  • Josh Kelly stepped up to a former world champion in his 11th fight. How people can moan that he’s been “exposed” is laughable - him and camp fought he was ready so they took the challenge. He took an L. It’s not the end of the world. Fact is he still tried and didn’t just carry on fighting nobodies to pad his career.

    • Josh Kelly just got battered by a guy who made Lamont Peterson look like Floyd Mayweather and Mean Machine look like Mike Tyson. Let's not pretend Ava is top level because he isn't, but he's certainly a level above Josh Kelly. He has no chance of winning a world title at 147 or 154. He should get a few ribs removed and drop down to 140 lol.

Nearly triple the amount of fights so he’s got the experience - I just think people give people stick to those that take challenges and also for taking easier fights. • Smashed to bits in 6. Ava just gave Kelly a beating that's been marinating for 2 years since Kelly pulled out with a fake injury after the weigh-in 2 years ago. Adam Booth thought he could age Ava and Kelly would be able to stop him lmao - he was wrong.

    • "Illness" not injury. I was at that show and only found out on the night. Lacks mental fortitude in my opinion. Reckon Adam Booth knows that too. Seemed incredibly eager to throw the towel in when things got tough, as if he knew there was no chance of riding it out.

    • @@bigdave7021 No, I totally get it. He does it in every fight. Virtually untouchable first few rounds, then sloooowwwwsss right down as if it’s round 12. Considering he’s in such good shape, they may want to look into a heart check up. It’s not right 😯

  • Problem is Kelly will do a squat thrust to avoid a feeler jab. This is to look cool, but eventually it gasses any fighter out. Adam booth should have immediately slapped that out of him after seeing him gas before. He didn't, which I'm shocked by.

  • Kelly is talented but David was tough and very durable. Kelly needs to work on his short close up combos and clearly defensive work. Relies too much on his reflexes and long-range punches.

It was only recently that Anthony Yarde was doing the same thing and then got ko'd by a JAB and then took an L against some guy named Lyndon Arthur.

  • That style doesn’t work, it’s too clumsy, when you try and do excessive matrix stuff you have already lost... You’re fighting purely for the aesthetic image, being overly concerned with how it appears to the viewer and not focussing on simply getting the win. It only looks good against sh*t fighters. Roy Jones / Mayweather etc only did that kind of stuff when it was absolutely necessary. Kelly did it too much and got exposed more than once. Focus on fighting and fundamentals, not tryna look pretty.

Josh can come back from this but it's going to take sooooooooooo much effort and changes to his set-up. I wish Josh well and hope he can put the effort in to make the necessary changes. Avanesyan could work his way into a World title shot from this.
