How to respond to someone you started chatting online who doesn't ask you any questions about yourself, even though you overall have an interesting conversation.
A man asking questions about you is a RARE thing indeed.

Yes I get this dating problem all the time. I'm an older lady and more than not I dated more men that didn't ask questions!! It really sucked and I didn't know how to approach this behaviour. Also, it's annoying!!

I have had this problem. He has texted me for 2 weeks, every night. Mostly he was the one to initiate. When I do, he doesn't respond. Surface level communication. I don't get the impression that he is that interested in getting to know me and I have shared that with him. He says he is but not in a very convincing manner. When I asked if he had any questions, he just asked "what do you like to do for fun?" Tonight was the first night he didn't text at all. Time to move on. He clearly is not showing interest in me.

Seriously? What a crappy answer and I have dated many with stupid excuses like that!! smh the absurdity. If he only looked at the look on your face and to me these men have no awareness and so why ask them anything? How are you supposed to decided if you want to be with them for the long haul then.!!! Like see ya!!
I'm afraid to ask cuz I don't want to give him the idea to start asking me because I wanted to be genuine he doesn't care to ask me anything about myself and does not want to know why should I get to see idea start asking questions and give me the phone impression that he actually is interested in me

So my ex never wanted to ask questions. When I approached him on this subject, he replied that was in the past and he wanted to focus on the future. I disagree with his statement. My past is who made me. My education, my work history, my travels as well as family and friends. So basically, he also didnt ask questions pertaining to the present or future. This is a HUGE tell tell sign of narcissism. There is no interest at all about you, who you are, what you like, your passions, your opinions on things that matter. Women please pay attention with men. Lean back and just WATCH what he DOES and says. If he is truly interested he will ask questions. He will respect you also. Listen to your gut. When 1+1 adds to 4 with him but he still tells you it is 2. He is playing with your mind and making you second guess your REALITY, intelligence and your GUT feeling.
I believe he took his own idea to an extreme. There's a lot of good space between not asking any questions and acting self-centered or completely uninterested in the other person and asking too many questions and sounding like some kind of interrogator.

He is not a narcissist, he just isn't interested in hearing a history lesson about your life, because that bores him. Who are you to say what he should and should not be interested in? If you want a guy who wants to know every detail about your life, then go find him, but this guy is not obligated to hear your autobiography. Your past cannot be changed, but your present and future is in your control, and that is what he finds relevant and worth his time and energy.
Thats what i did i asked him why, he said he is sorry to make me feel like ttat and that he didnt want to push and it will come slowly so i got it
It’s not even men that don’t ask questions I have run into so many people who do not ask any questions. Co workers, my boyfriend, family members, etc. I could understand why my family members don’t ask questions because of stuff I did in the past but it’s weird when I did nothing wrong to co workers and they’d never ask any questions back. Neediness on my part? Who knows.
i think the same way at times. but i think most ppl aren't interested like that in other people . i like to know others and ask questions and usually only get a few that ask questions back. just at my last job i asked questions of about 3-4 co workers when getting to know them. only 1 yes ! 1 would ask me questions , personal. and it was a nice convo. the others were nice but never really asked questions.
Totally agree. It's a common behavioral flaw that's so easy to fix. Of course, you don't want someone to ask questions just because they feel they have to. Ideally, you want to ask and be asked questions out of genuine curiosity and desire to know the answer.

If I ask him anything he never answers hardly anything I ask him and when I do ask him something he avoids answering me or tells me in a nice way he can do whatever he wants or just doesn't call for a couple of days I always thought it's because he's working but the other day I asked him a question and I got a response two days later but he still wouldn't answer my question I finally just said I couldn't take it anymore and I said goodbye . I don't understand why he won't answer anything.
Run. He's hiding a whole other life from you by dodging your questions. A good person is open-hearted and will want to be transparent with you.

That’s a BS answer. She can ask questions just as well then you can observe. It should be mutual and fair.
I think, I personally have a bad habit of asking the same thing. Over and over again. Only somethings. I don't even realise I am doing it the time What can I do?. This usually happens if there too much time between the frequency of talk.
I would recommend being more conscious of what you're asking, and not necessarily asking that many questions. Also, if you repeat yourself every now and then, it's not the end of the world.

This behavior has always been puzzling to me. Chances are the guys simply clueless and not self-aware enough to notice this. It's also possible that it's not that interested. Throwing a curveball playfully might be a good idea - "hey, do you like me? (Yes). Ok, so how come you don't want to learn anything about me?"

Well since you are a man maybe I should ask you. If there's a man and a woman speaking and the woman might think that this man is only talking to her for a pizza but he also sounds genuinely interested in her but at the same time doesn't questions about her like what you like when she does it like where her background I just want to hear about myself as you say or could it be he's really not genuinely interested in me

These days it seems like the only questions women ask are about your job, your dating history and intentions, and how your weekend or day was. 😂 It's truly rare to meet a woman that asks genuine and insightful questions to truly get to know you. Most interactions are asking them questions, listening to them talk, and adding in flirting/banter to build tension. My theory is that social media and feminism have made women very self involved. They're told they're the prize and that they don't need men. So they have no motivation to truly invest. It's all about men investing in them. 💯
