I actually liked this film. The only issue I had was the ending as it left me wondering whether or not they got together. In the book version Solène and Hayes never got together as she was a player and he was so naive. However in the film version he meets Solène at an art gallery 5 years later and they are both tearfully happy.

Can't believe Anne Hathaway is now in her 40s, feel so old :( Didn't Emma Thompson recently play an older woman in a relationship with a much younger man in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande which was well received?
@AllInTheGame0117 күн бұрын
Leo Grande was a prostitute. Emma's character was paying him for sex after her husband died because she wanted to live again after her sexless marriage. It was not a relationship. Great film though.

He was a sex worker in Leo Grande so more transactional... very sweet film though!

I was expecting this to be some forgettable fluff but found myself crying by the end. It was very sweet and made an excellent point about double standards with age gap romances.

I thought that Anne Hathaway was doing a manic pixie dream "woman", but otherwise it was cheesy but likeable.

I absolutely loved this film, against my better judgment. He looks way too much like a public school rugby player, but it doesn’t matter as they’re both such amazing actors and seem to have incredible chemistry. I loved that it was literally one third snogging!

After watching an interview with him to confirm, it does sound like Nicholas Galitzine is doing a bit of a Harry Styles impression.

Who tf is Harry Styles?! Not every boy band or movie is based on Harry Styles. The author actually based the book on New Kids on the Block

You are right. It is a bit cheesy but I am a rat. Everyone needs a bit of cheese in their lives now and again. I've read the book and enjoyed the movie very much. Just a feel good movie perfectly suitable for when you need something where you don't have to use your brain.

He is annoying, but to whom? I'll bet all 40+ ladies wouldn't think that. All ladies 15+ wouldn't think that. Call it what it is, he is a fantasy figure who's perfect in all areas: the look, the financial power, the appropriate obsessiveness and gutsy moves. He's the soulful, eye candy F*boy all women would love to experience and who eventually turned out not to be a cliche F*boy. All hail Queen Hathaway, who's genuinely hot and not whatever. The only thing not pointed out is the pretty privilege. Beautiful people live different lives, regardless of age. 😊

No it's not just because you don't like it and these dudes reviewing it don't like it doesn't make it a bad movie. I loved the movie and thought it was really good.

It's a bad movie, it's boring, totally predictable and nothing happens of interest. There is zero chemistry between the leads. And finally the actors are only 10 years apart in age which is obvious, making the whole thing ludicrous.

The only issue I have with the film is that for the first 110 minutes, Anne Hathaway is given no makeup and looks HAGGARD. Then the last 3 minutes of the film suddenly she is the most gorgeous woman ever seen. Hair done, makeup looking amazing, less frumpy clothes, etc. How does this make any sense?
