  • This movie carries a very important message for any dynamic, not just relationships. Observe carefully how people react to your achievements. If something is off, cut those people off. I've had a couple of close friends I felt were never truly happy for me, and they ended up stabbing me in the back (metaphorically speaking). I've also had a boyfriend who never seemed to be proud of me, and he also ended things on a terrible note. Needless to say, these people are not in my life anymore. Of course, this film was an exaggeration, but the message still stands. Be careful of who you uplift and let into your circle - not everyone will reciprocate. Partners, friends, coworkers, relatives, doesn't matter.

    • @@mirix1515if this is true, it's sad that happened to you. But, this movie is not going against all men. It's showing the perspective of a woman going through her personal experience. There can be a movie about a man going through the same and that would be fine. Just stop misconstruing the message and invalidating women's experiences in the comments just cause you were unfortunate enough to come across women that supposedly didn't like your success. Honestly, that's difficult to believe considering how you replied in the previous comments was not pleasant, which makes me think the women just finally saw you as a red flag. I can't believe I have to clarify this, but no one should experience the toxicity/abuse that the movie shows.

How many men have felt threatened by a woman becoming successful and not admitting and then act like arseholes. This is a good movie for women to understand that just because a manwantst to marry her, it doesn't mean he'll be supportive along the way. This is a sad reality, but I'm really happy the movie shows the reality.

    • @mirix1515 if none is aiming to call quits on the stupid competition, truth is either man or woman are foolish to have thought about a long lasting love. The only love that survives is the one that keeps faith and is willing to give up on their personal dreams for an everlasting love. Unfortunately, some women and men nowadays aren't willing to give up on their personal dreams and that sometimes can make a relationship collapse. One important thing to note in the movie is that regardless the sex of being a woman or a man, the male character was willing to kneel and beg for a promotion to his boss, but he never had the intention to kneel in front of his fiance and beg for forgiveness. Love can never survive if you're not willing to say sorry. Ps- I'm married and my husband and I had our "competition" period. Thankfully we gave up on stupid habits/proudness and our love has won.

If me and my girl worked at the same job and she got a promotion, even if it was one I wanted very badly, my love for her would overshadow any sort of jealousy I may have. If it didn’t, then I probably shouldn’t be with her. When you truly love someone you become their cheerleader. You root for them even when your life is falling apart because their happiness means more to you than anything. If you don’t feel that way with the person you are with, then maybe you should reevaluate your relationship with them. But hey, it looks ok.

I told him that I don't think working in the same company is a good idea, we would either lose our job, our relationship, or both. And he joined. Then our relationship became bumpy and I ended it...then he started sabotaging my work...until I lost it in a meeting. So I decided to resign and moved to another city.

So telling someone to do something and then encouraging and supporting him in his application process by using your connections to get him in there while at the same time saying “hey you working here isn’t a good idea” is ridiculous. • Phoebe's acting is superb as well as Alden!! The film really exposed just how men feel about a woman getting positions in corporate America that they deem should only be for men! Love means nothing to those type of men when it comes to working in corporate America! The film revealed how the female character played by Phoebe was so invested in her relationship because she truly loved her partner and almost to the detriment of her career and life! Hence, in the real world I would have cut him loose before 1hour and 55 minutes because he was showing signs that he was not worth carrying such toxic dead weight, but then we wouldn't have all the drama that goes into making a movie even though the acting by both was superb!!!

      @Rudi_Mentary723@Rudi_Mentary7238 ай бұрын
    • @@Rudi_Mentary723 You mean some women. I didn't say men, I said some men. I didn't generalise, so I don't see why you have to as well. I know plenty of relationships where the woman has a better job than the man and they still treat each other well. Because I knew that I said 'some', not just 'men'. If you've had an example of a woman not treating a man right when she gets power I'm sorry that it happened but I don't see how that gives you the right to say 'women' as if all women act like that. But I guess that's the way it is, if someone talks about sexism that is still in the workplace using only a few examples, someone else comes in making generalisations based off sexist ideas. But none of that changes the fact that the workplace in this trailer is toxic and that they're both being attacked by old ideas about gender roles - their co-workers are mocking him for losing his position to a woman and rather than confronting them about it he's letting them get to him and is taking his frustrations and disappointments out on her, and their co-workers are also making snide remarks about her getting the job in the position saying 'wonder how she got that job' as if she couldn't have earned it on her own merits and since she doesn't seem to think that she has anyone to turn to about the passive-aggressiveness and lack of respect that's surrounding her in her new position she's keeping it in even though it's affecting her performance in the workplace and is damaging her relationship. They're both being attacked by the sexist idea that men must always be the ones in power and that women can never be in power, but rather admit that men and women are equally trapped by sexism as it demands that there are roles for men and women, people would rather just still blame women for everything.
