The Ballon d'Or (French pronunciation: [balɔ̃ dɔʁ] (listen); lit. 'Golden Ball') is an annual football award presented by French news magazine France Football since 1956. Between 2010 and 2015, in an agreement with FIFA, the award was temporarily merged with the FIFA World Player of the Year (founded in 1991) and known as the FIFA Ballon d'Or. That partnership ended in 2016, and the award reverted to the Ballon d'Or, while FIFA also reverted to its own separate annual award The Best FIFA Men's Player. The recipients of the joint FIFA Ballon d'Or are considered as winners by both award organisations.

  • I dont know why everyone seems to say see 35 y/o messi is competing with young generation first its football its a game we don't see your age as an excuse or a measure to see how good you are... Also messi being 35 is not the right way to justify his nature.. He is one of the greatest if not the greatest player ever... and more over he is currently playing and dominating that shows his talent mindset and determination to just keep on and that is why he is the greatest please say see 35 y/o messi dont do that he is a current player and hopefully will keep on playing and will keep on entertaining us as long as he desire and also just give him 2023 ballon d'or he deserves it more than anyone yet
