I second that!
absolutely. 16+.

And yet when an age limit is displayed before going on the game and those under age kids go on the program it’s OK in the kids head. That sounds like everybody in that circle should be held accountable. The kid, parents, company and accused.
If only our government would come down so hard on pharmaceutical, insurance, and oil companies.
Ask an oil executive what they have to go through to extract oil from the ground.
They haven’t done anything to social media companies
Thank you. I'd be happy if they took all that power combined and just laid into insurance companies.

Children shouldn't be online without parental supervision. Nore should they have cellphones.
But the vast majority of children have more time with a device a day, than direct contact and engaged behavior with a parent. No ones reading to kids,or giving them life lessoins based on the day they've had. DANNY TANNER, aint nobody's father, America is bankrupt of supervision from loved ones, doing everythign than can to make sure you kick lifes ass. No one tucking them into bed, its 2 more episodes of paw patrol and I turn off the light. Just ignore them and put screens in front of them, and instill insecurities in them to insure they are self aware enough to fit the mold the must meet, or find yourself a failure.
so if your kid misses a bus and gets stranded somewhere you wouldn't want them to have a way to contact you? They should at least have a non smart phone on them as soon as they are old enough to use them.
That cats already out of the bag.
Eh, ok... How do you stop kids from smoking if they can just leave home and take a smoke? And in an online world, prohibiting online activity is like prohibiting you from driving your car to work, it's just not gonna happen. Kids are creative, if you put up a website blocker they will figure out how to work around it, you might succeed for a short while, but if they are determined to do something they will succeed. So what are you gonna do, lock them down? And about cellphones, it's a device that can save lives as well, how would your kid call you or 911 in case of emergency if you're gonna take their phone away? It's probably the most stupid idea I've ever heard. The best way to be a parent is to be observant and informative, otherwise you're gonna be punishing and destructive in their perspective and you're gonna end up in a bad relation with your kids. Stop being a cop and begin the parenting.

The companies really should be paying us a percentage for the personal information they take from us and sell, without our consent. At least it would give us a chance to do so.
Yeah, or you are talking to your friends about something and it pops up on your phone later. It’s not ok.
Yes, I feel ya, that's creepy. But just to play devil's advocate for a minute, the fact that you're currently sharing your dog's favourite snack here on YT probably isn't helping you all that much in the 'privacy' department.

Non- computer user brother, was worried, his children wanted a computer & he didn't want to give them free access to the internet. How many young kids do you see in stores, restraunts, play grounds, etc sitting with a tablet or phone in hand and no one monitoring them? Too many parents resort to the glass teat to teach and entertain their kids rather than themselves. Its a parental responsibility first......
I've wondered why for the past several yrs, especially if my daughter is showing me around her area or we are going someplace, where are the children? I don't see children playing outside anymore or even teenage girls sitting on front porches etc. talking or just enjoying being together. She'll say, almost always for the past few years, Mom, their in their house, basements (rec rooms now), bedrooms, whatever, playing on x-boxes, TV's, phones etc. Thank God my children didn't have families until they were older & had some brains.
They took God out of school, not teaching your child morals, not going with your children to children but letting them run loose unsupervised, not knowing what your children are doing. Make a law so they have no immunity ! My kindle has games and books that I can put this grandchild, by age and if he is 4 years old that child can not read anything but what I say. We can talk with them face to face while on the parents phone only. No other electronic means allowed because they are vulnerable!

I agree it starts at home first. Their parents shouldn't give them screens what ever happened to playing outside or with toys. Kids now a days like to watch grown people play with toys. It's sick and wrong.

The most important way to navigate through complicated legislation is the fact that anything For The Children is a trap. Don't allow it.

A company is all about making money, not wasting it. It's not in any company's interest to do the parents job. It's stunning how stupid people are expecting corporations to create an online utopia for kids to be safe in so parents can no-brain their role as a parent. Parents are lazy, ignorant, and uncaring, that's why the web is a dangerous place to be. How do you teach your kid not to get ran over by a buss? You show them how you do yourself, you stop at the side of the road, you look, and wait for a clear moment to pass safely over the road... How do you teach your kid to browse the web? Most parents just install parental control and forget about it, hoping the controls will suffice. Literally, braindead parenting.
On Facebook, trolls and bullyers insult and threat they never get consequences. But victims defending themselves are always banned or sent to court.
Dude; “we want to work together with your team better on this” Senator; “ok, what laws do you support and what laws do you not support then” Dude; “uhhh (insert corporate response)” Paraphrased, but that’s basically how it went at 50:00 imo, lol.
I am 41 and started using the internet at 12. One of the first things my parents taught me was not to trust the word of anyone I met online, or guve out personal info. That seemed smart to me. Teaching online safety should be a standard part of parenting by now.
Same except a bit younger... it was insane to me as I started growing up, seeing my cousins just a few years younger than me being allowed ipads when they were 8 years old... then iphones shortly after, meanwhile I didn't get my first smartphone until college and just had a flip phone before that. Honestly, I wanted one so bad but shortly after I got one I *missed* not having one, though that's a diff. story.... Also, I taught middle schoolers for a couple years and they all had smart phones and even crashed the schools server because they all hacked it so they could play games on them, among other things. What was really shocking and disturbing was one of my students (12/13) was suspended from school for a p*rn addiction. Yes, at that young of an age. It's infuriating to see how flippant these parents have become.
I'm 42 and TO THIS DAY I have never used my last name online or given any person info like my phone number or address. It's insane how readily people put their personal information online.
They don't give a shit about the consequences to the public. It's all profit driven.
Even commercials are questionable. Excusing themselves that they need data

