For years, the high-altitude village of Hanle has been the Pallas's cat's safe abode, but new developments are rapidly altering the habitat. Can these two mother cats keep their kittens safe?

  • I love these fluffy felines no matter how angry they look. I hope border conflicts can be resolved and their natural habitat can be left alone so they can thrive.

  • Think of a post-apocalyptic survival movie, where danger lurks everywhere, but you have to feed the kids. Like The Road or Quiet Place. What we see as entertainment, it's a everyday reality to this mama cat. Nature is cruel. Beautiful but cruel.

    • It's not nature that's cruel. It's the humans releasing dogs, not neutering dogs, rolling out roads across the middle of their home, building houses where they used to hunt, shrinking their habitat.

  • I thought I was going crazy when I "recognized" this cat from a few pictures I've seen of a wet manul carrying prey, and another "flying" over bodies of water. Turns out 5:12 confirmed my guesses, I've even retweeted a picture of this moment on my account! How neat to stumble across this at random!!

  • Such pretty fluffs! I didn't know they could swim! I suppose if they're near a large amount of liquid water, and there's something that looks like food moving in it, they'll go for it.

  • I feel for the poor creature at the start of the video, struggling with its last bit of life to not feel pain/suffer. It was hard to see. The cat, overall, is a marvelous creature though.

    • Fun fact: Many felines are excellent swimmers. Even cats that are reluctant to enter water will swim if necessary. :)

  • Humans constantly go after Pallas' cats for their incredible fur. It is very dense. Humans have the rather fanciful idea that they have the right to take the cats' skin, before the cat is done with it.
