Nolira is an agronomist tasked with establishing agriculture in a new solar system, but when she wakes up on a now- empty colony ship, the whole of her plan disappears. The ship has been set adrift, with numerous mission-critical problems requiring immediate attendance outside of her area of expertise.

This is absolutely terrifying, waking up on a space vessel with tons of people missing and no way of knowing how much time has passed and the only thing you do know is that the ship is drifting into unknown unexplored space. And the thing in Nolira’s abdomen is complete nightmare fuel😱. This is reminding me of a short story by Alastair Reynolds called *Beyond the Aquila Rift* . K.A. Statz is an amazing writer and I am very much looking forward to the mystery

Great to hear! We listen to podcasts while gaming too. Games on mute, mostly, so only certain games work. Building settlements in Fallout 4 got us through a lot of podcasts in the past.

I came here after listening to the white vault
I checked out the channel from austinmcconnel a couple months ago, since i dont really listen to podcast it kinda fell out of my radar. I gave it another chance since i want to listen to something while working on online classes and i just wanna say that i want to slap past me for ignoring this flipping amazing channel for so long. The script and VA are top-notch in my opinion Definitely gonna binge the entire channel.

I like this podcast (found it on spotify) but I don't get why the characters sometime speak to each other in Chinese. A sentence or two to herself is cool but in episode 6 or so, there is a short conversation in Chinese. Lol wut?
The White Vault had me way more confident in my casual understanding of Spanish, because my god I do NOT understand any of the German or Chinese convos😅😂
So far the I'm enjoying the podcast. The accent is difficult though. Why have an obviously Scottish person act a Chinese character? Would it not have made more sense to alter the character or find a more fitting voice?
Our actress is Scottish. She speaks fluent Mandarin and attended university in Taiwan, and now lives in South Africa. We did a casting session when we started the show, and she stood out as having an amazing voice and talent. We are so glad to work with her. And in podcasting, unique voices can really help people differentiate between character and make them more memorable. Glad you are enjoying the show!
