  • Recessions are an unavoidable part of the economic cycle; all you can do is prepare for them and plan accordingly. I graduated into a slump (2009). My first job after graduating from college was as an aerial acrobat on cruise ships. Today, I work as a VP for a global corporation, own three rental properties, invest in stocks and businesses, run my own company, and have increased my net worth by $500k in the last four years.

Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in trending stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over $900k in a little over a year, my adviser chooses entry and exit orders.

  • Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

    @JefferyDuns@JefferyDunsАй бұрын
    • People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

      @Nernst96@Nernst96Ай бұрын
    • Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

  • When the Great Depression and other huge catastrophes occurred, I used to believe that everyone went bankrupt, but they didn't... Some made millions; I also assumed that everyone closed their businesses during those times, but certain some did start new ones. It all depends on your point of view; there will always be moments of prosperity for some individuals and times of depression or recession for others. My primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $220k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains

    • Most of these strategies and loopholes are better managed by experts and pros, the average investors on the other hand are exposed to market sham which can lead to portfolio blunder. The issue is people always have the “I want to do it myself mentality” Unapologetically, that’s why they get heavily affected during a crash, most folks aren’t equipped enough to capitalize on drawdowns hence, it's ideal to seek a CFP.

      @MarkGrimm8@MarkGrimm82 ай бұрын
    • the market's uncertainty is one of the reasons I have my daily investment decisions guided by an investment advisor, as their skill set is built around going long and also shorting the market to maximize returns, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against inevitable downtrends, and when combined with exclusive analysis, it's nearly impossible not to outperform. Since the 2020 pandemic, I've made more than $1.5 million after subsequent investments thus far.

Now we have so many dollars circulating through government spending that the dollar is losing its value. We also have an administration that has stifled the lifeline which is energy that runs all businesses and creates inflation for every family. Higher cost for the essentials takes away the buying power of all Americans. When people cannot buy product there will be layoffs because of overproduction.

  • The FED cannot just print money and then buy it back. They can increase the money supply by purchasing debt so the treasury can issue bonds and our financial institutions participate in an auction and then the FED can buy from those financial institutions. If that's what you want to call printing money and then buying it back, go ahead. Furthermore, this process does not dilute the dollar. When people lose trust in our system and quit buying our debt, and trade their dollars for different currencies or assets, that dilutes the dollar. We're not on the gold standard anymore, back when your comments would've made more sense

Maybe tax on gains could take inflation into account otherwise it is very hard to grow your money in this economy.

  • What the US is going through is a stagflation. Since the US imports most of its consumer goods from abroad that means as demand falls the supermarkets will just buy less or close down. Since the retailers provide most of the jobs their downsizing or closing down would lead to higher unemployment which will result in further fall in demand and so on in a vicious cycle. Therefore the current stagflation in the US will lead to a depression that will last atleast for the rest of the current decade.

Meaning we as the people are to comfy because we aren’t hungry and we are entertained. Same play has happened in the past… keep them fed mentally and physically, control their actions based on their emotions and not their minds.

Even at the beginning of this video, you point out why that doesn't work. Unprecedented problems clearly require new solutions. Club of Rome predicted worldwide population drop starting around 2040. I make the assumption that this is accompanied by worldwide societal, economic and political collapse. Probably including a breakdown of most electronic, mechanical and electrical tech. I'd suggest prepping for this.
