A secret entrance through your storage area that only you have access to would be an awesome way to make a wrestler-style grand entrance into a fight.
Honestly, water dripping from the roof would probably be so good for the ambiance and maybe help with using the trident in more places

Could waterlogging half slabs be an idea? So you can use riptide from the floor and not just in the water? And maybe get some depth stride boots for speeed?
The underwater ring is amazing. This teminds me if those two part stages in fighting games. Could have a great name too The top part: Skull Sands: Beach Underwater: Skull Sands: Hidden Depths But maybe needs more skull/spooky things in the hidden ring? Excited wlwhichever way this goes!
I feel like you could play with adding or removing water from on top of the arena by using dispensers. You could either make that the columns of water appear or disappear randomly to make a more interesting fight or even you could add a button so all the water is removed and you have a new type of combat arena: loyalty tridents.
Gem! You should invite/ask Iskall for his input on the riptide arena! He uses riptide tridents to get around regularly and his whole base in s8 was using them. He might have some good insight. Arena looks great though, the entrance is perfect.

26:48 Holy hell cub is selling his fireworks for cheap. I mean, the idea is really cool and he gets the diamonds from horn shop pretty good so I guess it doesnt matter to him that much but goddamn. Fair play to cub, he really wanted to do the explosive fireworks and his promotion of them is so cool. Very rare to see fireworks used that much, and it's kind of a shame.
The Electric Sparks ones don't take any diamonds to craft, so they're very cheap for him to produce. He gets glowstone and gunpowder from a farm (not sure what kind of farm, but based on the emeralds he gave Cleo I suspect it's a raid farm) then the dyes and paper are easily farmed as well. I believe all the different shape items are farmable as well now that bartering exists, so the only fireworks Cub loses any money on are those with a "trail" effect from a diamond.
@@dbseamz Ah, for some reason I thought that one of the shapes was the gold nugget one. In this case it couldve actually been a reasonable price (don't know what some of the individual things would sell for in shopping district) but any of the ones with diamonds have been hugely cheap..

It is possible to buy stamps that for hermits that don't have a mailbox yet, so there is a chance that Pearl will find it and put in the lost and found, but in the process she might discover the club. Check in the Post Office, in the wall with everyone's names if his light is on.

If you want movement to be a bit easier, you could maybe use trapdoors or gates on the corner water columns and make them all source blocks, so swimming up is quicker. As a bonus challenge, you could also maybe put a block switcher in the bottom and have them randomly alternate between soul sand and magma for up/down movement.
I’m excited to see the first fight. Ripetide seems like a unique choice. I love the build and ADORE the secret entrance
I like the idea, but I think if the arena was completely filled it would make things a bit more logistically enjoyable. But maybe leave the corner water pillars as air pillars so the person might fall down out of the water and have to swim up the center stream which makes them more vulnerable to their opponent, meaning they would have to be more wise with their aims. The whole point is to use the trident to fly and attack, not throw or just swing like a sword.

I think the arena being fully underwater with a conduit and having two tridents to let people choose how to fight would be the coolest way to do it. Because it fully realizes more of your theme dealing with water. You could also decorate it to be a spookier arena to blend into your theme. Like, make the arena an eldritch horror type room.
The connection with the storage room could make for a nice secret entrance to a private observer's box! Like you would see in an arena or something.
Gem, seeing you do redstone with pearl was cool! Id be interested in seeing you learn redstone. Judging by how you helped pearl, its not as far out of your depth as you present it, and you totally have the potential to be a redstoner. Talk to tango!!

even though Etho said it was not a finished project, as I vaguely recall, it was suuuch a cool game and a great arena.
"I need Riptide 1" My suggestion would be to ask Grian. Considering you can get Riptide books from fishing, and how much he's fished, it's pretty much guaranteed he'll have one. I have seen Villagers sell Riptide 2 & 3; however, that was on Bedrock Edition, so I'm not sure whether or not that's also a possibility on Java. Same thing goes with Impaling, Loyalty, and Chanelling, if I remember correctly.
I see how it is. In Gem's version of edit she got Ren saying "I'm gonna get cozy with a villager in a little hole right here". Meanwhile, Ren's editting has Gem saying "because then I need to experiment on your body".

