  • I hope somebody listened to this for the first time in a public place and said everything she told them to out loud to the confusion of the people around them

  • I love that if you assume that everything in Within the Wires and Alice Isn't Dead happens in the same universe as Night Vale, you can see a lot of cool links... Well done, Nightvale Team!

    • Monstro City they've actually confirmed that none of these stories overlap, and that there won't be any crossovers. i feel like it's safe to assume they take place separately from one another.

    • @@LunykStormdragon well it's fine , there doesn't have to be a big crossover , they could just take place in the same universe with the same rules , that could also have some cool advantages : you can have a cicumstance repeat itself in both series and show the difference and the similarities

  • I like that they play with the thin line between safety and peril, distress and relaxation in everything they do. I'm addicted already. Love their work.

  • What I understand from this story is that the person listening to this is in some mysterious institution and has to hear these cassettes. I am used to hearing Cecil's voice, but Janine is as creepy as him.

  • WIthin the Wires is wonderful and lovely, but I feel that a lot of my opinion on is based in previous experience and reference. For anyone who's experienced any of the Monroe Institute guided meditation pieces there's a strange dark satire from experience. Well performed, left mysterious enough for me to be interested in what makes this world tick.

The shoulder thing and telling them that they arent supposed to miss or even acknowledge the loss of whatever it is they miss is just ugh. Its super blatant but also weirdly subtle?

    • Not really, when you're talking/ listening to people from Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand her accent is really very subtle. There are American (assuming you are, else substitute the country accordingly) accents/dialects way stronger than hers. That being said, of course you can and should be annoyed by whatever you like (or don't, I guess?) :)
