The song, lyrics, choreography, aesthetics, production and quality of this song, and Jimin's full EP, deserved to be first K-solo artist to be #1 on BB Hot 100. Jimin deserves all the accollade, awards, and notoriety bestowed to brilliant artists! This was the best of the best, most jaw-dropping performance so far this year. The hateful things that some so called OT7 ARMY/solo stans/antis were posting was disgusting... to focus on the intermittent auto-tune used for artistic background vocal and calling Jimin all kind of hateful names to this day (5 months later) is the most evil part of social media. I hope that all of us who see Jimin's body of work for the work of art it is, can drown out all the hate.

This is Jimins anthem for sure. He said the only one who can set himself free is him and I believe he has just done that with this song. I had no doubt he had this in him but I still wasn't expecting this. His duality has always showed as part of BTS but now he has arrived as a bonifide solo artist one of the best not just in kpop but all of the music industry. Im so proud of him and how hard he has worked, he never once gave up no matter how hard it got for him and now he has set himself free and the possibilities are endless for him. Simply stunning !!!! I got goosebumps from the high wails in the choir to all the swarming choreo to the intensity in Jimin’s eyes… I can’t believe this isn’t the ‘main’ song. It’s ON’s little sister and Jimin commanded the power of all seven of them on that track in this
“I wont stop even if you mock me” for me this line was the true heart breaker especially when we think of all Jimin as gone through. So much hate out of all the members gets thrown his way. In the beginning it was his weight so he starved himself then they mocked him for starving himself and getting sick. Then it’s his voice an mocking his any time he had a problem in a live performance. This is the same man that only had 18mo to train and no real vocal training but kept pushing himself to get better. Then the biggest hate he got was for his close bond with JK and V. Him and JK are both from Busan and JK was young and far from home and missing his family of course there would be a closeness between them. Jimin and V were the same age and finished HS together they each understood the other. Jimin found V quirkiness endearing and was there for V when he went through his own struggles so of course they grew a special bond. He has silently suffered through all these horrible comments to go mill himself and he should live the group and the list goes on and on. So now he can finally respond to everyone of these people and tell them in no polite terms to F*** Off AND I AM COMPLETELY HERE FIR IT!!!!!!!!! As Lizzo says “ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME”. So sorry about the long post this song just hit me and sooooo very proud of this young man for just going for it. Love you guys as always🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I was speechless. All I could think the whole day was that army’s that will come after this will not be able to grasp what today was like. I was really emotional. Very proud of Jimin. If you watched him closely all those years and knew how insecure he was about certain stuff , how he always gravitated towards Yoongi in moments when he felt like that and needed Yoongi to be confident in Jimin for the both of them and now he takes Set me free and makes a part 2. Finally leaving this all behind. I’m speechless. I’m proud.
I know ppl say it’s a new side of Jimin but really I see it as being very much the Jimin we know….the way he dances elegantly but powerfully, the deep meaning of the song relating to his own thoughts and struggles…he has been pretty open about these struggles. His vocals are amazing and you can tell he has worked diligently bring out different textures to his incredible range. The autotune was new for sure and took me a minute but its being used an artistic tool as it should be and really adds to the depth of the song and what he is expressing. Jimin is one of a kind. I am beyond proud of him. And sidenote: I really appreciate Blaze’s ability to look deeply into this song (and others) even with only seeing/hearing it once. You were spot on. All 3 of you compliment each other well. 💜

My favorite line is “ GO INSANE TO STAY SANE”. Means to be truly passionate about something in a world full of rejection, pitfalls and naysayers. Jimin’s history with BTS has been filled with haters , death treats, insecurities and self doubt. He is now letting all that go and be free of all of that nonsense. This ties in so much to other verses in the song….mock, fugg the opposition, will make the music he likes moving forward as a soloist. I think his song and dance routine is epic. So proud of Jimin.

Evidemment je ne m'attendais pas du tout à cela de la part de Jimin. Je pensais une chanson douce, pétillante, dansante, fraiche... Un peu comme l'image que nous avons de JImin. et là, c'est le choc ! de la noirceur, du drame, de la violence... et comme j'aime cela ! comme celui lui va bien ! et comme je suis prête à écouter et visionner cette chanson des milliers de fois ! c'est brillant, c'est hypnotisant, c'est prenant ! j'ai qu'une hâte : être le 24 mars pour écouter le reste de son album ! et l'acheter bien sur !!!! bravo Jimin ! félicitations pour cette magnifique oeuvre !!

He shook my soul with this! I keep thinking this is Jimins cypher… but done using the talents in his arsenal which are his fantastic vocals and his expressive dance. Blaze always finds the deepness within all BTS songs. And I commend him for that. These guys have always gone so deep with their meanings and nothing is by chance. So to see Blaze be able to break down something so objectively after barely watching once is very cool!
