this tune is a funny one, where Olena imitates a lyrical voice on a Bregovic trad style tune, showing lots of collusion with Nina...and what a voice! Olena can reach very sharp notes so easily!

This is fun song about lazy girl Hyma (or mb Khyma) and how she sewed sundress.

Due to a lot of hidden meanings and hints understandable only for Ukrainians it is difficult to translate. Just I'll try to explain. Sarafanchyk is type of traditional Moscow female dress. So a girl Khyma walked around a market and bought tools to make threads. But failed. and she went to a bar and got drunk. Next day Monday she was in difficult conditions. Next day she did as much as three threads. On Wednesday, she has shown her result to her boyfriend. He told do not worry - Spring is coming somehow will get a cloth. When weed type grass with wide big leaves ( I don`t know English word) had appeared she made sarafanchyk from those leaves. But goats of local priest came and ate up the sarafanchyk. Got it hidden sense? In Ukrainian folk tradition no girl could be married untill she handmade her full national dress and a lot of rushnyks (that is very special natural embroidered towels). So the song is to ridicule lazy sarafanchyk girls, certainly, that girl and her boyfriend are not Ukrainians.

It's a song about lazy woman named Khyma. She decided to sew a sundress. So she went to a market and bought yarn to twist threads first. The yarn has gone bad and she ended up in a pub that day. On Monday she had hangover. On Tuesday she twisted three threads. On Wednesday shoved threads to her honey. He advised not to bother herself and wait untill spring comes when burdock leaves would gr.ow big enough, he said she would sew a wonderful burdock-sundress. So spring came and Khyma made a burdock-sundre·ss but sudden goats that belonged to a priest ate the whole cloth. This is a joking song. I hope that my English was not so terrible.

@@greg3930 In Ukraine girls never made clothes just from a sun-grass and never put on @saraffanchyk@. OK? One of the most ancient culture who knows how to weave cloth out of linen or hemp at least 8000 years ago. Did you see national Ukraine female cloth ever? So there is hidden sense of the song very fine and beautiful. And "pop" means the orthodox priest, not just a priest of any kind of other religion.