I don't trust this Congressman!😮
I hate social media, but I'm also done with people constantly expecting social media to act as baby sitters. Social media being "dangerous" is not an excuse for you to be bad parents, I've seen one too many times parents putting a tablet in front of their literal toddlers just to make them shut up.

The problem with social media isn't social media in and of itself but those who mindlessly use/abuse it and those who foolishly believe that government should do the parenting that many parents can't or aren't willing to do. It's a sad state of affairs.
They basically sell your banking info. And they also sell credit card debts.. the list goes on and on? And this is why they could do the whole "fin tech" (loan shark) thing.. which is not all that legal in all countries. But they want to force it to happen. So.... this is the danger.
I'm not sure about that. I've seen enough written about how the screen has properties that make it addicting to the human brain. That would have to be fixed before what you have written " isn't social media in and of itself", to be true.

@@donnaparrish7638 your definition of 'fortunate' is pretty stupid
It’s not just about lack of child safety , it’s about spams, scams, catfishing, phishing, child, weapons and drugs traficking. Will they bring hearings for each h one of those crimes being ignored by the social media?
Great points!
Drug trafficking yes the rest mostly likely not
All of that is happening at the border too. Biden doesn't care.
Valid
Exactly thank you for saying!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
How about being able to file a lawsuit on the pharmaceutical companies for vaccines Ms. Lindsey? That and Facebook both would be GREAT.
HOLD PARENTS ACCOUNTABLE
I hope that they can come together and remove 230 and rewrite a current law to modern standards
I think i saw a T-rex somewhere in this video
I work for an organization that has dealt with cases like the one described at 7:40. People who scam, exploit, and abuse need kicked off the Platforms they use. People (not only kids) need to be educated on how to recognise these assholes and appeal to get then removed from online communities. And companies need to be accountable to their customers, young and old.
How flawed is your logic here?? Sure, no body likes to see children exploited. But, this is the PARENTS who are allowing their kids online. Social media and the internet can NEVER be a 100% safe place, no matter what. So why begin to give the government unlimited access, destroy free speech and force platforms into absurd, wast policies for content... JUST BECAUSE PARENTS think their 7 year old MUST have an iphone, in order to exists. I think because "you worked for an organisation" your view on this is onesited, and does not take in to consideration the wast complexity of regulation in this field and the consequences it will create. Take this logic into anything else; Regular phone-company. Lets say a scammer calls you and gets you to transfer money. Is it then the phonecompanys fault that you where dumb enough to fall for the scam? No ! Take responsibility for your own action. Take responsibility for your own children. This has been a well-known issue for decades now.. It's not the "system's" responsibility to teach your kids. IT'S YOURS!
@@maezzologymedia14yes Mr Zuckerberg, yet when people/parents do file complaints Facebook says the criminals do not "Violate Facebook Community Standards " yet you block people for questioning the Chinese flu from Wuhan!

How does all of this relate to the current state of affairs with respect to trans issues. Each of these CEOs seem to stress their dedication to protecting children from sexual content, but it seems they have nothing to say about parents protecting their children from gender affirming content.
PROTECT CHILDREN PERIOD , ✌️💞💯👌
KOSA doesn’t protect children btw. It takes away their privacy, and probably their trust for their parents
It's called parents
that's communist think You don't get to make rules that affect my rights Protecting children is the job of the parent not the government

META needs to have their Protected Provisions Removed. If The Congress and Senate Don't Remove These Protection Provisions, Congress and Senate need to be removed fro Capital Hill. Times up.
Congress and Senate are not two seperate entities. The Senate is one of the two chambers of the U.S. Congress.

