I would like to say a big thanks to the guys at car throttle, it’s been a horrible year and this has given me a major boost. Car throttle guys are genuinely as nice as they come across on camera if not more.
Dead chuffed for you mate. You deserve it!
Onwards and upwards Dave! Wish you all the best.
You deserve it pal hope you’re doing alright
@@unknowntm1724 it’s a slow recovery, but at least it’s a recovery.
Hope it will help you recover!
A lovely experience for my husband and he’s really excited to drive the care now thank all the car throttle team you guys are great 😊 🥰
We are all very happy for you. Is the white ND in the background yours too ? All the best to both of you.
@@robinforrest7680 I wish lol 😂 it’s his dads he’s with us atm helping us out 😊
Well this should give you all a boost ! We’ve had a pretty hard time over here on the other side of the Channel too. Haven’t been able to get back to blighty since 2019. Looks like it’ll be 2022 now. But my thoughts are with you - even if you did vote for bloody Brexit 😂
@@robinforrest7680 😂 if you have a story or know anyone with a story who may want to share related to covid it’s nice to know people are supporting and I’ll gladly message and have a chat. I have Facebook and Twitter all under mrsdss199
More washes
So, basically Pimp My Ride but you actually fix the car. Nice.
MORE LIKE CAR SOS
But he doesn't absolutely slam the car when he first sees it.
What do you mean? I would consider coating the entire inside of a car with fluffy material (pink, obviously). A cup holder in the middle of the roof and a tv blocking 2/3rd's of the front window a fix as well.
@@hidde1638 Don't forget LCD screens on the bumper, a soda machine in the back seat and some glossy spray paint to cover up all the rust.
@@MGMutt I've genuinely never heard of that, which network did it air on?
This felt like a better, more wholesome Pimp my Ride. Wishing Dave all the best, and hoping you will continue this series
Thanks for the kind wishes!
This is stand alone an excellent tv series :)
Yeah this is real and not a car swap. LOL
This is much more similar to Car SOS.
Donut Media studentd rise up!
"You've got Meister Rs" "Ooo" Lol the british don't freak out for anything.
You just proved yourself wrong. He freaked out over the Meister Rs
@@benholroyd5221 "ooOOoo" yeah, total freak out.
@@adamjones9828 we don’t show emotions very well
We only freak out when the tea runs out. Anything else is just inconsequential.
It's like that everywhere in Europe. For Americans it must seem like we are ungrateful ass.... but in reality oooooh or wow, means we are extremely excited 😆
"Looking a bit sorry for itself isn't it?" *Car looks immaculate.
ok
Exactly 😅
Our MX5 makes that look factory fresh lmao. Rusted through and it only starts if you first unplug the battery and plug it back in again and then get lucky
I expected it to be a bit more worse for wear as well, but the little upgrades and detail were nice too!
We're just used to Alex's cars, the Titanic is still in good nick in comparison to most of those :)
This is why I love car throttle.
Frrrr
I feel the same 👍
To right dude helping the people

Man, recently car throttle has been helping the general public 👍. Great job guys 👏
Me: "We could definitely use more good wholesome stuff like this on KZhead" Jack : "I've done a real good job on Dave's rim" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Proper Rim Job
Such a genuine and amazing guy, even when he talks about his mental health he mentions his gf because he knows its not just about him, and he knows that and he doesn't forget it, if you're reading this all the best on your recovery!!
We did thank you 😊
I’ve walked past this car many a times it’s my old area. Nice one for doing this car throttle 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

NC is hella underrated. As someone who has owned NAs, NBs and an NC, I can safely say the NC was my favourite. Unless you really want the raw classic car-esque experience of owning an older sports car, the NC is the one to go for. So much nicer to live with as a daily. Strikes a good balance between modern comfort whilst still feeling like a classic '5.
Couldn’t agree more . Excellent cars
My Dad bought one for his somewhat sensible midlife crisis I was very proud of him to be fair!
I've used Hella auxiliary lights before on different cars. They're actually pretty good and not under-rated.
Serious question, why is the NC the most hated of all 4 gens then?
@@carsaregood911 Because people hate change. New safety regulations intoduced in the early noughties meant that it was slightly bigger and heavier (as was the case with basically every new car as a result) than the older MX5s and of course this was sacrilege to the hardcore MX5 fan. Some people also didn't like the 'soapbar' styling (personally I love it). Of course the sentiment that the NC is fat and heavy stuck like a meme and virtues of the model were overlooked until recent years when prices became more accessible and people realised it's not actually big and heavy compared to modern cars.
First, they replace topgear. And now Car SOS too! Thats great :D
Not quite.
I think there's plenty of space for another car sausage. :)
It's a small thing to do something like this for someone but for Dave it clearly ment a huge thing to him.
The real heroes all along are This is your Garage, not enough places like that in existence. Been there multiple times and they're honestly the best. Even if they're a 2hr drive from me it's worth it every time.
Reminds me a bit like Car SOS
Just a bit ,but then again imitation is the highest form of flattery...
Exactly, or Car Sausage as they call it themselves 😂
Great show and a great video
Fuck yes, lads.
Thanks for the kind words, I am so amazed by the support of the car throttle guys.
As a fellow Mk 3 owner, I can empathise - "It's my F'kin boat y'all".
why do people call it a boat?
@@ewangoodman6860 about as fast as a boat
@@ewangoodman6860 because theyre the biggest and softest of the MX5s
It is nice though. Had the Rx8 PZ for years an swapped it for a mk3 venture etd. So much better on long journeys. Does really need that 200hp just to tip it over to awesome. Am 6 foot tall so the mk3 is the better option.
@@jackrichards1101 and the fordiest :P (jk... i own a mk2,but i love the "chubbiness" of the mk 3 lol )

