It was bad enough having () idle and IU coming back at the same time, and the rowboat of emotions these prereleases have been. Moonbyul then announcing her first full album, and I swear I will not survive the month - my 3 favourite artists all having comebacks in one month.
Same way I vibe in my car when my kpop playlist is on shuffle. Never gonna know what mood I'm switching to next 🤭
KBS banned "Wife" do to the sexual lyrics, but we really know they're mad at Soyeon for once again speaking up against the mistreatment of women, particularly in Korea.
KBS literally banned Twice's ICON for word "damn" so I kinda expected it
KBS tends to poop their pants if more than one person is offended about something... and some people get offended about everything these days.
Then CUBE put out a statement saying they would reapply and consider changing the lyrics, followed by a statement saying they would not reapply or change the lyrics. 😭Soyeon must've whooped somebody's ass.

Miyeon and Shuhua rapping though 😍 I’ve seen so many negative comments about this song and I don’t get what the issue is?! It’s so refreshing too to see a girl group in baggy, comfortable clothes and not relying on skimpy outfits to sell a song! I love that! ❤ I don’t typically enjoy girl groups, XG are the only other ones I Stan but G-Idle are different. I love that they don’t conform to the typical k-pop stereotype, they do their own thing and I really admire that ❤
If there wasn't already a (G)Idle, someone would have to invent one. Music needs groups/artists who march to the beat of their own drum. They're particularly necessary in a a Conservative country. They speak their mind and I'm sure they speak for a lot of people who don't have their platform.
The lyric videos all say “ want me as your wife but she is” but I’m fairly sure they are actually saying “ …won’t be a/your wife, but she is…” each girl says it as if they are passing the role of wife to the next girl before finally all of the girls sing that none of them will be your wife. And coco loco is cocoroco it’s just that l/r in Korean sounds similar.

It's probably more like "... want me to wipe your sh**...", and later "I don't want to wife (wipe), wife (wipe), wife (wipe)."
i don't think coco loco is actually roco, Yuqi has a really accurate english pronouncation and even when she sings it, it definitely sounds like a "L", idk tho just sharing my thoughts

LOOOOVE!!! Also, the "Heat" album - I Do, I Want That, Tall Trees, Eyes Roll - was SOOO SOOO SOOOOOOOO GOOD! It was 100%, a no-skip album for me.
I love this song. To me it gives very 2nd gen vibes with the campiness, and Fergie/Pharrell vibes musically. A lot of people are calling this "my bag 2.0" and it so is. I love that Soyeon gave the 3 fastest raps to the members that aren't officially rappers. My guess is the lack of captions is because the Korean innuendos just wouldn't translate well. I do think that they deliberately use the Korean pronounciation of "f" in "wife" - at the beginning they sing it more like "wipe" - so the chorus kind of sounds like "want me to wipe but sh** is", but sing it as "wife" later. Also i love that they only lip sync the ending.
I read from another comment that the rap flow is inspired by JJ Fab's Supersonic. The flow and the use of a white background in their music video is very similar! Loved that all members of IDLE can rap now and Miyeon/Shuhua (Tom & Jerry) rappers? Like bruh, I can't hahaha! I personally loved the flow/sound of Minnie's the best in this song. Something just hits right for me with her verse
“But I don’t wanna wife” I always thought that line meant I don’t wanna be your wife But as i read again it seems like soyeon is using it as a verb I don’t wanna do/be traditional wife

I like this song and I like that (G)I-dle are unpredictable and always surprising and not afraid of anything or anyone. Free spirits.
Oh My God, I really had to digest this one when it dropped. I love the visual aesthetic of the MV. They did so much with just the members dancing and clothes swap edit. I am still processing the music, it’s so unexpected and has been an earworm since it came out. It doesn’t sound like something I would keep coming back to, but the MV pulls me back. I feel like I have a handle of the message of the song and am ready to support anybody who wants to maintain independence against expectations. I trust I am missing a ton of nuance in the actual word choice of the lyrics. Even with translation and the English pieces it still confuses me. I made myself watch all the reactions that came up just to figure out my thoughts on it. Glad you uploaded yours, I tend to agree with your take on most group’s songs.
G idle always makes bops so many different things going with their voices and range as performers and vocalists that you're really enjoying the song and every single member charisma and presence

Heat has been on heavy rotation for me too. Eyes Roll stays in my top 5. Wife is so unserious but also very serious. I'm not surprised KBS banned it but they're the only ones that have and I don't think we should bother being mad over that.

About Heat album, you have to take into account that they were only perforners of something someone else produced.
For me, this song reminds me of Fergie - Fergalicious and The Black Eyed Peas- My Humps. With (G)I-dle music, I always quite see and hear their references, cuz they always use the popular ones, but then they are always good with remixing all the references to make their own.

idle fan since their debut, and yeah I just can't listen to Heat album outside of I Do. Glad for the people that love it though. It was just too apparent how they had nothing to do with the music production side of things. Wife on the other hand oozes the members expression, can't wait for full Album!

I think the whole video and lyric concept was very purposeful. Like how they aren’t singing along, represents how they need to stay quiet. And the lyrics, because of the intonation, I found it hard to figure out the meaning, but again, I think Soyeon did that on purpose. I think they went off but kept it vague so there’s a lot of questions as to what the intentions were. But the fans know 😎 we know 🤭

Its not an all English song But CUBE is late to put the english captions lol Also they might change the lyrics cuz of KBS Also i think i know why they didn't lip sync Its bcuz they dont want to be "wives" The singing is like their sarcastic way like "i wanna be your wife"(not) The only thing they lip sync is the end saying "wife, i make you feel so high i make youf eel like lis but i dint wanna wife"
