Tatiana, the second daughter, born in 1897, was a tall, thin and elegant girl. She had a darker complexion than the others. She was somewhat reserved, dutiful and pensive; she was often more decided in her opinions than her sisters. She was a talented pianist and also painted and embroidered well. Tatiana was her mother's favorite, having inherited the Empress' nobleness and sense of discipline. The younger children nicknamed Tatiana "the Governess."

At 20, she could have already been married and maybe safe, in another country. Although I don't favour early marriage, I do feel sad that the older girls had not married, moved away and escaped the horror ending.
Infact Rusian and Romanian royals were thinking of marriage between Nicolas ii 's eldest daughter Olga to crown prince of Romania, But she refused as she loved Russia so much and didn't want to leave Russia after marriage.

a very good question. There was a drunken pyschopath of course (Ermakov)but there was also the totally lucid and rational commadant (Yurovsky) who later wrote of how he actually admired and respected this particular Grand Duchess. He shot her because he had convinced himself that even though he admired her, and even though she did no wrong and he knew it, he killed her because he had swallowed an ideology that basically said the ends justified the means(Manchiavelli) and any means can be used to attain the goal (Lenin). So the state sanctioned ideological murders started with the Imperial Family who needed to be wiped out in order to take the first bloody steps that would lead to their conception of an earthy paradise. Then, the next steo was the persecution and anihilation millions of Kulaks etc, the social revolutionaries who were in teh way etc. Millions died in Russia, but while it seems to start with the Bolsheviks other countries were not immue, most famously the Nazis who of course killed people and children they knew were entirely innocent - again as a necessary first bloody step to get to that earthly paradise. No they don't.
All white people do not have the same skin tone. My sister and I have the same parents yet she took after my mom who was half Hispanic and I , my dad, who was Scandinavian. People could not believe we were sisters. We had zero resemblance to each other in skin tone, but we’re both white.
@@A2D4 exactly! My mom and I are both white but she's Portuguese so she has an olive complexion whereas I took after my dad's family and am so pale that's how she used to find me at the public pool/the park in a crowd of other children. She'd just look for pasty child with sunburn! 😂.
@@samanthasmith61 Not all light skinned blacks are mixed. Come to South Africa (and other parts of of Africa as well) you will see what I am talking about. You have different shades of black here ranging from dark to yellow and the yellow ones are not mixed at all.

Their father did a lot of mistakes but his children were innocent people that don't deserved what they did to them and all that cruelty. They were very humble and kind kids that had nothing to do with the politics and all
