Those were some of the good times in Fort Worth back then. When crack and gangs hit Fort Worth, that destroyed all of the black communities. I’m a 70s baby, bred in Lake Como. It was black clubs all over Fort Worth back then, even in Como, and no one really had to worry about anything. You could even buy food from the clubs back then.

As I'm getting ready for work, when Charleston said, slavery is closer to getting up for work everyday, when I say that struck sooooo many matches. I'm in Texas, and I'm not far from Ft Worth either, it would be honor to be able to sit with Pops because listening to him and the history I don't know really shows how lost I am in my own identity. I'm asking the questions, but I need the drive to put forth the effort to study what I do not know. Thank Charleston and Pops for this interview, I really hope I can see yall on the streets. Approximately 70% of black children are raised by single mothers. Pops said his father wasn't around and he was raised in the 50s and 60s. Single black mothers has been roughing it since they walked off the plantation.
