As a dominos driver there is 0 way we could ever get 30 minute pizzas out realistically, especially with our terrible owner who hasn’t upgraded anything in 20 years. Our oven is inconsistent and takes 7:30 when most places use 5:00 ovens now. Edit: Wow that's a lot of likes!

My parents owned and operated a Domino’s Pizza for my entire childhood. We had a big sign on the drivers’ door, where everybody would see on the way out, that read “hustle on your feet, not on the street”. And drivers were never reprimanded or punished for taking a little longer with their deliveries. There was only one minor car accident in the 17 years they owned the place.

Haha! I remember the 30 minutes or less deal. I stopped eating Dominos for a while because they weren't as good as a local pizza joint. After a few years I got a hankering for their old cardboard-flavored pies (I'm also old enough to remember them before their "new and improved" flavors and dough that completely changed how they tasted). The 30 minutes or less guarantee was nowhere to be found and I remembered being very curious as to why it was gone. I'm not in the least bit surprised that this is why.

If i was dominos: I'll make it 45 minutes 😭💀
I was a dominos delivery driver… it was pretty chill in the morning but when that clock hit 4 pm…. Pure hell. They were grooming me to be a manager and when I realized how fucking horrible they treated their employees so they could be PERFECT I left. Also you don’t get the delivery fee and most customers just assume that the drivers get the delivery fee but they don’t so more times than not Id delivery over $100 worth of food and see no tip at all. And one day I came in with a dark dark green pair of (really nice) jeans on with no rips because my washer was broken and I didn’t have any black jeans that were clean nor even presentable and they manager stood in front of the computer so I couldn’t punch in and told me not to come back until I had black pants on. Didn’t go back that day. He told me to go buy a pair of black pants at Walmart like I just have that kind of money laying around as the only one paying bills at my house being a delivery driver. I finally Told him I found a better job where I actually get the delivery fee and I don’t have to kill myself to get orders out on time and he said “this is your two weeks?” Like no bitch I’m not coming back BYE. I was expected to work 12 hours a shift 5 days a week and they would sometimes even refuse to let me go because I needed a manager to clock me out so they just… wouldn’t. I often worked an extra 1-2 hours past my 12 hour shift just because no one wanted to clock me out. I got paid $6/hr on the road and $12/hr in the store but that solely depended on if you were lucky enough to get to the computer to clock back in between orders… it’s often like GO GO GO!!! And my paychecks were only about $200 every 2 weeks. told my manager I can’t keep closing because I take depression meds at a certain time that make me drowsy and it makes me depressed to work till 3 am and she rolled her eyes at me.
Sorry you had to go through to all of that. That is problem is competitive job market and greedy corporate mentality. Once a company gets in the money, the greedy management forgets its the people that keep their business running and due to people needing jobs and awfully low salaries, they take people for fools and as disposable if they don't agree to overwork underpaid . A sad reality that needs to stop, people need humanly working conditions, proper rest and never one should overwork their employees.. We live in messed up times
Damn bruh it’s a lot differen in the Netherlands, really chill people and fun to work at honestly
No way that’s actually fcked
Same thing kinda happened to me when I worked at McDonald’s, management only cares about their stupid bonuses and stuff, and treat regular workers like they’re idiots. Glad you got outta that job.
Just remember everything you refuse to do there's some one else that's gonna get the job done, your failure is someone else's success. If they were grooming you then you had the opportunity to change things but you didn't... Never admit or openly tell your employer your not capable and have depression preventing you from doing certain tasks, you have limited your self worth proving your not worthy. That's just how it is in any job. You always gotta prove you can do anything that's asked of you to climb that ladder, it's the rat race.

I remember the 30 minutes or less or your pizza is free. That was their gimmick when they opened to set them apart from the other pizza chains. People would order from the absolute farthest point in their delivery area hoping for a free pizza. They also would blame the driver & fire them for having to give the pizza away. I knew several people who were fired because of that guarantee. I was glad to see they were sued. I also remember hearing on the news that another domino's driver killed someone else trying to deliver on that promise.
I like how he’s a lawyer and he’s playing whoopty in the background 😂
I still remember this. It was back in early 2007-2009 around there. A lot of orders. Heard a lot of demands, Karens, and drama with their drivers. Luckily, I was working at Pizza Hut, which is not that hectic.
It was worth the sacrifices, bring it back
I remember this as a kid 💯 I think we got a free pizza a few times but even when they would come later then 30 min I remember my grandma arguing with them because they still were trying to charge her!
The real truth (coming from an ex employee) is that the guarantee was still offered, but only to customers that were under around ~10 mins from the store, calculated by the system during purchases

As a Domino’s driver, my store strives to complete our deliveries in under 18 minutes. That’s 18 minutes from the moment you order to the time it gets to your door. We have a pretty intricate system to get it done, and drivers don’t feel rushed. We hit our target pretty much everyday.

I work at dominoes bro. That’s some bullshit. We have like 1-2 hour delivery times. Barry Allen ain’t working for you so 18 minutes is impossible. It takes 10-15 mins for the food to cook in the oven so it’s literally impossible.
@@christinabryant1899 We’re a slower store. Our weekly sales are around $25,000, so it makes it easier to make the deliveries in under 18 minutes. I don’t know how large our area is, but the furthest distance I’ve had to travel to make a delivery is 10 minutes.
Worked for dominos several years in the 90's and was never ever pressured to drive reckless.
Honestly I would take my sweet time sometimes if the family was heard with alot of kids or something so they dont worry about money
That in itself might not have been so bad, if they hadn't decided that if the driver didn't get there in 30 minutes, the cost of the order would come out of their paycheck. When someone's income is on the line, they do what they think needs to be done.
