Fellow soldiers are accusing Bowe Bengdahl of being a deserter after his controversial rescue.

  • He wasn't rescued and he wasn't a POW. He voluntarily left his post and went to the other side, and six true heroes died trying to find his worthless ass.

    • Between that and Iran capturing our sailors both situations were a total disgrace. "We don't negotiate with terrorists" smh. When Iran captured our sailors I'd of called the president of Iran and threatened total annihilation until their release. Every day they arent on American soil thatll be another airfield gone. Another cargo ship. Factory. An if they start executing them then I'll level cities. Hiroshima Nagaski style. Put them in their place. I dont know why they even surrendered to begin with. Should of just unloaded the 50 cal on the boats that pulled up to them. If I had been the captain I'd of told my sailors either fight or swim. I dunno maybe there wasnt time. It didn't help Obama wasnt really a wartime president

It’s really despicable what happened as a result of this guy leaving his post. He should be held accountable for all the above. It’s only right to charge this man. If you join the military and decide it’s not for you. Take the proper steps to get help or released from your duties. Walking off and doing what you wish is not a option. Bo had psychological issues that he was struggling with well before enlisting .. How he passed muster to get into the service I'll never know.. Bo is from my hometown in Hailey Idaho.. I've known him personally, and always wished him the best , he was a pretty good kid.. I believe he could of have had a good job and been a benefit to the military but not in the capacity of the job they gave him.. His desertion into the arms of the enemy was his choice.. And then sometimes in life ones life one has to live with the choices one makes .. I don't think Bo was capable of making good choices , he never should have been around any "action" in the field of war ..

  • As a former Marine... I agree, we went to war for a punitive reason. We loss more people on both sides at the end of the day. With that said, if this dude was trying to get out because the military wasn't for him. It was the leaders fault for keeping him in. You could have just discharged the dude which would have given him no monetary benefits and he would have gone his way back to the "civilian" life (I know, locals use to hate me all the time when I called them civilians or hung out with them and that word slipped out - but that's how military people view it so I stopped using it). I think the government needs to put something in place to let the people who find themselves not a fit for the military to be able to leave. A focal center for every military branch for these individuals. It's because I still remember people who wanted to get out, but couldn't and that made it worst for everyone who was still in. You see what I mean? So we had to carry their weight on our shoulders and even risk our lives. The military is no different from a job. It's just that we aren't afraid to die at the end of the day. The dude didn't want to be a part of the military, discharge him and go on your way. This cost other military member their lives. Let what I wrote be a statement.

    • @@n0vi dude, the show is actually very good, right from the start. The best part are all these plot twists, and the way the show evolves (and changes) through the seasons. I don't wanna spoil too much, but the main cast changes through the seasons a lot, but imho it works very well. The first few seasons are more about the POW that is rescued and who has been brainwashed, and the next seasons take a look at the bigger picture of the middle east through the eyes of intelligence officers. I would say the later seasons get waaay more action, but the first few seasons are just really well written and acted, so they are also worth the watch. I would recommend watching from the start at the very least because you don't want to miss any of the character's background stories as it will be easier to follow in later seasons. Sry for such a late answer, but I never got any notifications for this... I somehow found myself at this video again (that I didn't even remember watching a year ago hah) and I noticed my comment, lol

  • I could be wrong but didn’t he try to get out of the military many times and he kept getting refused? This should serve as a good example as to why you should not force someone who isn’t mentally capable to keep enduring deployment, this whole thing could have been avoided if he was allowed to leave. This is a terrible situation all the way around and the fact that heroic soldiers died in efforts to recuse him is heartbreaking to say the least, I can’t imagine how their families, friends, and fellow soldiers must feel. I think this was a lose/lose situation all the way around and I hope this serves as a wake up all the military to listen when someone says they need help. We should only be sending the best and those men and women should be of a sound mind first and foremost, sending people like him overseas has proven deadly

    • @@memeprez1281 I don't think that is how it works, when you join the service, you loose your right to be able to quit your job, speak freely, and do anything you want. Once you join, the army owns your ass and hole, you follow orders that are giving to you with no IFs, ANDs, BUTs and DICKs. So when you leave you post or your squad, you are disobeying your squad leader, and if I am not mistaking, that is something that you can get dishonorably discharged and can go to prison. In a C.Q.B operation, your team leader will go over the plan for how to approach lets say a medium business office building, three or four floor building structure, your team leader goes over plan and now you are in the building but your team leader decides to change the plan without saying anything, you can't tell him what the f are you doing. All you can do is follow his lead and keep his ass in one piece, you don't leave him because he went a different way the what he or she said before you entered the building, you follow him and keep his or hers 6, safe, and you don't have to like it, but you do have to follow his orders weather it gets you killed, you are doing your job and that job can lead to tragic deaths but that is what you signed up for, doing a job to keep your country safe, and knowing the risks can be high, you signed up to fight, not to flee your team.

He moved away from them as soon he was legally able.. he spent the rest of his time before he enlisted trying to play catch up emotionally and mentally to adjust to the world in reality that we live in.. I have not a bad thing to say about him from the short time I knew him, in the transition after leaving his parents.. I generally think that he was a really fine young man.. Just mixed up.. I just felt a bit sorry for him.. He was in no position to understand his choice in signing up.. He just wanted to better himself.. He always, just wanted to better himself... F****** tragic...... @gblazey180@gblazey1804 жыл бұрын
    • You know little about ballet then.. They're quite a few football players and sports figures that do ballet ..look it up.. There's a lot more to it than just tutus.. It's a very disciplined art, as is the martial arts.. And you get to hang around with fine, beautiful women ballerinas... Bo was generally a good kid .. And he worked hard in the ballet.. I know because I was right beside him.. Psychologically he wrestled with some demons of his upbringing.. The father you saw fighting so hard for him to come back.. he resented very much .. he never wanted to have anything to do with his father .. Bo lived as a roommate with a woman that I was dating who ran the ballet studio.. Bo was a strong tough kid .. never did I feel he was "light in the shoes" so to speak.. He was overprotected by his parents and stunted in all areas including his psychological capacity.. but he was fighting hard overcome all that. But psychologically and emotionally I don't think he got there yet.. He shared once that he wanted to join up with the French foreign legion.. a bizarre thought, for me to hear from him.. But the next time I talked with him he said he was going to sign up in the US army.. And I wished him the best in that endeavor.. evidently there's not a very high bar on the psychological end of testing , or he still looked potentially like a good hire for the military on his own merit.. but psychologically I worried about him.. to throw this kid into action, was probably not a wise choice by our military.. He needed a job like loading airplanes, or a mechanic away from the front lines.. It's a sad story all around... But he made the choices that he made, even the one to desert .. he got a lot of people killed trying to rescue him..and potentially a lot more people will get killed by the terrorists that got released, for his release.. It's a f***** up deal.. he should be locked up for desertion upon return.. Just like anyone else... But I think he's probably living his own personal hell at this point.. f****** tragic... He just needed a few more years to fight those demons and mature before he was ever able to make the wise life changing choices in life .. overprotecting religious zealot parents, probably meant their best, but they did not prepare him for the realities in life.. One has to live life to see reality ..
