The soundtrack in Halo 3 bring back so much nostalgia :
The fact that you searched this up means something
It means that I wanted to relive my childhood
Yeah it means I'm 30 and old enough to miss "the good ol days"
It means that I am 15 years old ( born in 2006 ) didn't get to play it,but heared it 4 months ago on internet,Fall in love with it and now blaming myself that why I didn't born in 1995
I’m laying in bed at 10:30am watching this while I have a sick PC in the other room.

Sitting here at 21 remembering how it felt to play it the day it walked through the door in my father's hands, it gives me low key existential crises 😅

This was the peak of gaming, and no one even knew it
Very true. We didn't know. Those of us who were lucky to experience Halo 2 and Halo 3 when they came out were just enjoying the ride. We thought it could only get better from here on out. How wrong we were on that. Halo 3 was the absolute peak of console multiplayer gaming, and the peak of xbox live. 2004-2011. Nothing will come close to those years. I am older, and have pretty much no time or interest in games nowadays. I still play Halo MCC occasionally to relive the glory days. But i will never forget and cherish those endless summer nights of halo 2 and halo 3, staying up til 4am playing. They were the best times.

Before microtransactions, before overhyped content, before intrusive updates, before shitty UI, before greed. There was Halo.
BlackMarsh There was plenty of greed with Halo 3. Remember how that if you didn't buy the map packs you were locked out of most of the playlists for multi-player. It's one of my favourite games of all time but we shouldn't forgot that it had flaws.
yup, halo had DLCs on halo 2 as well, also offered in standalone disc for those who had shitty IPs back then lol.

I hope it goes back to the old formula of doing things. Quality before quantity. I have hope about 2018. I havent bought a new game in ages. ive lived on playing the old halo series(bungie versions) and gta 5, and i recently began playing read dead redemption again on backwards capability on xbox one. It's crazy to think, this was 15 years ago now. Kids these days won't know the feeling of hopping on Halo 3 with a mountain dew and pizza on a Friday night. Games these days are all rushed and money-focused. We really lived through the prime of gaming (2000-2015). I now am stationed overseas but this theme almost brings tears to my eyes remembering the good ol' days, before politics and division overtook everything.
Agree with you 100% friend. Halo 3 was the epitome of gaming. It will always have a place in my heart, and I can’t wait to play it with my son one day. Be safe out there.

My father passed away Feb 2007, this game was my escape when it came out Sep 2007. Brings back somber memories. Halo 3 truly one of the last games that I would consider being perfect.
Yeah...then when Halo 4 came out, that was pretty much where it all went downhill from there.

What saddens me the most is that no one in my family can even begin to comprehend what this song alone means to me and it breaks my heart. They think gaming is STILL just some "silly timewaster" when in fact this game was the pinnacle of my childhood, time spent with friends, good times, the best times, laughing and late nights and tight matches and close calls and epic plays. All of that wrapped up in a few chords a handful of notes. Halo 3 was the best game that ever was. We finished the fight Jon. We did our best.
I was born on January 17 2007, or 1177, which is very odd, my dad introduced me to halo CE and i fell in love with the game, i have played all the games made by Bungie and my all time favourites are Reach, 3, 3 UNSC and CE
My wife now would see me cry listening to this and think I’m a freak or something 😂 little does she know this song and this game provide the best memories I’ve had or ever will have.
@@Ebolution117 I was born in 03. I still vividly remember my brother playing the first campaign mission seeing the phantom in the jungle drop off troops. Very much a core memory.
@@JackCooper243 Yeah, i remember alot from 3, it had the more stronger memories than the rest, except from UNSC and reach, they were both masterpieces too
I'm not crying (but I am in fact sobbing) this game meant a lot to me along with so many others . I hardly have any family left now...
Isnt it crazy how a youtube video of a video game's main menu has 4m views? It really shows you what this game meant to people and how tied we are to it and that time in our life. The friends we made, the late nights online, all of it. Its the most pure, most beautiful nostalgia I've felt and its just as powerful everytime I see this loading screen

There’s a glimmer of hope, with their recent announcement that they’ve severed ties with Activision. However, I doubt we’ll ever see another masterpiece from Bungie that was the Halo Franchise, prior to the 343 takeover of Halo 4 and onwards. One can hope, though..

