The reason Lucas and Dawn are holding Repeat Balls in their Platinum artwork is because you're repeating their adventures
"The most perfect pokemon to catch in a love ball would be a shiny jangmo-o because it has a pink heart on his head" Luvdisc : 😢
Respect for luvdisc.
Lets be real Nobody is gonna get it on a love ball, the only reason to catch it is for the dex
You forgot the fact that Jessie used a luxury ball that James had in his collection to catch her mimikyu. Probably one of her most prominently featured Pokemon right next to her OG Arbok.
Wobbuffet is Jessie's, I think that's more prominently featured, no?
@@Dougbro1 Lickytongue too
@@nitzanshu4695was traded for wobbuffet
The three lines on the lure ball could also be 川 It's one of the first kanjis japanese kids learn and sleeping between ones parents (as kids often do after they had a nightmare for example) is even relatively commonly referred to as sleeping like a river, so safe to say the kanji does hold a special place to japanese kids (y'know, kinda like the target audience for the games?)
Yeah, i was wondering if the three lines might be for "river"
If anybody's confused about the moon ball, it's supposed to be any pokemon that evolved with a moon stone, but there was a typo in the code with the item value being off. Easy enough to fix, but went unnoticed.
heh....evolves with a burn heal
easy to notice if you are coding today
Also technically kierans master ball failed, but after the capture already happened
true
Not really since he caught it
@@Boltofbrilliance122 and couldn't return it
@@easternwoyer3876 Ash couldn't return Pikachu so did he fail to get pikachu
@@Boltofbrilliance122 no Pikachu just didn't want to return and ash respected it,
The 'peso' in the 'peso ball' in legends Arceus in the Spanish translation comes from the word 'weight' as it comes from the literal translation of 'weight ball'
Also the "Pokémon being able to shrink themselves" thing was also referenced in Gen 7. During one scene your mother talks about wanting to be able to shrink your boxes like Pokémon to make moving easier.
If you think Alomomola's name is crazy, wait until you learn about Girafarig
Also Eevee and Ho-oh...
Farigiraf, too
Don't play a drinking game where when he says "ball" you drink. You will die at minute 7.
The enemy pokemon in Unite are holograms. That's why they can respawn while you watch them.
Beast Ball is my favorite. Absolutely love its design. I have Eternatus, my favorite poké, in one.
I would've used one on Eternatus too, but didn't have one yet by the time I fought it.
@@wikiuser92 I actually restarted my Shield playthrough because I wanted to re-capture Eternatus in a Beast ball. Have no regrets at all. I even have a shiny Eternatus from the 2022 event, but I keep using my regular one soley because the Beast ball looks so good.
The Green Pokeball can actually be seen on one of the cover arts of the Pokémon Adventures manga. On Volume 9 of the Gold & Silver arc, Silver is holding a green Pokeball
Regarding masterball: SV DLC spoiler alert! It also failed to re-capture the terrastallized legendary
yeah when i saw it break i was like *W H A T????*
In the manga, Bruno had nunchuck Pokeballs, Falkner had boomerang Pokeballs, and Bugsy had a bug net Pokeball
Necrozma, Terapagos, and Eternatus are funny because they have the easiest catch rate to capture in. Which confuses me on how Leon failed to catch Etneratus after weakening it with Ultra Ball.
Plot lol
Leon failed with a poke ball
I REALLY wish we have a cameo of Sam's Vintage Ball again! Imagine seeing an old trainer unscrew it as a throwing animation 😊
Do you guys notice that Ritchie's ball kinda resembles the springs in Sonic the Hedgehog games?
I like to think a lot of the unusual Pokeballs with minor changes are just Pokeballs with seals on them like in gen 4.
Smart using James in the thumbnail, since it’s canon he collects pokeballs.
I like to think that Kurt eats the apricorns. Basically he just breaks off part off it and then eating the inside of it like it’s some kind of hard nut inside or whatever
The thing with the Love Ball and Jangmo-o was really funny to me because I did exactly that only 2 days ago
In Germany they are called Superball and Hyperball too Pretty cool Video! Its that kind of video I didnt know I need, but i did. Make a video about the inside of Pokéballs :)
In german the leadon Ball is called "Zehntner Ball" a "Zehntner" is 50 Kilos and the gigaton Ball is called "Tonnen Ball" (Ton ball) which is 1000 Kilos
We see Pikachu’s Pokéball later on. My guess is the bolt symbol is a sticker.
My favorite Ball is Beast Ball and didn’t know that about the Japanese name is Ultra.
