    • Exactly... when I was growing up, I was abused physically, mentally, and sexually by my step father. My mother was so traumatized by her childhood that she never stood up to him about it... he was abusive to her as well... and for that fact she was not a loving mother to me... she never hugged me, or told me she loved me... I felt alone in the world... when I had my babies I told myself I would never let them feel what I felt. I tell them every day how much I love them, how proud of them I am, and how much they are valued for who they are. And for that my kids have no trouble in expressing their feelings to me... they have a harder time telling their dad lol but not me... don't get me wrong, their dad is a wonderful father and a big softy lol.... he was also raised in an abusive household.... and he showers our kids with all his love as well... dad just works a lot, so they come to me more... and my daughter tells me that I am the best mother in the world to her and she would hurt anyone who ever thought to hurt me... my kids don't play when it comes to their mom lol

Also, I think you misunderstood the comment you were responding to. I think she was saying she was moved by the 8 year old son saying good things about his dad; she was calling the dad in this video a great dad.

  • I absolutely agree with what Steve said. I, myself, am a father now, and a lot of my friends and even relatives are surprised how very involved and hands-on I have been in raising my child since day one. I think it stems from the fact that I never really experienced intense fatherly love growing up. My biological dad passed away when I was still 3. Then my stepdad was verbally and physically abusive towards me (my mom eventually divorced him). Then I finally experienced having a father figure when I was 16. So when my kid was born. I made sure the same wouldn't happen.

I have been a firm believer for all my life that children are young age or much smarter than we give them credit for❣️❣️ I am so happy to see this father come out and speak in favor of the importance of what I call “ping pong” conversation with his child… Where the child says something and you listen and then you give them verbal acknowledgment that you heard and understood what they were saying😊❣️ His eight-year-old son said the most awesome thing about. He loves his dad and is never gonna let anything happen to him, and he is so thankful to have him for His Dad!! What wonderful children you have and I think you for caring to take the proper steps in raising a child in a loving, tender way. God bless you for sharing all of this with us on KZhead.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

  • I remember watching his and son's video over and over again whenn it first went viral. I'm happy to hear good things have and are coming his way. Keep being the great Dad you are for your sons.
