In “The Idea of You,” Anne Hathaway plays a 40-year-old divorced mom who finds love with a 24-year-old boy band singer played by Nicholas Galitzine. Anne and Nicholas chatted with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi about the movie, which shows off Nicholas’ impressive singing talents! Would he ever take the act on tour? Anne also shuts down speculation that the story was inspired by Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde’s romance. “The Idea of You” is on Prime Video May 2.
I appreciate Anne Hathaway so much as an actress, her acting is always natural, honest and very convincing!

She's old compared to a 20 year old, and when you are dating the young guy in his 20s may want kids, and if you start dating at 40 there are issues. People in their 40's are at different places in life, then people in their 20s. 40 is also pretty old, I'm 43
@@PAPPADASH Women can have children 40-50 yrs old nowadays with no issues. I know a good handful of women who waited and sorted their lives out first, I commend waiting to reproduce. Plus there's a LOT of the younger generation that don't even want kids. Let me guess you see no issue with a 40-50 yr old man with a 20 yr old women though? Your opinion is your own, there's many different perspectives in today's world. Nobody bats an eye when it's an older man. That narrative is outdated, let people live and you do the same. If you are talkingabout invetro or medical help to get fertil, it's extremely expensive for 1, and for 2 it doens't alwyas work, and even if it does you are at a higher rate for miscarrages and whatnot. Also I don't have a problem with any two adults dating eachother man or woman who is older and younger. I just pointed out that as a 20yo taking a 40 year old woman you have to think if you want kids, and if you do she's probably not it for you, or she is and go for it. But you just spouting off about me not liking something is just silly. These are facts I stated that is all.

The novel’s author is a Harry fan and the story is a fan fiction! This is a well known fact regardless of all the PR spin they’re trying to do. It’s got nothing to do with Olivia W. as the book was published years before their relationship.
The author was inspired by her interest in Harry, but also by her interest in other bands she loves. Not to mention her interest in many other things. It is not fan fiction like you would find on Watt Pad. Way more in depth than that.

To equate Madonna's (65) and Cher's (77) age with Anne's age (41) is HILARIOUS (and no, it doesn't matter what age you look like because that is in the eye of the beholder). Both Cher and Madonna could EASILY be Anne's MOTHER LOL By the way, Nicholas is 29, Josh is 30, and Alexander is 38. I say you do you, but I think it's odd to equate this movie to Madonna's and Cher's relationships. Olivia and Harry - yes, a more ACCURATE comparison. PS - Nicholas and Anne are such wonderful actors and so now and so modern.

The author wrote this book long before lockdowns. It may be inspired by H and many other bands, and her own personal experience (as she has stated in MANY interviews) but it’s not a badly written fan fic.