All Pokémon having the ability to minimize makes me wonder if they can grow in size. There’s Alpha Pokémon from Legends Arceus, but I wanna now if Pokémon can we willingly. Imagine fighting tree size Rattatas.
I THOUGHT WE LEARNED OUR LESSON AFTER THE DARKEST DAY
@@CraftingGummi We were suppose to learn a lesson?
Many of the Japanese Names for Pokeballs are also the german ones. Superball, Hyperball and Ultraball (Beastball in english)
Another cool thing about Dusk Balls is that they always work in Max Raids and in Area Zero
Happy new year ya’ll! Fobs I’m so glad I’ve been watching you for years now! I hope everyone has a great 2024 and take care of ur selves!
Love your videos. Watch em when they come out ❤❤
That's so innovative for you to use James as the "Pokeball Galore" in the thumbnail.
Actually the great ball and the ultra ball are also called super ball and hyper ball in others languages (like french).
What a perfect timing for me trying to make a list of every Poké ball ever
I hope in a new pokemon game they give us the option to like customize pokeballs like let us paint or change the colors of them, that would be kinda cool
There are so many cool different type of pokeballs. This is amazing!
_This was a great watch! 👍🏾_
10:23 I got this art as an official poster for pre ordering Moon years ago, still up on my wall in my room
Congratulations, Mr. Dobbs, on achieving one million subscribers!
He hasnt gotten there yet,lol
Fun fact: Lococo's Ball's design with the button on the top is actually based on the original concept art for the first design for Pokeballs. You push the button and the top twist down to fully open the top for the Pokemon to hop out.
I always thought that the three lines on the lure ball were for the kanji of river
4:32 I mean I basically did that if you consider Raging Bolt a legendary. Pokeballs are rather intresting to think about, you're telling me this stuffs made apricots and is capable of catching live creatures, not mentioning there being so many diffent varaitions, is cool.
The only Paradox Pokémon officially considered Legendaries are Miraidon and Koraidon.
0:39 Even in french we call them Super Ball and Hyper Ball, seems logic to me because of the motifs
James is drooling while watching this vid seeing all of those poke balls he doesn’t have in his collection 💀
Happy new year dobbs ❤
Fun Fact: The scrolling list on the Quick Ball is because, due to its high catch rate modifier of x5, capture is certain with a catch rate higher than 153. As of SV DLC, there are 244 species with such a high catch rate.
The hisuian Ultraball looks so good with the patterns it has
I caught my shiny Jangmo-o in Kitakami in a love ball for that exact reason 😍
The next Legends game was already hinted in the Wing Ball. The symbol of the Wing Ball means Floriday Liz 8:02. Kalos Region is based in France. Legends A-Z.
4:04 I didn’t know that about the net ball!
It takes a lot of balls to make a video like this, man, congrats
Great video bro, interesting facts.
The dive ball thing with Tropius isnt a glitch though, its working as intended. It also had a boosted catch rate against Zubat and Wingull you encountered while surfing in past games. Encountering them while on water is the only requirement.
Happy new year! And new Oak's balls
I thought the pokeballs transfer captured pokemon to a sort of simulation tailored to the caught pokemon instead of them JUST shrinking. SSBB had something like that mentioned in it's trophy description and it is a somewhat reasonable explanation for them returning via a sort of red laser.
I realized that if you have pokemon in timer or repeat balls when u use them in battle there will be an effect, with the timer ball, partices that look like clocks scatter around the pokemon and the repeat ball, there will be 2 arrows chasing each other representing repeat. Also those effects are only avaliable in the Gen 9 games
6:27 terapagos casually being on the list
6:24 Necrozma: Hello :)
Awesome video to bring in the new year. Listened on my way to work and watched it after work. Set me up for a good day!
tried to sneak this by us 20 minutes before the new year, but you can't fool me! I'M ALWAYS WATCHING!
3 hours away for me lol 😂
My favorite Pokéballs are the Love ball and the Crystal Pokéball from my favorite movie Pokémon Movie 3 Spell of the Unown so thank you for including the Crystal Pokéball during your intro at 0:07 😄💙
The pocket monster ball reminds me of the capsules from one of the rumble games
7:34 when Pokémon is sus
On my childhood copy of Pearl, I caught Palkia with a nest ball. Good times.
I think one of the most underrated things about Pokemon is the Pokeballs. I love trying to catch Pokemon in different ones so my team look unique although my Ghost Type team is mostly Dusk except for a Pokeball, Net Ball, and Quick Ball
The reason they haven't fixed the Poke ball on the back of the card is because it would make all older cards incompatible with the newer ones.
