, and well-housed. And all of them went on to live productive and successful lives. They weren't especially smart people, but they knew the value of time and work.

Aqui 40o graus 🥵💥 Então vou para Rússia 😂

Excellent ‼️ Quelle ingéniosité. Quelle résilience. Quelle adaptabilité. Quelle abnégation. Système D (Débrouille) et Survie. Félicitations et chapeau bas ‼️
Ah bon ??

We all think we’re better than others until we realize we all are standing on the same ground.

This wooden scooter was invented by a Portuguese man who was visiting
This is one of the main reasons they don't want to give our people reparations in America because our people are already capable of making something happen with nothing and they know this. They also still owe us because of the inventions that we have created in America and they still don't want to do right-bye our people. That's the reason why this country is going to fall. They say that reparations would be divisive but they never said that when it came to other people that they've given reparations to who suffered much less than our people have in this country. Yes I'm one of those people that bring this subject up because I'm not going to give up on it because it's not about just money. It's about doing the right thing to make wrong right? Even when you don't want to because your only seeing up your own demise by not doing so.
@@gregkosinski2303 bro you are so kind, it was invented ~4000 BC hahahah, yet soyboys think this is amazing :'D 6000 years ago someone already figured it out, and this guy is being recorded by modern technology and still he can't figure it out hahahaha
You see skilful guys like these all over Africa. When I visited Africa a few years back the guys were really talented making stuff out of the most basic equipment by hand.
I think it's patronizing to call this skilled or talented
