Needless to say, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and AC Milan in good shape reign at the top of European football clubs. They are the dream destination of soccer players.
football*
Barca is not in good shape
the period from 1989-2000 Italian teams were represented 21 times in Champions League and Europa League finals. The world economic recession hit Italy very hard and that showed in the financial state of the clubs. The Seven Sister's ruled Europe in the 80's and 90's...Real Madrid took 22 years to win their next Champions League, 1966 to 1998, and that's just how dominant the Italians were, and Liverpool went on a run during the 80's too, going into the 2000's Barcelona only had 1 Champions League title after beating Sampdoria in the Final in 92.
Man United didn't win the league for 26 years between 1967 and 1993, as well as Liverpool for 30 years between 1990 and 2020. I mean thanks to Heysel, a British club failed to win the European Cup/Champions League between 1968 and 1999 (31 years).
@@Urlocallordandsavior Heysel was in 85, and English clubs were only banned from 85-91, can't blame that on the Heysel incident. They were just a weaker league for most of the 20th and early 21st century.
@@bzilla1090 There was that 1977-84 period of English dominance though in the European Cup (only in 1983 did a non-English team win the European Cup at the time, Hamburger SV), Liverpool won European Cups in the span of 7 years (1977, 1978, 1981, 1984), both Liverpool and Clough's Nottingham Forest (1979, 1980) won back to back European Cups. The year prior to the period of English dominance, Leeds made it to the 1975 European Cup final. Plus the Heysel ban screwed over Everton's great side of the 80s, who just won the league and European Cup Winner's Cup in 1985. If Heysel hadn't happened, the European Cup of the 80's would've been called an undisputed English decade. The FA screwed over a few English sides in the 50s too (Chelsea and Manchester United), preventing them from fully committing to the continental competition in the 50s, and the Munich Air Disaster ruined United's chances at winning the European Cup in the late 50s. We've also reached a number of semi-finals and finals throughout the seven decades' long competition. I'll concede that English teams in the 90s and 00s were unlucky in the competition, but you can't really say they were a weaker league because of this.
@@Urlocallordandsavior well the same could be said about Grande Torino, in the Superga air disaster, and I highly doubt that Everton squad would've been a match for the Milan of the mid-80's onwards, even in the UEFA Cup, Juventus , Napoli and Inter Milan were quite dominant not to mention Italy had the best footballers on the planet. Serie A was just miles ahead of everyone else during the 80's and 90's, and it wasn't even close
@@bzilla1090 Superga was before the European Cup started, though it's all hypothetical at the end of the day.

As an Italian, my heart cries out knowing that our country up to 30 40 years ago was at the top of Europe and now we still face many problems, that I don't know if they will ever be solved.
Yg sabar 🤗
What problems do you mean?
Lately, this ranking is dominated by English teams: 5 or 6 of Premier League ones, depending on the year. That's where the money REALLY is, through and through. French and German teams have not been well represented besides Paris Saint-German or Bayern München, respectively (I thought I saw Schalke for a brief moment too). It means that those two leagues are actually really unbalanced/uneven, with ONLY ONE dominating while the others are disregarded. Should I consider that those countries' teams besides the dominant one are not at the top-flight of European football either? Spanish teams on the charts have only been a couple - and if you listen to Catalan nationalists that keep repeating that "Catalonia is not Spain", then not even Barcelona would count, only Real Madrid. It's really a shame for Italian football though. But most of those teams would still come in the top 12/15 or top 20 right after. I'm personally a fan of Serie A. #ForzaInter

@@philippgabainvonkries5117 Chelsea? In 2005 Chelsea was in big financial crisis, then came Abramovich and bought the club and pumped millions. Bayern is the only succes story they build the club since 1980 when they changed management, invested in new stadium to increase income. They hold 75% of the club and always reinvest the money, only have 3 other german investors Audi, Allianz and Adidas.
