Wild Baby Burros! - Short
Welcome to Oatman, Arizona! This area is well known for both it's ghost town and the wild burros that call this area home! Long ago, when miners went out to their claims, they brought burros instead of horses, as these animals need very little in terms of food and water. They're capable of getting both needs met with the local brush and plant life and as a result, were incredibly hardy and provided companionship for the long, lonely stretches miners experienced in between visits to town. In the event the mine went bust, the miners usually turned the burros loose, and as a result, there are now wild herds roaming a good portion of the desert.
On this afternoon, we were driving a stretch of old Highway 66 and came across a family group with babies! After spotting them grazing on the side of the road, we jumped out to grab some footage. We hope you enjoy these fuzzy little beauties as much as we did!
