Thanks for watching everyone and in reply to lots of your questions this phase is due to be open in early March 2023 👍
One of the many local lakes for me, great to see work being done on an already great fishery👍
Nice ro see some positive investment and improvement for the future. Canal looks and sounds like my ideal lake. Silvers, skimmers , tench, crusians, etc
Amazing to see the near side undercut so much
Love watching these type of videos, gives you a real insight in to where the fish live and the different contours of the swim.
Had a nice day on Thames last year, bit snaggy on the far side where I was. Good to see the work they're doing.👍
Myself and a few friends have booked to stay at Making for a long weekend in June. This video has really wetted my appetite for our visit. Thanks.
Oh nice hope you have a great stay Dave!
We did some major work on my club lake dealing with undercuts de weeding rebuilding swims and the like it cost thousands of quids Makins expenditure on all those lakes and restocking must be eyewatering
Yes I agree Phil mate!
Great viewing as always Jamie, it’s nice to see the transformation of an already established fishery 👍👍👍
Great Jamie, a interesting look into, what we don't see to often , the owner s may have said they have done this . But here you have shown us all that this work has been done , Thanks, for the video ...
No problem Lee hope you're well mate ;)
Awesome video, big respect to the new owners and staff for all the hard work ! Will be comming over in the summer ☀️ . Also cannot wait to see what they are planning for phase 1 lake 1 for the specimen fishing . So lucky to have this fishery so close to home
Thanks mate 😃
Love these videos. Fantastic. Top work. Thank you. 🐳👍👏
always interesting to see this side of fishing
Fished here end of August last year if I remember correctly. Great fishery with plenty of different options for all types of angler. Will hopefully be back again from Scotland this year.
Yes there's a nice variety isn't there :)
Liking the sound of Anchor lake(canal), crusians and tinkers
A great video Jamie, Im looking forwars to fishing the Anchor pool 🤞🤞🤞
Love these type of videos. Some awesome looking pools there, would love to fish the canal type 👌🍻
Having spent many a day fishing all Phases (3). it is nice to see the changes taking place on phase 3. All the changes make a lot of sense especially the getting rid of inner Avon. I hope that they will extend the renovations to the other 2 Phases. Thanks Jamie for the quality Video and look forward to the stocking video's Cheers. PS. Jon Arthur will be spending even more time coaching here.
Great insight again Makins is now on my bucket list to fish I would love to give you a match on Severn lake in doing 😉
😂😂 thanks Graham!
Great fishery being improved, will be buying my season ticket. Keep up the work with great video's.
Nice one thanks Trevor!

Cracking vid jamie love the draining off lakes
Thanks mate 👌
Another interesting video good insight into the work being carried out well done
Thanks Tony 👍
Anchor is the one we fished last year before it's been touched and was a great day's fishing. Pulled carp out nearly every cast.
Looks nice to fish that lake mate
@Catch Fishing Channel Yeah was great a small waggler and corn worked amazing as soon as it hit the water nearly every time under the overhanging bushes far side.
Can’t wait to fish it Jamie
Great informative video Jamie
Thank you! 👌
Great video, enjoy these videos 👍👍
Thanks Ian 👌
Proud to call it my local 🎉, loved the video and can’t wait to see you fish Severn…when will that video be out?
Hopefully within the next week or two mate
@@CatchFishingChannel brilliant, was on phase 2 last week and had 3 carp in Baltic conditions so very interested!
Another great vid
Lve these videos! Do they get special people in to manage the draining and what work to be done and then refilling and restock? Or, is it just general knowledge?
Thanks mate, for the stocking etc I think they all know what can (and should be done) but I think they get contractors in for some of the construction stuff mate.
So, what happened to all the fish whilst this work was happening?
I haven't fished Makns for about 25 years and it's only about 10 minutes from my house
😂😂
It's all about the adventure
IMO Avon was one of the most interesting and characterful lakes on any commercial, and he's ruined it. :(
That's a shame mate but I think it was changed before Andy arrived wasn't it mate 😔
@@CatchFishingChannel ?????? No. 8:50 "I said that's not right" Great that's he's thinking of fish welfare. Hopefully he'll reduce the number of matches, and rest lakes. Makin's has always had a disproportionate number of fish with deformed mouths.
@@EddiePedalo that's the trouble with heavily pressured commercial day ticket waters lots have fish with deformed mouths. fin damage etc mostly caused by bad anglers and poor handling when caught using dodgy hooks .rigs etc .isn't just this venue .reason I fish syndicate waters and places with strict rules
@@michealadderley9081 You're not wrong there my friend. It happens because noddies, both pleasure and match, tear hooks out of fish's mouths, because they don't know how, or can't be bothered to use a disgorger. If the fish are being caught twice a week, they'll probably be hooked again before the wound has a chance to heal, and the leader cuts into the wound and increases the damage. If heavily fished waters are rested and rotated, like many fisheries do, it gives the fish a chance to heal.
Pegs are too close together. Looks like the main consideration was money rather than providing a good fishery.
Unreal fishing has come to mud puddles.
Not really, whatever floats your boat, always good to have a choice nowadays. Barren-ish lakes aren't my preference but then they often provide us anglers with sport and facilities (ideal for newcomers/women/disabled especially)
@@WoolavyLeeWilliams depends on your idea of sport. Give me Roach etc on Loch Lomond any day. I would say its actually cruel hauling the same daft carp out every day. Just me though.
Yes Jamie very interesting should of made the video longer, and you got in there again to see the transformation lol, Thank you
Haha thanks James mate!