George2000 well said
This was the very first Xbox 360 game I had got on Christmas Day of 2008. Before I had always wanted to play Halo. I would go to my best friends house and watch him play Halo 1, 2 and 3 all day. I don't know what exactly it was about Halo that captured my attention in such awe. But I was in love with it the second I saw my best friend playing it on his Xbox. I remember my Mother asking 10 year old me what I wanted for Christmas. I said Halo 3. She said That's it? I said yep!! Christmas Day came around, my happy self was opening a bunch of cool gifts. One of them I opened, there it was, Halo 3! But I was extremely confused, because I had realized I could not play it due to having a PS2 and no 360. Lol, I just remember looking at my Mom so strangely and saying "But Mom, I don't have an Xbox 360. This won't work on my PS2." She said "Oh. You're right." Hope was lost at that moment lol. 5 minutes later, she said "Hey I think this is another gift right over here! You forgot about it." I saw it was a big box shape. I quickly ran over to it, opened it and so was the 360 itself. I plugged it in right away, put the game in and played and played and played. It was an unforgettable experience. I could not actually believe that I was playing Halo 3 and the fact that I never thought I would. Each morning I would wake up, turn on that 360 button and come right to this menu. And so here I am now, at age 25, writing this because I miss the memories. I play all the Halos on my PC today, but man. Oh man, it does not feel the same anymore as it was back in these days when we were children and Bungie was making HALO AMAZING. Thank you to the game developers for just making HALO EXIST. My childhood would have been so different if Halo had not been around at all.
We've lived the same life man, I'm 25, played halo at friends houses. Asked for an xbox all year. Gave me a PS2 controller and said "is this the right one?" And I teared up a little saying no but it's okay thank you etc. Then, big reveal: Xbox 360 with halo 3, it made my Christmas let alone my childhood. Never forget brother🤝
I'm in the same boat dude. I remember my dad, friend, and I would all play every other weekend (divorced parent type situation). This game is what stitched my life back together in the dark days. It makes me look back on those endless afternoons and smile. I thank god I got to live in the same time period as Halo.
Your mom is such a hero, coming in clutch with that Xbox 360!
you and i had the same christmas day in 2008. wow, i hope you’re doing well my man.

Well if the song isn't saddening enough, you'll understand why the comments section is mostly people talking about their memories on this game or on Xbox in general. Games like this were amazing back in the day, compared to now where games either end up unfinished or simply get taken for granted by people who expect more, sometimes too much out of game developers.

No microtransactions, no DRM, no season pass, just a great game Edit: People complaining that a season pass is better then halo 3 DLC model forget that this game launched in 2007 it had 10 dlc maps four of which being free by July 2008 other map packs being discounted this game was supported with dlc till January 2010 all this not including countless custom community forge maps and online event hosted by Bungie such as "Bungie vs the world" playlist. I have yet to see another game with this much dedication to the community non of these maps would have been free under the season pass model and also these maps were not made before launch of halo 3 and then held back so they could sell them to you later like most games nowadays.

[Insert Meme] Halo 2 started it right?
Straight up!! Played Nintendo and ps all my life until ghost recon and halo. Mainly halo. Halo was what made me beg for an Xbox. From 08 til 2013 I didn’t have a PlayStation. Then bungee came out with destiny. And I’ve switched back.
halo 3, gears of war, cod 4
My brother passed away in 2011 but we always played Halo 3 even when reach was out but man do I wish I could sit next to him one more time and play the Halo 3 campaign . I remember all the hours spent with him teaching me how to play the game. What buttons to press how to control where I look, to think it's been five years since I've played with him.
I'm sorry man
Right I'm my feels man :,) this game gave us good memories
Hope u get that chance in your life you'll never know what might happens
so sad to hear that. but because of a beautiful game, you got to have some amazing memories that you will always remember.
What happened to him?
I don't want to be here anymore. I want to be there.
That sound that rhythm that flow.... never gets old. Never gets old
10 Years ago today, we all saw this iconic menu for the first time...

There needs to be a halo 3 reunion somewhere in the middle of the US were the south, north east coast, and west coast can all get too
Sometimes i just come here, enjoying these moments/ memories like this. Im 25 now, i was probably around 10 years old if not younger when enjoying halo for years. countless summer, days, all nighters . Countless friends, memories, people ill never forget. and im thankful for the show, its amazing , and hits right in the feels constantly . I fight back tears writing this, some of the best / most touching music to ones soul. Only one that even comes close to me is RE save room music. But this. this is the one. This is why we live life. Memories like this. May everyone prosper n cherish the little time we have on this planet. and beautiful memories like this, to enjoy the lil time we do have.
27. Take care of yourself Spartan ❤
Almost 30 here, life is getting worse. Remember you played Halo, remember the good times, for they will carry you.
Where have the times gone? I’m 21 now, but about to be turning 22 in February. I mainly played the campaign on all the halo games, but occasionally I’d hop on multiplayer. I’m not just writing on this halo 3 theme for this game in particular, but for Halo:CE through Halo:Reach. All these games were the golden era of gaming. Now, us Men that were once boys are starting our own life. No more of these memories. Kids today have no idea what it was like back then. These days will always be remembered as the Golden Age of Gaming. Halo was definitely a one of a kind game. Sure we made enemies, but we also made friends. For the people that we all played with that haven’t logged back on for years, may you be safe and okay. It’s painful to think about that last match you’ve played with somebody who hasn’t gotten back on. You told each other “see ya tomorrow after school” and come to find out that was the last time you guys spoke to each other. God Bless the people who are still active and the ones who aren’t, I hope that your living life and nothing bad happened. To the people that have passed on, I pray that you’re up there with God. So much nostalgia from a game series, it’s crazy! Another thing that’s crazy, is the fact that I’ve more than likely played with a lot of people who are commenting or reading comments. Brothers, I hope that God blessed you and your family and if you’ve lost a friend that hasn’t logged back on or a family member that’s no longer here, I pray that God has his hand upon you! God Bless Brothers, I Love you all, and stay safe! P.S. I wasn’t always in church. I know that this is completely off topic, but coming back here and hearing the Halo 3 theme song, and remembering all the memories for Halo:CE through Halo:Reach, is so nostalgic, that it hurts. Not just an emotional hurt, but a literal heart breaking pain. Whenever I turned to God, I realized that only through him will I find peace and joy. My point is, God can help us through the times when we’re feeling down and depressed. Sometimes I play Halo on my Xbox still and remember the good times. I know that God will comfort me in those times I feel sad about not seeing one of my buddies in a long time or sad about how the memories we all had are gone. Halo was that community that actually brought people together and not toxic. Sure, there were toxic people in matches that got heated in the moment and there were people that were just toxic in the lobbies, but overall it was a Golden Community that brought people close. That’s hard to come by with the games out now. We all need to look forward and not in that rear view mirror. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”. God Bless you all my Spartan Brothers and May God Bless You and Your Family and Friends!
This menu... opens up my feel box. I can't control this sadness