My favorite looking pokeballs are dream, dive, and heavy. The hisuen balls are pretty neat looking too. A lot of the unusable pokeballs are cool too, like the green or transfer balls
I thought I was cool catching necrozma in a quick ball back in moon. Turns out that was intended
The contest ball: Alright this is my turn! Wait no.. Ok now this is! Oh..
2:40 i think those 3 lines may represent the 3 water egg groups
5:13 Giacomo: “am I a joke to you?”
FINALLY!!!! A NORMAL THUMBNAIL YAY!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite is luxury ball and beast ball because of the designs ✨
10:02 I wouldn't be able to catch Toxtricity either, I never get its name right
6:24 Hold on NECROZMA
I'm embarrassed as a long-time pokemon fan that there were so many I was completely clueless to the existance of, lol.
Very fascinating stuff sitting here for 17 minutes talking about Balls 😂
I love how canonically James is just a pokeball collector on the side. Villains can have hobby’s
First video of the new year omg wow
Typing ball would not be broken for me because I am dyslexic 💀
With all the wacky custom balls in the anime, it's crazy we've never had a game where you can simply paint your pokeballs different colours.
That's hilarious. A video about pokéballs coming out right after I finish my suicide mission of catching Chien_Pao in a dive ball.
He missed the fact the master ball broke when keyren was trying to retrain terapagos back to him
I always saw the lines on the Lure Ball to be representative of reeds by a river Also I can't help but think Pokéballs originally have the ability to capture already owned Pokémon, but they were programmed so they couldn't due to outrage and complications. Not like an Apricorn ball would be able to recognise a Pokémon already being owned - and the Snaggem "charging" is simply hacking the ball itself to remove the limitations of the software (jailbreaking the OS to remove the security restrictions). That's also why evil teams who make their own Pokéballs can catch already owned Pokémon. They don't put that limitation on their illegal balls in the first place, because they're already breaking the law
Then how are primitive Legend Arceus Pokeballs not able to capture other Pokemons?
Most people don't even use Pokéballs in L:A. Still can't throw a Pokéball at a Irida's non-caught Glaceon since that would just be rude. Was just my thought on why some balls can catch already-caught 'mons in the anime, and why a special machine makes normal balls able to as well.
Wait I didn’t know they changed the timer ball from 30 turns to 10 turns. Every time when I go up against say like a mythical/legend I would usually use a timer ball since it’s one of my favs, so I’ve been waiting every 30 turns to get the highest catch rate. Atleast I don’t have to do that anymore
I remember my friend was trying to catch Groudon on an Emerald Rom. He asked me to toss a round of them. Got it with the last ball.... a Nest Ball lol
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel I love this video and channel Thanks you for your video and channel I love Pokemon all franchise
I think it would be a really cool game mechanic for you to get stickers and put them on your pokeballs and then they would just look a little cooler and stuff
When said the quick ball is the 2nd best ball, its probably the best because I caught all my legendary Pokémon by using quick balls after 11-25 turns, which is weird, but at least it works. (At least in paldea)
Bonus Fact for the Great Ball: In the Pokemon Adventures manga when Red sees the Rocket Members They have Great Balls on their Belts and there is an S on them
13:03 legends was abt like 300 years ago homie
Fun fact in the indigo disk kieran catches terapagoes with a master ball and when he tries to terastalize it the master ball cracks in half
The "Pokemon can shrink themselves" is one of the dumbest possible outs they could've come up with. What was honestly so bad about the energy transformation/small outside but big inside environment dealie for them? So does the return laser... force them to autoshrink? What?????????? Really just dumb. I can overlook the Pokemon size disparities(hard to tell if they came up with it over people wanting huge Lopunnies or were butthurt Nidokings were originally shorter than adult males) because those seem natural, but "le magic shrinking Pokemon power" just makes me roll my eyes when Minimize is a literal move and apparently they all know it but not really.
You forgot to mention the pokeball is based on Campbell's soup red and white design.
As a kid, I didn't know what gold-plated meant, so when Meowth scratched off some of the gold plating from James' Pokéball, I thought he made it bleed.
8:30 this fact doesn't make much sense considering that ball is called Gigaton Ball and that's clear evidence that it weighs a trillion kilograms
God that’s so weird I never realized that until now that movie was a foreshadow to ash catching a lucario in journeys because his ancestor had one lol
Timer ball has been used in the a movie also of Cebipy
There are probably a lot a uniquely colored Pokéball in the anime, I remember Ambipom's ball being purple
