Exploring Hidden Springs! More Ruins Of 180 Year Old Spring Resort! Fresh Water Found! Oak Mountain

2024 ж. 20 Сәу.

Join us on another exciting Adventure into History as we return to the scenic slopes of Oak Mountain in search of hidden natural springs. This time, Dan and I are lucky enough to discover not just one, but three flowing freshwater springs nestled in the wilderness. Experience the refreshment with us as we taste the cool, pristine waters of these secluded gems.
But the adventure doesn't stop at the springs! Climb aboard my classic '57 Chevy as we cruise through the breathtaking landscapes of Oak Mountain. The journey through time doesn't end with natural wonders-wrap up the video with a special flashback to a memorable, albeit muddy, misadventure when we got the Ford truck stuck on a treacherously washed-out road.
It’s a blend of nature's beauty, automotive nostalgia, and thrilling mishaps you won't want to miss! Join us to relive the moments and make some new ones on this picturesque mountain exploration.

  • Y’all really aren’t gonna tell us the lid story?! I appreciate how Dan often responds to you with simply a “yeah” when you sometimes make an observation statement/question. He says it the way a master would, like Yoda or Mr. Miyagi, as if it’s something he was born knowing and Robert the student is finally beginning to learn. He doesn’t do it disrespectfully but it makes me chuckle every time. Really, though, it's like you respect him so much that even though you already know you want to make sure you've included any additional input he has. But he knows you've covered it and just says, "yeah." It's a whole dynamic between the two of you in one word. Also, have to say, I get a lot of joy watching how y'all worked on getting your truck unstuck that day. It’s such a wonderful observation of friends bonding and making deeper connections. Love it so much! Finally, the more I see of Oak Mountain the more I think it’s such a pretty area. I wouldn’t mind spending more time out there. I can definitely see why the Milners chose it to found their small town of Cleola.

  • I really enjoyed the video, Dan and Robert you guys are great. Lol. Brings back some pleasant memories. As a small child, my parents had a red '57 with a white hardtop, sedan and it was an automatic. You have a diamond in the rough. And then the venturing days of also getting stuck in the mud but in a Volare station wagon, one of those that kept running even after turning it off and walking away. Lol. Then without a cell phone, back in the day, we were left gathering sticks and packing them around the tires. Covered in mud and all but we would get out. Thanks

  • My neighborhood! I enjoy the water occasionally too, it’s just what water should taste like. That spring flows just like that even in the heat of the summer too. Old timers have told me that water makes the best moonshine imaginable and people back in the day would come far and wide to fill water for their mash drums.

  • Man! I was sitting on the edge of my seat as you drove through that mud. What a slippery type mud. Slick stuff ,like clay. Cool 'spring' way out in the beautiful woods. We have those in Arkansas, Whole towns, populations of 5,000 or more get water right out directly ( Its piped to each home) from huge springs there. Evening Shade, Cherokee village ,Arkansas all get water out of springs for years now. Then you've got Hot Springs, Arkansas and those medicinal springs you can soak in and drink. Hot Springs was known for its healing benefits. Minerals we all need for good health.
