  • Andy Richter, the Swedish German. I met him once through a prospector in Atlanta, Georgia.

    • That is sooo weird whan a US citizen, born and raised in the US, is being called the nationality of their ancestors. His father was born in Illinois, not in Germany. Especially when I am from Europe as well. He neither has a swedish nor a german passport. Even his parents (at least his father, didn't find the info on his mother) were born and raised in the US. From my point of view, he's as US as it gets. He is a (at least) second generation US Citizen. I understand the sentiment, but boy is the US fixation on their ancestors weird for outsiders.

    • @@mephisto8101 The ethnicity of the ancestors is how we identify each other. Because the ethnicity of the ancestors is what dictates your home cuisine, how you celebrate holidays (and what foods you cook), what your family structure is like, etc etc etc. The US is a country of immigrants who do not assimilate to a standard cultural norm. Families keep most of the traditions of their ethnic heritage. So as an American, when I get to know another American, eventually I'm interested to know their ethnic heritage, because now I have the complete picture of how they live their life and what their family is like. Hope this helps.

    • Lot is an understatement. I literally watch Conan because of Andy. Conan is funny. But Andy is funnier. Infact he could have had his own show. He had to be really quick during interviews and still whatever words come out of his mouth are just too good. I have seen multiple times Conan losing the track of the conversation or interview gets awkward & Andy says something which just makes people laugh immediately.

    • Andy calls himself a sidekick and he says it's what he wants to be. So it's not taking anything away from him... He knows he could be called more but he loves that so I call him a sidekick for that reason only even though when I call Andy a sidekick it means so much more than when I call lets say Robin a sidekick to batman.
