Who would have known a magic eraser could be used on leather????!!!! Great video! Thanks!!! And the advice about the protector, excellent advice. Thank you!
I was sold in the first minute! Love magic erasers! But I kept watching because of the results!! Wow, like new seats!!
The difference is amazing!!
Awesome video ! really like the details you show how you work the sponge around the seat so we can understand how to do this. Great learning from an expert like you. Thank You !
Thanks.... wanted to show how an aggressive tool can safely be used with some common sense
Awesome. Thanks so much for your response. I tried years ago to find the right cleaner but absolutely nothing worked. i cant wait to try your method!!
My seats are refreshed. Thanks for a great video!
Ive been looking for vids like this since 2010 and i can say this is one of the best ive seen ever.
Going to try this with my vehicle as well! Thanks for posting this!
If you’re wondering what he’s spraying on the Magic Eraser, it’s Spray 9 that is diluted 5:1. He mentions it at 3:50. Many people keep commenting and asking what product he’s spraying on it. Obviously they didn’t listen and/or skimmed through the video.
Definately skimmed through video after the first panel was cleaned !
Thanks!!! I have used M.E. on plastic stuff, but never thought about leather.... probably cause none of may cars had leather until a bought a Subaru SVX. I'm in the process of fully restoring. Great vid.
fantastic. no kidding. many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have a whole pack unopened of magic erasers I’m so glad I watched this video!!!!!!
This was a excellent reminder on how easily the use of a magic eraser can rescue you from leather hell! Thanks
Good video, very effective results but I’m glad you did it first! The question is: can you up load a link to the products you used because I can’t appear to get them in the UK and was looking for something similar, thanks
FINALLY SOMEONE WILLING TO TRY MAGIC ERASER!!
I've been cleaning leather all wrong! Time to get some magic erasers! A wealth of knowledge!
I love your videos. They have helped me tremendously. You are a wealth of knowledge. And I want to thank you so much for sharing it !!
Your support for the channel is important!! As long as these video's help even one person...they will continue daily! Thanks again!!
Oh yes ! Your videos have helped me, a beginner in the detail trade, greatly !!
Cheers! 😁
Missy H 😩😭
Straight forward and informative. Awesome! Thanks, my leather couch is going to be white again 👍
AWESOME THANKS! I've been doing it wrong for years....😫😫
Thanks for another informative and practical vid Brian!.. You rock!
Yep. I pulled out my magic sponge today because I was so frustrated with this 17 year old car i was trying to clean. Worked beautifully. I used dollar store degreaser in some areas of the leather that were really bad.
About to try the same. I figured if the magic eraser can work on everything else, it should be able to work on leather seats
Absolutely brilliant Brian!!! Love the end result!!!
Awesome video! Straight the the point and very good information.
Just did this on my car. My seats were not as bad as the ones in the video but my drivers seat was about 50% as bad. Still a nice improvement. And protected with ICE Interior Detailer and Protectant
Brian, you make it look oh so easy! I've been detailing cars for more than 40 years... I've also used the magic eraser on leather seats! I think the key is to have the eraser soaking in water before using because I encountered my erasers easily tearing apart! Of course I'm mostly retired now, but I do have a handful of cars (including my own) that I care for, so I'll be trying out the eraser again when I clean up one of my Town Cars. I will say that in this video, the after you cleaned the seat did not look as clean as the "completely finished" seat at the end of the video...i.e. the sides of the seat.. around the headrest.. were still dirty looking at first. Just saying.. but it looked pretty good when finished!
This is soooo beautiful to watch!!!! Thank you Sir!!!!
Awesome! Easy to understand and follow, thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the tips. Just what I needed to attack my 2008 Ford explorer seats. Your intro music is also used by a cool British hobby machinist Enots Engineering.
Another amazing video Bryan. You have the best most informative detailing Channel on KZhead! Keep up the good work
Sooo happy I found this video BEFORE I tried cleaning thd filthy leather seats in a car someone just gave me. .They are gonna be so sorry they gave it to me. Lol. I cant wait to get started so I can show em what a few bucks Some elbow grease ,magic eraser ,and a micro fiber towel with the simple GENIUS in this video can do THANKS
Looks so beautiful my friend from what you started with going to do that to my V-6 2000 Accord with only 72,000 miles keeping it for another 20yrs have a lease on another car things keep falling apart turning it in next month and stick with my Accord probably out live me reason for low mileage live 1 block away from work keep up the great videos my friend!
what car are you leasing with that many problems?