ToxicGreen still applies. Playing it now will never be like the old days when you were young.
ToxicGreen Im sorry but idc how many games you find now. It will never EVER be the same
Happy sweet 16, Halo 3! You can finally drive a warthog! 💙💙
This. Coming home from school and getting straight on, going for skulls, getting vidmaster challenges, actually seeing someone with the recon helmet, attempting legendary, finding easter eggs, chasing legends like the ghost of black reach, and all the custom games you could only get if you know someone who knew someone who had it. We really didn't realise that this was the peak of gaming and the memories we made.
A time where everyone is online. A time we all enjoyed. A time we all miss. A time we will never forget. A time we will forever keep in our hearts. Thank you all for playing this game with me.
*Last online 12 years ago*
It will be honor serving you
Beautifull
No worries, mate. Who knows, maybe we both knew each other's mums back then in that way that only gamers do.
Now were all racists :(
This hits even harder when you realize the song name its “Never Forget”
CHIPILIN01 the one on the Halo 3 menu is actually the Halo 2 track “Unforgotten”
yeah Actually, the Halo 3 Menu screen is actually "Unforgotten" - Halo 2, Vol. 2 (Original Soundtrack) - Martin O'Donnel & Michael Salvatori

After 14 years, Halo 3's servers on Xbox 360 will be coming to an end. I'll never forget the memories I had with this game.
Never forget Ahhh this song is beautiful.
I'm not an emotional person by any means, but hearing that combined with the song made me cry.
Never forget that mcc exists, you won’t be able to experience your nostalgic game like you used to but you’ll still be able to play halo 3
And yet people STILL don’t get online in 360
I have so many memories and it was one of the best periods of my life. Oh the nostalgia!
“For us the storm has passed and the war is over…”
Y por eso serán recordados
The war has just begun brother.
The algorithm didn't recommend me this. I searched it up.
"That was a great game, same time tomorrow?" "yeah for sure see you then" Last online 7 years go
You never know when you're in the good old days. You never know. Until they're gone.
Me: So long old friend, it was an honor to serve with you, until next time😔✊🏽
A child’s first heartbreak
Fuck off that literally hurt 😭😭😭
Damn man this was too real
Summer nights staying up literally everynight. Halo 3 custom games are still some of the most fun I've ever had in gaming. Maybe even in life.
Hunter Hagelin Very true. I remember back in 2007-2010 I used to play the shit of halo custom games with my xbox live friends. I still play with most of them today, especially halo 3 on the master chief collection. Fun times man.
Same here man, miss those days so much...
Yeah it's exactly the same for me man. Plus that most of my friends that I played together with, have moved on to other things in their life. Understandable but still.. It hurts when you think about it. But at the least we will, both you and I and so many others, have those memories with us if not for the rest of our lives :)
Haha same here bro, you're making me feel very sentimental as well. I agree on all that you wrote and recognizes everything! Oh shit I remeber those challenges, they were very hard! Congratz to you completing them, I remember myself almost getting it done, got 6/7 challenges, but on the last one (the" impossible" firefight-part) my mates screwed me over hard lol and I gave up. Did you enjoy Reach and ODST aswell?
Haha oh man the nostalgia is too much right now. Amazing that we, without knowing it, have shared so much of the same memories. I think Reach was my favorite campaign, but Halo 3 had the best mp in my meaning! Yeah thanks bro, in time I will :)
Who’s here in 2024?
I'm here spartan
Here's another Spartan present in 2024
Am here 🫡
When the violins start I just get overwhelmed with nostalgia and tears come from my eyes. This game will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️
I love this comment section.
Me too dude, we all come here for the same reason, i think thats cool
ya its true, this comment section is full of missing this game, but what makes me happy is the stories people tell about this game, I read one about a kid getting bullied and this game helped him ease his pain, I am not saying i love that, I am saying that im glad u agree that we are all here for the same reason
+Michael Riley Ya dude, I used to play my xbox 360 and halo with my brothers all the time, at that time I thought it was just some cool and fun thing to do, I never really realised what i really had til i lost it, no one in my family plays halo or xbox 360 anymore, I miss it, I miss it a ton
