My mom is an artist with dementia. I was able to sit with her and replicate this work to the best of our abilities. We had fun and I have a great memory with her as well as a pretty painting. Thank you so much.

This painting reminded me of when I was 8 years old...used to go to my painting classes with my mother, under an umbrella; one rainy evening it was looking all the same like in this painting, the road that we were walking to reach my class...and a couple walking somewhere in front of us; the cloudy sky...it brought back all the memories of the day.

I have never painted and this has inspired me to try. This picture reminds me of my husband and I. We’ve have been through a hard 10 months and we have found such comfort going for walks in the woods in the rain with our umbrella. I am going to paint this for him as a gift for our 25 year anniversary. I hope I do it justice!

Não tive uma noção do quanto isso iria me ajudar. Pouco a pouco os momentos de tristeza e solidão foram dando lugar a uma paz de espírito reconfortante, fui me recuperando com o passar dos dias. Digo isso porque a arte das paisagens tem um poder tranquilizante muito eficaz sobre a minha mente, é como se eu tivesse vivido alguma vida em um lugar assim, é como se eu sempre sentisse saudades de algo que não vivi ou não tenho como recordar, mas está aqui, guardado em meu coração e minha alma. Hoje eu e meu marido estamos juntos novamente. Obrigado por ter me ajudado a segurar a barra nesse período tão doloroso de minha vida.

One of the things that separates incredibly talented artists from us mere mortals is the confidence not to stop, but to keep going. Every time another element was added I became anxious, literally holding my breath, because I couldn't see what was beyond these actions. Artists know their way around their world, whilst the rest of us are completely lost. I am in awe.

I am not a wealthy man, but I would easily pay at least $250 for this painting right now, knowing full well that it took 10 minutes to make. This painting transports me to another place and time in my life almost as well if not better than a photograph! It would also make an amazing gift for someone I love.
The thing that i think is the coolest about this is that they are using very simple techniques to paint such a beautiful painting. It really makes me feel like anyone can make art, as long as they are determined enough.

One minute in, it looks like there’s no way this “finger painting” could turn into anything good. But, with some use of textures, and borrowing from Impressionism and pointillism, he easily made something that’s very pleasing to the eye.

I think the coolest part about this video was the execution, the techniques. Watching the creativity of how this was made really added to magic of watching it develop. It was mesmerizing watching each new addition and slowly realizing what it was becoming.

i love how they used everyday items like the tinfoil ball, the bundled up q-tips, and the card. it makes it a lot easier for the person who wants to copy it and get the things they need to do so.

Hey rude ass, this isn't the way an artist would normally do this. It's a huge drain on resources. They're doing it this cut and dry so that the method is accessible to people who don't normally do this. Try it.

You think this is amazing art for the artist? Nope. Its tantamount to "how to draw a cartoon character" just a bit more complex. And it really isnt that complex. Maybe bust out these tools and give it a shot. Can virtually guarantee youll be surprised... You see the vids on those that watched Bob Ross (never having seen him before)and then attempted to duplicate. Granted they didnt turn out Ross quality but they did surprisingly well having no previous art experience.

This painting reminded me of when I was 8 years old...used to go to my painting classes with my mother, under an umbrella; one rainy evening it was looking all the same like in this painting, the road that we were walking to reach my class...and a couple walking somewhere in front of us; the cloudy sky...it brought back all the memories of the day.

I have never painted and this has inspired me to try. This picture reminds me of my husband and I. We’ve have been through a hard 10 months and we have found such comfort going for walks in the woods in the rain with our umbrella. I am going to paint this for him as a gift for our 25 year anniversary. I hope I do it justice!

Há 9 meses atrás meu marido havia me deixado, eu perdi o ânimo pra tudo, mergulhei numa tristeza definhante, estava entrando em um quadro depressivo até que comecei a ver seus vídeos sempre que deitava pra dormir. Não tive uma noção do quanto isso iria me ajudar. Pouco a pouco os momentos de tristeza e solidão foram dando lugar a uma paz de espírito reconfortante, fui me recuperando com o passar dos dias. Digo isso porque a arte das paisagens tem um poder tranquilizante muito eficaz sobre a minha mente, é como se eu tivesse vivido alguma vida em um lugar assim, é como se eu sempre sentisse saudades de algo que não vivi ou não tenho como recordar, mas está aqui, guardado em meu coração e minha alma. Hoje eu e meu marido estamos juntos novamente. Obrigado por ter me ajudado a segurar a barra nesse período tão doloroso de minha vida.

One of the things that separates incredibly talented artists from us mere mortals is the confidence not to stop, but to keep going. Every time another element was added I became anxious, literally holding my breath, because I couldn't see what was beyond these actions. Artists know their way around their world, whilst the rest of us are completely lost. I am in awe.

The simplicity of how this painting was made is what makes it all the more striking. 🎨
One minute in, it looks like there’s no way this “finger painting” could turn into anything good. But, with some use of textures, and borrowing from Impressionism and pointillism, he easily made something that’s very pleasing to the eye.

@@JasonVickriet1 I think most people would say this guy is pretty talented, but that's just my opinion. You make it sound like an insult. Obviously talent means nothing without hard work. People can become talented over years of practice and dedication.
Painters are amazing! But they can undo mistakes; even the most famous paintings have been found to have "mistakes" painted over, it is quite common.

There are ways to “undo” mistakes in oil painting. It’s not like having the wrong leg amputated.

I think the coolest part about this video was the execution, the techniques. Watching the creativity of how this was made really added to magic of watching it develop. It was mesmerizing watching each new addition and slowly realizing what it was becoming.

I'll never understand how people can just think of something they wanna draw and it comes out as beautiful as this painting. I guess hard work and perspiration but, I believe there's even more to it then that. You've got an extremely good talent at painting, I love that you use more then just a paint brush too!

I guess that's a good way to gauge why so many people view this as "the best painting they've ever seen" they haven't been exposed to very much art or think all art is is a class you take in school to make spin art or clay mugs..

i love how they used everyday items like the tinfoil ball, the bundled up q-tips, and the card. it makes it a lot easier for the person who wants to copy it and get the things they need to do so.
I bet if I tried to replicate that it would just be a mess of acrylic paint in the end 😅

Hey rude ass, this isn't the way an artist would normally do this. It's a huge drain on resources. They're doing it this cut and dry so that the method is accessible to people who don't normally do this. Try it.
The whole grid thing? That's for your benefit. Now I can't say that this is your standard painting hacks but the methodology doesn't help the artist it helps you learn if you're willing.

You think this is amazing art for the artist? Nope. Its tantamount to "how to draw a cartoon character" just a bit more complex. And it really isnt that complex. Maybe bust out these tools and give it a shot. Can virtually guarantee youll be surprised... You see the vids on those that watched Bob Ross (never having seen him before)and then attempted to duplicate. Granted they didnt turn out Ross quality but they did surprisingly well having no previous art experience.