@@mujjuman Fiat
Bought a 2016 Lexus 350, driver's seat was badly soiled and scuffed. I first tried TriNova and a Horse Hair brush, not very effective. Then I saw your video ... it made a difference. I may eventually have to have them re-upholstered but the seats are alot more presentable because of your video, Thanks !
Nearly all car leather is actually coated with a variation of plastic, so cleaning and protection are really relating to what is safest for that top layer. Once the lower leather dries or cracks from age, heat, and UV damage, little is going to help.
Great job!! I'm defiantly using your method, Better than others I've seen.
Have white leather in a BMW, getting ready to sell and no one has been able to clean it, my husband was embarrassed to ride with me, we have dogs so I blame them, but I followed his directions EXACTLY and WOWSERS, super impressed. Very little elbow grease but a lot of great results, sure wished I would've looked this up a few years ago. Now the new owner will benefit.
Kumi Verdier ... I have a BMW with tan interior and thinking of using this method. What type of cleaning/spray you used?
It cleaned it up reall good although i did notice it picked up some of theh factory dye(small specs) but overall it did good. Maybe i didnt dilute it enough. I kept in mind that the seats are 20years old though, and they do look 100x better at least.
This is a great video! I have a quick question though. Would meguiars synthetic spray wax leave a matte finish like the op on 3.0 that you used in the video? Or did it just look matte but has a slight sheen? Thanks so much in advance :)
These are some of the most satisfying transformations, light colored leather that is trashed. Customers are always blow away with the transformation. Nice job. I have a broken in white non abrasive cleaning pad with APC currently, I'll give this a try.
As for the APC.. cut it 10 to one... or even warm water works. I also keep a bucket of water nearby to rinse the pad after a few passes. 👍🏻
Yep, my APC is cut 10 to 1, never tried warm water..more new tricks. I appreciate all your time and feedback Brian!!!
My pleasure Rich!! I try not to use a cleaner when using the magic eraser method. Hardly ever need it. But my Spray Nine disinfects and sanitizes all that stuff on the seat.
What is cleaner APC?
All Purpose Cleaner
Thank u Guy for this vidéo !👍🏻😃
I see a lot of opposition on forums when it comes to magic eraser on leather, but I use it with great success. On leather seats I palm it as you did in the video, and the gliding action will tell you how much pressure to use without grinding into the seat. You'll also see the majic eraser start to pull up the dirt as you progress... like a clay bar on paint. Soaking in water to soften does make a big difference. Keep the good stuff going my detailing brother.
Between you and I... and whomever sees this! 😂😂😂. I could give a rats ass about forums! I dont get along with desktop detailers. But you are 💯on point as usual buddy! It all comes down to using a little common sense.
Apex Detail Watch out, you're going to offend some one😂😂😂, BUT, well said.👍
Iam not worried about it. Just look at my sub count compared to channels that blow by me in a heartbeat ❤️! I cater to the small group passionate to learn actual real life detailing....with daily driven cars. That want to be profitable and successful and have their customers leave prideful, with a huge smile from the service you just provide for them. I shall let others point at Amazon products and flap their gums for an hour. Cheers!! Btw glad your part of the family! 🤙🏻
Apex Detail Alright killer, I'm on your team, and still subed, but I get where you're coming from. That's one of the reasons I'm in on what you have going on. You do real cars, and make them come out amazing, NOT already clean supercars. That s#@ doesn't appeal to me, give me the real and keep it pushing. Cheers!
Lol Cheers! 🍻😁
Amazing information for leather. Spray nine product works great. I would have never thought about using a magic eraser. My Honda Accord tan leather will be next. Will advise and update later. Thanks
William H. Wolff Jr. where do you buy Spray nine?
Bahama Mama I read you can buy it at WalMart?