Controversial opinion: I think this generation of MX-5 looked the best. It just looks so cheerful!
Loving this direction CT has gone, should defiantly keep this a series
I never used to like to watch people fix cars but I have recently bought a 205 like yours a few months ago and I was fixing bits lately and now love watching this stuff
Loved seeing the compassion given to another human being after a traumatic event. This is how humans should act with each other. Thank you!
Well done lads, you smashed it and best wishes to Dave and Laura!
Appreciate that 😊
Thanks Sam. Appreciate the kind words
Hope Dave gets well soon , I myself had c-19 in January and have long covid , I am constantly exhausted so I sympathise with Dave . Look after yourselves and take care everyone.
If you need a friend to talk about your experience feel free to message me (Laura) or dss (Dave) good luck in your recovery
Sorry to hear you have been struggling too, contact me if you need anyone to chat to etc.
I'm nearly 50 and still laughing at Rim jokes. 😂
I am sure he super appreciate that, and wishes he had the time to take care of it before hand! You guys grew a larger bond with it and him through this so I know it's mint
His wife is a nice person ! Thank you for helping him
Thank you 😊
All Dave's are bloody fantastic blokes and deserve to have fantastic cars. Please come round and do my E36.
Jack really smashed Dave's rim. Great job!
Poor guy you can see even now hes laboured in his breathing :( Dave things will get better
Thanks mas
And yet plenty of elderly who have naturally far more frail immune systems than a 30+ are walking about right throughout the whole 'crisis'!! Remarkable!
I've played many games with Dave, And I'm glad to see this happen to him. He's a good friend and an amazing person and truely deserves it!
Thanks nemesis! Appreciate you kind words
I have to say that Jack was absolutely nailing that rim job
Hope Dave keeps fighting we are here for you
You should be concentrating on TURN 1 and not watching KZhead ! 🙄
Well done front row !!!
"I know it"s a mk3, but it's my mk3". Brother, I feel you. Also, that "something" about it, for me, are the the wheel arches.
Fully understand this comment I've a Mk5 Escort that some give sh*t to because it's a Mk5.. Maybe they weren't the best, but I love mine and it always makes me smile when I drive it.. Hoping to have it back on the road this summer!
Odd looking boat trailer 🤔 Jk this dude deserved this and more, love this content.
Thanks Tom, appreciate the kind words
Well done fella's - lovely gesture - but you have broken me and brought me to tears - all the best to Dave and Laura and I hope that family gets started soon !
Thanks Darren for the kind words, but no need for tears. There are people out their just like us and even worse!
Hope he stays healthy and keeps enjoying his car
Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity , tear in my eye watching “think it’s cold” 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍
Genuinely you guys are the nicest. The simplest of things you do for people makes the biggest difference, especially for mental health. Keep doing what you do 👍👍👍👍
To a fellow Dave, its lovely to see a video of giving back, some of us more than most have had a torrid time throughout the last 12 months + . Whilst I didn't get Covid I have been waiting for an operation that hasn't happened due the hospitals being over run, so I feel Dave's pain in not being able to work or even clean your car properly, my lovely son and my dad helped give it a bit of spruce up a few months back and now I am trying to catch up on the maintenance it needs, had hoped to be able to go to some shows this summer but looks like I will be waiting till next year. Its just nice to see that you guys at Car Throttle recognise just what some people have had to endure over and above the lockdowns, so thanks to the team for putting a smile back on Daves face :)
Hi Dave, the car throttle guys did an amazing job on sprucing my car, and I didn’t even expect the extras! I hope you get to them shows soon, maybe even bump into each other!
That’s rubbish ! Thank you for kind words I hope you get your op soon ❤️
@@dss199 they certainly did, love a nice tidy mx5. We do too, been far too long the modding itch is very much there haha, we don't live far from Goodwood and saw ALOT of lovely metal on the roads this week, my hearted ad's on autotrader has gone significantly haha, all the best mate and we shall keep an eye out for you :)
@@mrsdss1995 yeah it has been tough at times, my son keeps me going :) thanks for the message :) enjoy the car
Fantastic video, great gesture and help to the guy. Should do more of this. Same with handing the BMW compact back to the owner, the sort of videos that put a smile on somebody's face.
That was the most genuine thank you i ever heard, cheers dave

What a lovely couple and a great vid. Well done CT! Really great to see a mk3 featured too, the most underappreciated of the generations.

I always thought this concept would make a great series. Good on you guys for giving back to your community. Cheers!
these people have done so much and gone through a lot; its great to see these people being helped
Well done gentlemen, absolutely fantastic. You will be blessed for your kindness
I'm pretty sure that this video was inspired by the TV show "Car SOS" but the owner actually knows that someone took his car to "clean it"
Love the newer vids where you engange with the viewers, more of these!!
You guys are the greatest. Nice fun guys doing a great thing. No nonsense, showing off or bs.
Thank you for helping this gentleman and his car. Keep up the good work
I swear CarThrottle is the best car channel on youtube! Keep up your fantastic work up! Have a great weekend!
Well done Team CT. Good luck and wishing you a smooth and quick recovery Dave!

I hope you lads do more of this. It was really great what you did for Dave & I hope he has a big smile on his dial as he's driving about on the Derbyshire B roads with his missus. Excellent job all round. Mind you, you should have gotten Ethan in on the brakes lol