@@MarkSmith-cd3ny Why would you want these social media companies to be open to litigation every time a parent fails in their duties to raise their children and monitor their activities? These companies would be drowning in frivolous lawsuits left and right from money-hungry, irresponsible parents. I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to pay a subscription fee to use social media just to help pay the armies of lawyers they'll have to hire to fend off every parent who wants everyone but themselves to be responsible for parenting their children.
they must be so very frightened!.....NOT!
I have a really hard time with this. I don’t remember anyone coming to me and asking me if it was OK if they placed rules and guidelines on how I conduct business. Since when is it OK for Congress to have to go ask these people for their permission to prevent them from doing harm.??? That’s what it’s messed up with our country. These big corporations shouldn’t have to give Congress their permission to enact a freaking law that protects the people. Our legislators don’t work for the big companies, they work for the people. And enough is enough.
Everyone is so eager to make changes, yet three had to be subpoenaed to appear and one had to be visited by Federal Agents before he agreed to appear. 🤨
Which one?
The role of a parent is to teach their children how to avoid the pitfalls of modern technology. Keep the state out of it as much as possible.
How about we are sick of corrupt politicians .
Everybody using the same word disgusting don't smell right too meeeeeee😡😡😡😡😡😡
The problem is instead of putting the responsibility of raising children to social media how about some accountability by the parents to know what their underage children are doing.
And having their kids talk to them if they are struggling with mental health issues.
chomo statement
Between one of the jobs that they are working to keep a roof over the kids head.😢
As mentioned , the parents don’t even know how to use the apps. I myself spent a week locking EVERYTHING on my child’s phone so that they could only text and call the numbers that I programmed into the phone. The text didn’t work without the phone data. So I turned internet on and I blocked the apps but through the google account my child was STILL able to get online. Seriously just try yo block it and watch how hard it is.
As a parent I accept that it is my responsibility however we have other laws in place to protect vulnerable children and this what this Is. The platforms are targeting kids what don't you get about that.
Everyone that has issues with Facebook should go directly to headquarters and sit until they help! It’s clear by not having a help line available to its customers. The company motto is, if we don’t know about it, it doesn’t exist.
Correct, but they knew immediately about my postings after presidency was stolen 3 yrs ago. After they took down about 5 of my postings, I haven't been back on. Erased all my info except for name & did keep acct open. Sad, because was on with all my h.s. class & couple yrs before/after. Until it's fixed, I haven't been back. Plus, Firefox warns me that if I go there they can, FB, start tracking me. That's the end of that story! Ha Ha!
I'm shutting down more and more of my stuff on FB too. Can't even talk to them about problems but they can make the stupidest calls on words. They blocked one of my posts because of one word that was not violent but they said it was. Totally out of context.@@lorraine9320
Sadly, even if you never open FB on your phone, if you even visit any website with a FB page logo, FB can track your phone from that moment. Somehow, they are SO embedded that I CANNOT delete their app from any new phone!! Why? Why can't I delete the preloaded FB app from my smart phone? 😠

Parent your own Kid! I think if your kid does something online parents should be held accountable! And Social service should visit the home and evaluate if they should be parents! And then be brought up on criminal charges for irresponsible parenting. They do it if your child miss to many days of school! I bet parents will limit the kids usage or take it away all together! Which is called PARENTING!
Here is a simple solution. Shut down terminate what ever you want to call it all social media. You want to socialize? Do the old fashion way, Go out and meet your friends.
Right?!
but keeping some sort of onlline comunication like discord is needed bcs somebody from Europe can t JUST GO to Usa for a week its kinda expensive and it also takes you quite lot of time, ofcourse
@@diprosla592 yes friend keep communication on, that is why technology today has a phone we carry around make a call or txt. That is how socializing is until social apps started coming. To improve our daily lives. And now WHAM!, here we are today all this issues with social media corporate crab.
Sounds like socialism

What a much needed marathon 😌
Who owns KZhead? They should be on here giving accountability as well. KZhead is full of filth that nobody should have to be subjected to.
Google. Interesting how they didn't attend
KZhead is not a social platform, it's a video content sharing platform which is a different issue entirely. Granted, one thing youtube does right is they have a kids friendly section with proper parental controls. There's plenty of filth on Cable TV and it's on the parents to moderate their childs watching habbits. The debate is on the communication tools of these social platforms that allows you to directly communicate with literally anyone, which should rightfully be scrutinized. The amount of spam and propaganda that spreads like wildfire is only going to get worse with the advancements of AI.
@@HitPointX Still KZhead violates their own policies all the time. I often report videeos for breaking their guidelines. I shouldn't have to report it because they should be moderating but they're not. They leave it on there for profits like the other guilty social media networks.
@@user-bluetopaz777 Not wrong. Google used to be "Don't be evil" now it's "Turn a blindeye for the good of our platform". Only thing the moderation team does now is copyright claims 🤣
@@HitPointX No, they have taken down videos I've reported before. I didn't report them for copyright.
