I’d say Khabib is fighting Tony next regardless. Either way I don’t see this guy beating Tyron or Khabib at 160 or 165 to be honest. Tyron is just in another level all around, and Khabib has better control, pressure, hits hard, and even more technical on the ground. Let not forget that Khabib wrestles people much bigger than him including DC, Cain, Luke, other Olympic level wrestlers, and the list goes on.

I mean the man had zebaz in a cradle and was kneeing him in the face for christsake how is that boring!!! Honest to god his grappling is isnpirational. Unlike other lay and pray fighters Askren is always advancing position and making sure to put all his weight on the opponent draining their stamina. He may play it safe and doesnt go for big flashy wins but thats why he always wins.

Nobody controls position like Askren. Not even close. Khabib uses being heavy but he doesn’t have the relentless flowing style of Askren. He has the most difficult style of wrestling to stop. He doesn’t even fight you, he just continually traps you.

He isn't a yes man, which Dana hates and he admits he doesn't think his style is what the UFC wants. He said it himself on Joe's show. He had an offer for one fight and later the same day they yanked the offer with the message that they won't be offering him anything and never really told him why.

Askren explains it on Joe Rogans MMA show #12 and probably other interviews on YT also. Basically, the UFC screwed him over when trying to recruit him from Strikeforce. After Askren quit Strikeforce the UFC did not give him a deal as he was told they would which left him out of both organizations. Bad words were exchanged between Ben and Dana over the years.

But 99 out of 100 times that won't happen. Aksren could've just waited for him to Sprint across jump and dodged him or stuck both his hands out and shoved Jorge to the ground in mid air then Askren would've had him where he wanted. Why Askren ducked to grab his legs is stupid as fuck for a fighter 19-0. I admit when I'm wrong. But it's annoying here cause had that not landed or Ben saw it, Ben would've won. How Ben didn't Dodge him when he jumped or stick out his arms and grabbed him mid air is beyond me. His instinct to go for legs immediately took over and it cost him. Askren explains it on Joe Rogans MMA show #12 and probably other interviews on YT also. Basically, the UFC screwed him over when trying to recruit him from Strikeforce. After Askren quit Strikeforce the UFC did not give him a deal as he was told they would which left him out of both organizations. Bad words were exchanged between Ben and Dana over the years.
Thought it started when Ben called Dana out for lying - Dana said it'd be impossible to do year round drug testings. (Turned out Ben was right - the UFC started the USADA thing just a year after.)
Dana also fucked it up with Fedor with his pettiness. Shame.