I swear you have the best videos on KZhead so descriptive
Looks great however with the dirty part of the sponge that is going over thread , makes the thread on leather look more and more dingy and dirty. Maybe I can clean the dirt off sponge before going over thread.:) Great job!!! Looks beautiful, thank you!
Good video. I have a 2002 BMW 525i E39 I picked up from an old couple that bought it new. The front two seats are really dirty. Never cleaned and conditioned. Trying to restore them and this info helps.
Thank you! My 4 series coupe has a nasty drivers seat and I’m tired of paying for it to be “detailed” but look like crap after. I have these magic erasers in my house and can’t wait to try it on the a.m.!!
Just test an inconspicuous first to make sure the seats have not been re dyed. not much pressure will be needed at all...just drag the eraser across the surface.
I have a 2015 4 series coupe. If the seats have been re-dyed how will I know? Thanks in advance.

Wow😊 love this so easily done 👍amazing
Thank you for the knowledge
WOW! Thanks for sharing.
I tried this yesterday and it worked incredibly well. Thank you!
FWIW...some good protection to lay down after such a cleaning on the top coat on those leather seats would be something like this.....www.campingworld.com/protect-all-16-oz-w-spray-pump?CAWELAID=120030630000018122&msclkid=495848754a3911abce2c13f5e4ad42a3&B_PLA_NB_CW_AllProducts_All&AllProducts_All It can be used to protect interior materials of all types... non greasy, oily...natural to the touch.
Awesome my 2007 Charger has Tan Leather seats in need of this Eraser and we already use it for other stuff
Robert McCabe what year Dodge offer leather ?
Thanks for letting me know the ratio. Keep safe.
Thankyou for this? you just saved me from buying something I didnt need, and already had :)
Awesome video! I use magic erasers for so many things. Was hesitant to use on my seats till now. Thank you!
Just a little common sense as they are a bit aggressive 😁
Thank you for your knowledge 👍🏻
Hey, great vid so thanks for sharing. QQ. Any chance that magic eraser will work on those grubby seatbelts? If not, what would be your preferred method of getting them as clean as the seats? Thanks again 😃
Where do you buy the QP-ON 3.0 High End ceramic coating?
Even your older videos are awesome.
This has cleaned my soul
Ok I tried this on a nice set of seats I bought from the junkyard and holy crap the look new again.
Thanks again on another informative video. Can you help me clarify some confusion I have: I’ve heard from various detailers that some of the “newer” luxury cars already comes with a factory sealant over the leather- one of which, I was told was on my 2019 Audi A6. Car is always garaged and leather looks brand new, as I usually just maintain it with mild 20:1 Woolite Delicate + water. Should I do a proper leather cleaner, conditioner, sealant now? I know Gyeon and CarPro, for example, have some leather “sealant” now. Sorry, it’s a little confusing hearing different opinions from professional detailers.
Nice job! I just watched a leather repair video that would be great to fill in all those cracks. Leather touch up guy channel
Well done! Will try.
Wow! Just swat those conditioners down by saying, "They don't do squat." That's what I need. I need to know when a product that's sold to all of us DIYers is garbage. Thanks, Brian!
Just wondering if a soft rotating brush would chase the dark stains out of the seams? Particularly on the thigh supporting area.
This looks great. Could you give me the list of products used?
Wow that before and after I just love leather
Simply Tuned That makes two of us!! 👍🏻
@@apexdetail85 What kind of Magic Eraser did you use. What company makes it.
Thank you sir👍
Great idea! I’ll try it on my Porsche.
Beautiful job!!
great job brian as always
Thank you Tito!!! great to hear from ya!! hope all is well!!
"if it does get that bad again SHAME ON YOU but it will be easy to clean" I laughed so hard I spooked my cat
Outstanding video!
I guess a good cleaning every week or so for maintenance but how often should you apply qp on 3.0?. By the way this was a very informative video, thank you.
I love my Black leather seats!!
Great Video Apex! Hey can you use a Tornador on leather???
Oh wow this is amazing
Man I really wish I'd found this video back when I first got my caddy deville. The seats were gross and in attempt to clean them I pulled some dye off the leather. But the good news I bought a caddy seville now and I now know how to fix it.
