I was #3 in this video. (Caught all 3 off 1 incense). I used the masterball on the moltres because it was an XXL, then the articuno came out and I was like “i might as well use my other masterball and then hope the Zapdos comes out. And luckily it was the next spawn and luckily caught it.
That's astounding! Not just 3 Galarian Birdies, which I've never seen, but catching all 3, even though technically only one was "skill."

@@sharkatac9 That's what I'm saying. Mystic noticed it a little, but it's got to be astronomical odds in isolation. It happens, but you could play it for decades under the current odds, for it to happen again. The best I've had, was a wild unown literally one day in my kitchen!

The two I've had thus far went towards Galarian birds with OK IVs. Articuno and Zapdos. Very tempted to use the eventual third one on a Weezing, just because it's my favorite Pokémon.

I used my master ball during the Halloween event to catch a Galarian Moltres, which was the only one I needed for the trio. I'm curious about how many other people have caught all 3 Galarian birds!

I haven’t used my second master all yet because the moltres I caught with the first one was so bad. Now I’m terrified to try again since Zorua can be pretending to be a Galar bird. That’s so sick!
Just make sure you don’t have a Galar bird set as your buddy and that should eliminate the worry of Zorua popping up when you encounter one. Zorua only copies your buddy Pokémon

Incorrect. This only applies to raids. You can still be an idiot an lose a wild shiny legendary, if they could even appear. Wild legendaries currently are shiny locked.

I have had zorua transform into a super rare Pokémon that was NOT my buddy at the time, that’s what’s scary.

For the people who accidentally caught a zoura, a zorua transform into your buddy pokemon and there’s ways to know that a pokemon is a zorua like say a shadow pokemon spawned in the wild it’s a zorua

My 3 year old daughter had my phone on froakie comm day and caught a random froakie with it when I wasn’t paying attention. The ivs weren’t good and I was trying to conserve space so I transferred it. Then was confused like a week later to see the masterball gone. 😅
Some people might regret using the master balls they have when they drop the shiny versions of the birds.

id already caught moltres and articuno with ultra balls so about 2 days after getting my first master ball and seeing a zapdos i was 100% using it to have all 3 galarian birds

For the shiny Noibat that ended up being a Zorua... what the heck man? The Pokemon would have appeared shiny in the overworld! Obvious tell that it was not an actual shiny, even before clicking on it.

I caught a Galarian with my master ball but I wasn't able to complete the recent research for another master ball 😢
I managed to get both Galarian Moltres and Articuno with the Ultra Balls, and when the FIRST spawn of my daily incense was a Zapdos i used it. IV's were crap, but now i have them all. ^^ And my second Master Ball is still not used.

i caught my galarian moltres before i got the master ball, and i hadn't done a raid in a while so i was out of golden razz berries. i caught it on an ultra ball and a razz berry.
My Gl zapdos was also Pokédex entry.🦅 but it was only one star⭐️. I caught it the exact same day as I got my master ball!, a few days before my birthday, i mean that’s a gift itself✨.
Haven't used either of my masters yet but my first encounter of the fashion week wooper was coloured and I caught it so. If Cosmog ever comes to a raid and it is max IV if I get down to the last ball I will use one as my first one was max IV so to complete a legendary set.

Buddy functionality idea / introduction of “bottle caps”: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the buddied Pokémon were to find a bottle cap where, when applied, would increase or decrease the buddy’s IVs by 1. For this idea, let’s say the Km needed to “find a bottle cap” were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV change. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. The same math would be applied to reduce IVs for PVP Pokemon. In addition to finding bottle caps with your buddy walking, perhaps they could be found in other activities by your buddy. Such as spinning stops/ raids/ gym battling / etc. This would also be EXTREMELY rare. To avoid problems with caught 100%s, the stat changes could be visibly different than normal stats with the following: * a notation on the Pokémon screen * different colored IVs showing a bottle cap was applied * the CP of these bottle capped Pokémon would be -1 of actual 100%s or PVP IVed caught Pokémon * the 100% bottle capped would not be searchable with 4* but would have a search just for “bottle capped.” Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. - Allows all types of players to get 100%s while also not flooding the player base with actual 100%s. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - The need to catch all Pokémon would be reduced slightly If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly. Side note: Could it be this is why Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu was so powerful? Because Ash built a string relationship with him? Did you know you can make an Eevee a ghost type by using a special kind of stone called a brick?
Theres a more effective way that can get you 1 of 2 types. Just drop it off a cliff, if it flys its a flying type!!1 If it doesn't its a ghost type. Much better
I’ve been stacking my black rocket radars specifically for the day rayquaza is a shadow, and hopefully shiny. When that day comes and I find that shadow shiny I will be using the master ball
i hope they do 1 per season. if they do im using my next one on a galarian moltres or one of the lake trio if i run into one and run out of pokeballs while trying to catch it cause fun fact the lake trio have a 1% catch rate but 0% flee rate. but yeah probably galarian moltres

First Catch of my master ball was a 100 percent Shadow Moltres out of a raid used all my regular premium balls but of course it popped oit everytime so I had to use the master ball sadly
my best galarian bird of all 4 i have is an articuno with 71% ivs if i remember
i will be using it on a shiny eevee. no doubt about it
Tip: If you see a Galarian bird on your incense, check the circle! If it’s not red, then it’s a zorua, if it’s red or you do not have it as your buddy, you can use your masterball
So a Galarian bird can be zorua even if the bird isn't your buddy? I thought it could only be hidden as a buddy... not just any wild Pokémon.
