Testing the theory that "If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything" - George McFly
Hi internet, my name is Tony, I'm 20 from Sydney, Australia and yes I love my vegemite. I am using this channel to document my progression in learning new skills and hopefully inspire some of you to start something new. I have always been curious and have a weird obsession to learn random skills especially if they looked cool or gets the adrenaline pumping. I also have a walk before crawl mentality and apply it to everything I do. I have compiled a list of activities which I want to learn, however I would like suggestions from you. Suggestions are only limited to anything and everything, no matter how random, stupid or extreme. Planning to upload a video every fortnight so subscribe to my journey and follow me on social media for updates:

  • I was so scared to land my aerials because of my head hitting the ground, but I tensed myself up wind up into it and just commit as hard as I can. Now I can do it anytime anywhere. 😀 (Tricker btw not a gymnast)

    • Silverwalls that's also my problem, I'm always so scared but don't know how to change it. I try to think positive but it doesn't work. O think I could do it into a foam pit but I'm not a gymnast and I don't have a foam pit at home...

    • Kaklimk kluwana Have the mindset of you landing the trick and go in giving it 100% every try, you should always remember that the full rotation is all in the pull that you do with your arms to get you around (works good for me) and keep your legs as straight as you can rotating yourself as hard as you can to get the full rotation axis and successfully landing on your feet.

      @blanq9449@blanq94496 жыл бұрын
    • Silverwalls I can imagine myself doing an aerial but nevertheless I can't do it. I think I could do it because I can take away my hands from the ground in the middle of my cartwheel. But I can't take them away at thr beginning because I'm scared. I'm still gonna try. And thanks for the tip with the arms!

Thank you for sharing your hardship and your perseverance. You inspired me to keep going as we all have our own challenges that can be overcame. Great job.

  • I felt the joy when you were able to finally do it. Exactly how i felt when I practised my front walkover. Took me a couple of weeks since that needs more flexibility. The back walkover is much harder as you need to push your body more. Then progressed to multiple walkovers without much distance

  • This is really cool that you have done this in little time. But you need to make your legs straighter cause it doesn't totally look like an aerial and it helps rotation and just makes it easier all together if you straighten your legs. I'm excited to see what more you can do in a couple day. Real Tallent!

  • Wow! You got it so fast. NICE! My aerial definitely took longer than yours to develop. I had trouble hitting a 180 degree split mid-air. Apart from that, try improving your cartwheel and splits to straighten your legs, you might also even consider pointing your toes so you'll have a better form. ☺ Broken lines doesn't hit well with judges. Are you a gymnast?

I'm a bit on the bulkier side too, and my flexibility in the hamstrings is definitely not there, was wondering if this is how bigger people attempt it? or is it more so just formal training vs personal training?

  • I can do an aerial but it's shaky it's hard to tuck the landing is hard and I don't have enough confidence but I have to work on those things and i have a gymnastics background to help me so I know I can do it.

  • You could also try tucking your hands in it will help your technique

  • Its an odd looking technique but its still cool looking. I think your hand motions cause you to delay slightly longer in the air

  • I do gymnastics and here’s a few tips (don’t get offended) 1.) that’s not a aerial, that’s a butterfly kick. An aerial, your body is straight but a butterfly kick your like bent 2.) straighten your legs please. I know your more muscle than flexibility so it might be hard but you need to 3.) point your toes. It gets you through the air quicker and keeps you balanced. Trust me. 4.) when you do it, aerial or cartwheel. You don’t land sideways of how you started. You would land facing the opposite of where you started. 5.) Don’t keep your arms straight down liek your going to touch the ground while doing the aerial. Keep your arms straight like when your standing and your arms are down straight, that’s where your arms should be, or bend them at your stomach and keep them there. Just some tips

  • The aerial is so much easier if you do a combo first with a cartwheel first right into an aerial

  • My suggestion is that you go into the aerial forward rather than from the did it will look better and it will be easier to straighten your legs

  • I like how you’re older than six and doing it. So many six year olds are more advanced these days. Sometimes it comes to show you have to be small to be in dance and that’s not the case. Not in my studio.