I've watched many detailing videos but this is the one I will follow. Great job Apex One question is can I use QP-on 2.0 instead? I can't get hands on 3.0 in Australia and get only get 2.0 from ebay
Eric C 3.0 is the same as 2.0 just premixed with water.
Thank you Brian (glad the music choice is better nowadays 😉)
This is the kind of guy you want as your pilot 😂💪🏽❤️🇺🇸
Thanks for the video, worked like a charm on my 2010 Legacy. The seats are cream colored so they looked pretty bad.
Awesome video! You recommend not to use the magic eraser after the first clean? Also in my case, Im using a crystal product name GX3 which is an all around protection product for plastic and leather. Would love if you can check that product up and share your opinions.
You're a Master of your craft.
Just have a lot of time invested into testing. Thanks tho 😀
Great vid. I know I’m a year late but was wondering about 303 as a protection on the leather. 303 has uv protection, with meg spray wax ( as far as I know) does not.
This is a great video !
Thanks!! 👍🏻
great job! what do you use to "protect" the seat? I have some professional grade leather conditioner that i use normally (not autozone crap)--is there something else you would suggest?
Great and thanks for sharing!! What spray are you using?
Great Video. I have just bought a car and whenever i drive it i get a bad taste in my mouth after a few minutes. I am guessing it is the leather seats. will this method help remove the smell? It is a 3 year old car but has been used very little. all help gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
Hi nice video i was wondering is that was soap and water u used to soften the magic eraser and what was that chemical u used to clean the leather seat.
Great video! That QE-3 was nearly $100 a bottle. Did some research and came up with Meguiars G190526 Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray for $15 plus $6 shipping on Amazon. Found all the rest of the stuff on Amazon pretty cheap too. Can't wait to start on my abused 2006 Audi a4 that I traded my perfectly good running 2003 Stratus for, as soon as it gets out of the shop. Ceramic wax is supposed to be super good for paint too. My seats are way dirtier!
How did the Meguiars G190526 Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray work? the QP-One 3.0 on Amazon is $179.95. ouch! Thanks
Glad you asked! I didn't buy it because after researching I found it wasn't a true ceramic wax. Instead I purchased something called "Hocossy liquid nanno coating" It was a true ceramic wax and cost around 25 dollars for a 1 ounce bottle. It took 1/3 oz to do the paint on my entire Audi; but those leather seats soaked too much up after doing a small test area. The car is in the shop and the seats are unsealed. I think I might use a cheap Armorall type product on them next time I clean them. The magic eraer worked wonderful by the way! I bought 500 of the cheap ones from China and now use them to clean my entire apartment complex!
Great video! Are there any other product recommendation to substitute QP-ON 3.0? That product is very hard to come by.
good work my man!
Thanks Juvy!!!
Awesome video 👍, would like to know if this is safe on all color leather?
Thank you for the video! What are you spraying on the magic eraser each time?
quick question, what can i use to clean redyed seats safely without pulling the dye or paint off?
Brian..will the products you used in this video remove a leather refinish kit i used on the leather seats of my Miata which turned out to not match the color of the seats? The seats in my miata are leather but the leather is very hard...not soft...will these products soften the seat leather?Exellent video...thank you.
Nice clean! What did you use? Thank you!
I ran across your videos by accident. We own a Audi Q5 with a leather interior my wife is an ocd/ germaphobe-nut and this looks like the perfect way to clean the interiors hard surfaces after service work has been performed On the vehicle. The one detail that everyone seems to miss and using the Magic Eraser is how you leave it soaking. So i've seen countless others recommend not using the magic eraser on leather. Thanks and we'll see you in the next video.
Bryan I have a question and question at the same time ... what degreaser you used in the boat you use to moisten the magic eraser ... thanks
I love your videos! They are super helpful. I do have a quick question though. I own a 2012 VW passat with tan leather interior. I am planning on doing the magic eraser technique, but i noticed in this video you said no conditioner and other videos you choose the best condition for leather seats. Should i condition? should i not? should i protect it after then condition??? im a little confused.
No conditioner... just protection 😁
