  • Got to hand it to China when it comes to huge infrastructure projects. I recall visiting the SIP (then the Singapore industrial Park) in Suzhou a couple of hours inland of Shanghai to oversee an industrial medtech manufacturing project. Resulted in me being there regularly for a few years. It’s transformation from a rural backwater to what it became in the space of only a few years is absolutely incredible. 👏👏👏

They had isolated for a moment to let their country build up very fast because they’re systèm is great they don’t need foreign media or anything to bring bad influence to they’re country. As they get stable they open up to the world more and more but only for business and projects. They reject what is not assured to be beneficial and accept what they think could be a good decision. They are very protective for their country. Even though there are some abuses of human rights in textile companies and some more which is sad. But generally people live well in china and their state generally serve well their civilians and look for progress wisely.

If we (the US) were smart and moral, we would emancipate the nations in our Empire around world and simply cooperate for win-win sustainable development. • Of course China pursues belt and road in its own interests. The key factor is that China has figured out its own interests are also aligned with the interests of other countries and, even more importantly, has learned to balance that competition of interests. It has learned to perfect the balance of the mutual benefit equation. I'm afraid the US has never grasped that balance, and certainly not in the last 50yrs. I think many still do not understand the belt and road or, misunderstand it helped by western propaganda. I was guilty of that for years. Not any more, you just have to LISTEN to what the people of belt and road are saying.

A country that praises democracy and capitalism, but is fast to coup democratic countries if their are not aligned with their interests. "USA bombs, China Builds". Really sums it up. We won't forget that USA ignored the security and invaded Iraq with false claims. I'm from Brazil, and the country suffered greatly under the dictatorship USA sponsered. I'm sure there is plenty of crooked things that get done when there is few ways to store wealth and there definitely is an inflated real estate market to my understanding. One person there told me that there is enough housing in China to house the entire world population, implying that there are masses of unoccupied apartments built simply to draw investment. If that is the case then I would conjecture that a large amount could be built with spotty standards. However, it does not negate the fact that the Chinese are prolific builders and are building huge projects at home and abroad and the more they build the better and faster they will be.

  • Regarding the different political systems in the world, China has put forward a saying, which is called harmony without difference. What is meant by harmony without difference, that is, you can be a country with a capitalist system or a country with a socialist system. The system develops into a country where the people are rich and strong. So there are 56 ethnic groups in China. Each ethnic group has different beliefs, customs, and food culture, but they can get along with each other in a friendly way, and the country is getting stronger and stronger. And other countries, such as the United States, slaughtered Indians, drove Indians to barren land, discriminated against blacks, and racially discriminated. For example, in the Middle East, many countries are always divided between Shiites and Sunnis, and the struggle between the two sides continues. For example, Yugoslavia, what are the Armenians, Serbs, and Azerbaijanis? The once great Yugoslavia was split into countless small countries, and the wars continued. Ordinary people suffered, some died in battle, and some became refugees. Rwanda, for example, was divided into Tutsi and Hutu, and finally a massacre occurred. So I want to say, why not learn from China, why not all ethnic groups unite, respect each other, tolerate each other, and live a happy life together?

But henceforth, I haven't seen any such analysis. But I got practical experience with these BRI projects. And what I saw with my own eyes is that they are enormously useful for people who live in those areas. The only bad thing it brought is that, the already corrupted leaders of those so called "developing" nations, has become even more corrupted. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever see the day where I'd support Russia (and China) against my own country the U.S. and yearn with all my heart for the dismantling of NATO and the entire unified Western imperial regime. For my entire life I've avoided buying "Made in China" wherever I could but now I know China caters to the quality standards of their customers and you can get very high quality items from them -- same or better quality than the West for way less money -- so I now actively seek out "Made in China" whenever and wherever if fits my needs. Never thought I'd see that day either.

    • Students of "common core" history huh? thirty million people From 1960-1962, an estimated thirty million people died of starvation in China, more than any other single famine in recorded human history. Most tragically, this disaster was largely preventable. Undoubtedly, Uyghur children have suffered more than anyone during the ongoing Uyghur Genocide being committed by the Chinese Communist Party. In 2014, Beijing began to build concentration camps, imprisoning millions of East Turkestan residents beginning in 2017. Children forcibly taken from their families were either sent to Chinese orphanages, forced to live with Han Chinese families, or were left homeless. Children with families in other countries are not permitted to join them. This cruelty experienced by children of East Turkestan constitutes a violation of human rights, universal values, international conventions, and law. The Chinese Communist Party is openly committing a crime against humanity, one that qualifies as an example of genocide.

US should also be prosecuted & imposed sanctions as well. This details are well documented with hard evidence. No wonder the Middle East countries want US F out of their region. • Regarding the metro and HSR infrastructures that China is building in the Middle East, China is also teaching local engineers how to build and maintain the rolling stock and the infrastructure so that a local economy with expertise in this field can exist. This is completely different from how western nations and Japan conduct this sort of business where there is more emphasis on IP protection, thus killing any possibility of a local economy with expertise in this for self-sufficiency. This is part of the reason why Japan has been encountering some pushback on their HSR and metro projects across Asia (i.e. India, Indonesia, Vietnam) [the real reason has to do with Japan inserting a clause in the agreement to collect a portion of all revenues in perpetuity, basically rent income]. Furthermore, China is also building the rail lines that link the various GCC member states with the very real possibility that the entire Middle East might eventually be interlinked via HSR. Imagine being able to travel from China to any nation in Africa via HSR. That is the dream and China is helping the BRI members build it.