Riptide PvP is one of my favourite types bc it gives great agility in water (without which I find water PvP to be annoying) + impaling (in bedrock) can build up huge damage. And Riptide in general is just so useful for traversal with elytra, better than rockets in rain or over an ocean.
If Gem needs help with trident combat and making an arena for it, Etho did that in a mini game a couple of seasons ago! He’d probably be happy to help with that sort of thing, and I’m sure Joel would be happy with him involved 24:50

Hi Gem, I'm not much of a builder, but I have a little building efficiency tip for you! When you have underwater dirt that needs to be mud instead, don't replace the dirt, just go out with a water bottle and double-right-click the dirt. The first click turns the dirt into mud, the second one refills your water bottle, assuming you're underwater the whole time...

For the fight club kit, I recommend turtle helmets! (With aqua affinity)And iron boots with depth strider. Then you could do the colored leather chestplate. And I do think that having both riptide and Loyalty tridents could be a good idea, and maybe make the arena have a water floor?

Use a dripleaf for the entrance. Oce your stand and drop down, wait for it to reset and it will make you swim/crawl. Then you can enter the secret crawl/swim space behind it.

the fight club looks so good!! the columns up the wall and wrapping across the ceiling make the room look kinda reminiscent of a barrel (at least to me lol), which I think really works with your aesthetic/the underwater or ‘fishy’ theme of the club 💖💖
Honestly there is already a perfect trident arena inside every Ocean Monument. The gold room in the middle. You have the Guardians that forces you to move and you have pillars to hide from each other and get the drop. Also I think not utilizing the verticality (attack downwards from above/attack upwards from below) removes a huge deal from trident fighting. What if you just flooded the room and maybe got a few Guardians inside cages to laser both fighters to add a random element to the battle? I think that would make for some really fun and exciting fights.

It's a fight club arena, 1v1 PvP. Adding guardians makes it PvE and adding pillars to hide behind kinds ruins the point of fighting in a boxing ring.

Water columns are an interesting idea for the arena. Connecting pvp and some clever movement patterns. Testing the riptide in shallow water shows the damage value, but doesn't show how 3D the fight could be. In a fully submerged arena you'd get a different kind of combat than on the water columns. Add some covers in a few places, soul sand/magma for rapid vertical movement and you get a very tricky fighting space.

You should make it an underwater arena with a conduit for water breathing. Then you’ll get under water riptide fight which would probably work a bit better!

Gem, a few tips to improve your fight club arena: 1. You can hit people with a trident as if it were a sword. The platform in the middle serves this use well, but you did not use the trident like this in melee situations. 2. You can throw tridents if you are on dry land. I suggest adding Loyalty to the tridents to make them usable this way. 3. Waterlogged slabs (lower half of block) n the center platform would be cool, but only if they were mostly waterlogged, leaving some raised non-waterlogged slabs. 4. Make the center platform smaller, so that falling to the bottom becomes more common. 5. Maybe turn the center platform into a more parkour based platform. 6. Bubble columns (both soul sand and magma) would make the movement more sporadic and interesting. 7. Fishing rods could add to the aquatic theme and could be equipped as a secondary weapon. 8. Add fish to the walls! Take some inspiration from Grian's underground mending shrine. 9. Use coral for the floor and ceiling to add seating all around. 10. As a special feature, add a hole in the ceiling which goes straight up. It can remain closed most of the time, but will open during a thunderstorm to throw at opponents in the middle to strike them with lightning using Channeling.

Can't have either of those when you already have riptide on a trident. You'd have to dual wield one riptide, one loyalty/channeling trident.
Gem! Since the arena is underwater, I think it’d be cool to put some dripstone dripping water on the ceiling if possible! Awesome episode and I also like how you let the process inspire you rather than waiting for it to come, I think that’s a good reminder for all creatives ~ I love how that led to the wall gradient.
