There are alot of armchair football fans out there who are obvisouly entitled to an opinion, but thats just entitlement having never truly played the game. I have been fortunate enough to have played youth football at teams such as Liverpool & Everton and unfortunately thats when I realised semi professional was the route I needed to take because I was just not going to make it at the top level. However, I had a good "career" (with a job of course) earning good money for 10 years kicking a ball around a pitch at a good level. During my playing career I have played with and against some top professionals, one included a legend who has just retired from England duty after breaking the goalscoring record (not hard to guess) but when I watch Messi and I see the way he plays against other world class professionals over such a long period of time its nothing short of mind blowing. Let me tell you first hand that the calibre of player from "really good" to Messi is night and day, this guy will never ever be surpassed in my lifetime and yes Ronaldo is a goal machine, but for me, Messi does everything better in all aspects of the game. We will mourn the loss of this guy when he retires, trust me, football has never been an art form until Leo... The only question now is will Barcelona retire the number 10 jersey when hes gone?

Messi is truly the only payer who opened the door an entered the "ZONE". Watching him play gives me the most joy because I am able to see something I thought existed only in anime. A Genius that only appears once in a thousand year.

What's amazing is that he has been running with the ball like that since he was 4 years old. When he had his debut with Barcelona, you couldn't take your eyes off him because he was so electric. It looked so easy for him to run like that and you can tell he's thinking about his next play instead of making sure to keep control of the ball. He doesn't even need to look at it. Messi runs with his head up and that's how he can always make the right pass, the one no even imagined.
The way he does it feels like it is easy but once you try it out on the pitch you realise how much of a phenomenon he is!

I've played football all my life at a high level and other sports as well... the way he dribbles is like watching Kyrie Irving with his foot he makes defenders fall, slip, and run into eachother. So many people need to watch lio.
