Working at a dealership with a bodyshop, the manager was responsible for test driving EVERYTHING that left the shop and it always left the shop spotless and fresh inside. Our owner believed in word of mouth and making sure the customer was 110% happy. “ an extra 30 mins in labour can make the difference in a happy customer and an unhappy one”.
My first day out the shop is always been my most stressful day, is not negativity, is called the reality of my 44 years trucking life experience OTR! After that first day out of a mechanic shop things get a little better specially if you're OTR, if you're working locally your stressful level isn't as bad, it does better.... Hopefully! This old WVA fella is sure glad to see you back on the road. I'm 65 and a retired truck driver. Basically drove dump trucks the last twenty years I drove. I miss the hell out of it. But at least I have you to ride along with. Now let's go haul some stone 😊

The body shop techs likely forgot to put the noise deadener pads back when the reassembled the door. Pop the door pad off and take a look. It's easy to replace. While you're at it,check the hush pads and knee bolsters on the fire wall and side vents.

It's great to see you have the truck back. You will be back in the saddle in no time with the trailer hooked up. Sure you will still be feeling it out to see what else maybe wrong but it will get sorted out.

Great o see you back in action, will be looking forward to more videos . I on the other hand getting ready to get out, time to retire , well that's the plan but I have a feeling I'm going to miss it, .Been at it for 43 years as a company driver and don't like the new technology it's been driving me crazy and I really don't need any extra help with that, I'm just going to enjoy life for a little but will probably find something new to do, been working since I was 14 years old doing one thing or another I'll need to find something to keep busy.

Happy that you got your baby back. I would of been in a straight jacket if my Pete was down as long as yours was. Mine was about 4 or 5 weeks and when I picked her up at the body shop I felt complete and I was home about again. Good luck girl please be safe on the road with the idiots 🙏

Hi Dominique, nice to see you got your truck back , I recall you saying they had to put a new passenger side door on it , there are sound deadening materials that may not have been put in the new door , ask the body shop that worked on it to see if they forgot to put some in before they put the interior door pad back on it .. they make some sticky backed stuff called Q pads they are 12" x 12" square and , you can usually get like 2 of them in a door , they can be bought at a paint supply store then your husband can install them for you if you want , it isn't that hard just need to pull the interior door pad off , put the stuff in and button back up , Oh also make sure all the weather strip is on all the way around the door and the door opening so that it is good and sealed , that could be why its all loud too , ok well good luck to you talk to you another time then. Looks like the body shop got a lil sloppy on a few things …. If they had the door off the should have sealed the opening with plastic…. Glad to see you got your truck back 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼
They had the entire dash apart at one point. There is so much dust back there, it would be impossible to keep out of the cab.

I lost my western star when my ticket was pulled but I came back to a truck like yours and I gotta say as a 6'2" 265 lb man I don't fit in a kenworth at all lol my foot constantly falls off the accelerator pedal and my left knee bangs the door handle all day long 😢 congrats on getting your ride back 😊

Congrats on getting truck back, when it sits for 3+ months it’s worse than it working for 3+ months. Things freeze up,things dry rot, leak etc. Hopefully you can start generating revenue soon. I’m amazed at the amount of roundabouts, ( rotaries, traffic circles) or as I like to call them here in Massachusetts cruster fuks. 👍 I hope my comment doesn’t come off as negative,it’s just 40 years of owning, working on and driving trucks. One tip on cleaning the bodyshop dust, run your heat/ac fans for a while first .
They should have changed the steer axle in your truck to a 20,000lb like it should have been spec'd with when it was built.

Welcome back. You say it sounds louder. I've noticed that after I've been home for a while and get back in the truck, mine seems louder also. I think I just get used to the sound and tune it out.

It's funny that you noticed someone had changed your Jake setting almost immediately. I had to drop my truck off a few weeks ago for a recall repair, and when I picked it up I hadn't even driven it 1 mile when I noticed they had changed my exhaust brake setting!!! Lol!!!
