    • In fairness the story is about saving the world as we know it, vs telling the story of a bitter old Wizard doing a remodel project way high up in his tower. That would be a funny skit, Sauron, the greatest wizard ever, keeps messing up building a pedestal for his seeing orb thingy, and it keeps breaking and his orb falls and hits the ground, then it rolls, he can't find it, but the other orbs can see what he is doing. Then he later he's shown singing Taylor Swift, that footage is recorded via the other orbs, then its used to bribe Sauron into giving up the ring of power. Wow that went off the rails quickly.

Around early teen not as fun/cool. Late teen, coming back around. Mid-20's, wishing they listened and watched more. That's when the respect kicks in for how smart you really were and how experienced you are now. Keep it up, Mike. --Brian

  • The biggest domino tip I got from Sedge is that you only need one tight setting domino per joint, reference that from an edge on both pieces, and then cut the rest on the medium setting. You don’t lose strength, but it makes assembly much easier

    @coolbugfacts1234@coolbugfacts123410 ай бұрын
    • I like the tight setting for one side then the loose for the other. This way I hammer in the dominos on the tight side and they will stay in place as I fight the piece together. Sorry I don't know who Sedge is.

  • I noticed the moments of what I'll call wobbulating when you're using the forstner bits. (rotating the axis of the drill bit in tiny circles) I'm going to try to remember that -- I've developed a bad habit of only using the drill press when drilling with forstners, since going whole-hog at once (using the regular power drill) can result in some unpleasant tear-out. Seems like that technique of yours fixes that problem, and I won't have to spend extra time setting up the drill press. Great vid as always. Thanks!

    @dabeamer42@dabeamer429 ай бұрын
    • Yeah, it helps prevent tear out at the start, and helps a dull bit feed a little better.

  • Very nice pec of finiture. I've got one made in the 1940s but they used 1/4" plywood no draw slides its held up just fine even the draw face is 1/4" plywood over a wood frame glued on, years ago the draw frt pulled off but my dad glued a conner board back on it. If that dresser can last 75 to 80 years with 5 kids using it I really can't see why the one your making can't out do it. But my reason to bring that up, is you could build a nice one that way using luan plywood just making the carcus and gluing parts together Thats pretty much what mine is and because its been in the family so long its an airloom. Cheap or not. And it looks really good still.
