Deandre Ayton's contract def worse than Jaylen's
Most def
So, Suns where right when they refused to give him max contract after all!
Dayton should be playing for the vets minimum 😂
I quite the JB hater. But, I think you may correct. Just tough to say, given talent disparity between best player/s in NBA vs 25-30th. And that ranking is generous from my perspective. I feel like I can say with some confidence he hasn't been an all star (or fringe) in a coue seasons.
@@atsk3281as a suns fan I am beyond happy he’s off my team. I am going to pop some champagne when he’s out of the league
we all neglect to consider the higher proportion of baddies at warriors games compared to wizard games.
The DC baddies deff not competing with the bay baddies
Just cause a place has a beach and the other doesn't, doesn't mean the baddies are badder, swear, you beach city boys think y'all's women are it😂😂@@bigbangbasketball
@@RizzGawd69bro having a beach quite literally means baddies guaranteed where do females go for vacations? 7 times out of 10 it's gonna be a beach lol
stfu ur not the first one to come up with this joke
@@RizzGawd69having a beach definitely makes a difference sir. There’s a reason Miami and LA usually comes to mind when talking baddies. Along with good weather. Maybe you think it’s just all a coincidence
Also worth to note 4/5 of them are shooting guards
Jaylen brown is overhated
fanboys need to be capped
his slamdunk participation didnt help
the problem is that he's getting paid steph or lebron money but he isn't anything special.
@@sconartisthe’s right tho, not a superstar
@@richgreene5038 Jaylen Browns's 2023-24 salary is about $30M, significantly less than Curry's $52M and LeBron's $47M. Curry will have two years remaining, and Brown's salary will be 10% lower than Steph's in those two years. Brown will be a few percent lower than LeBron, but LeBron has a player option for 2024-25 which he may decline to sign a new contract for even more than Steph.
Jaylen Brown is playing the best of his career this season. The only reason it’s the most expensive contract is cuz he just signed it. Every supermax player is going to be paid more than him as soon as they are eligible. I don’t know if you actually watch basketball jaylen brown is an efficient beast on the floor you’re making him seem like a glorified Zach Lavine and he’s not, he’s a monster
He said that JB was a great player but a flawed one. But Embiid has his injuries, Giannis has his shooting, Luka has his defense? JB is greatly contributing to winning basketball right now. He should not be on this list
and JB just won EC player of the week 😂 he’s been on fire lately, and playing his best season so far.. these takes are stale
He still isn’t worth that much. Maybe in a few years it won’t look as bad but his contract is ridiculous
Browns contract is the future of NBA contracts and for that it gets the worst contract? I Disagree, watch we will see how worst player will soon get same/bigger contracts because that's the future of the NBA, bad take
@@JimmehTruongnow which among these players is JB better than? That's the whole point though. It's not that he is bad but he isn't the franchise guy. I'd say they could have given him something close to what his contract is rather than giving him the most expensive contract in the NBA.
the celtics had no choice to sign JB lmao. either that or he walks for free in a year or they try to trade him on an expiring contract.
Celtics could have trade him last summer for three 1st
I feel like they kinda had to pay him extra because he was in a lot of trade talks and he was on an affordable contract prior. The C's wanted to show appreciation and loyalty; kinda like what Daryl Morey didn't do to Harden
@@sting114 why trade him for three firsts when you’re actively trying to win a championship lmao
@@iHonkkCeltics could flip the three 1st for an all star. Now they have to attach at least three 1st to brown if they want to trade brown
@@JimmehTruongyeah but that doesn’t mean he’s not overpayed. Even tho it was the best option to sign him doesn’t mean it wasn’t an overpay
Jalen Brown contract is very expensive but the Celtics simply had no other option. They could not break this team and due the cap increase, the max salaries are going to look like this going forward. It’s just that Brown was first in line.
Idk if Brown was first in line, I think it all started with Rudy Gobert and Bradley Beal's contract, but I see what you mean
@@KH-ou4st I think Jalen Brown is the first to get $60 million a year. I would rather pay him $60 than paying Bradly Beal $50. Beal is definitely overpaid.
The JB slander is ridiculous. He’s a multiple time All Star, and if he didn’t get that contract, Boston would have been decidedly worse AND it likely would have cost them Tatum next year. Please stop…
It’s not slander he’s just not worth 300 million doesn’t mean he isn’t good
I edited and the heart disappeared 😔💀
@@Dizcrete To Boston, he’s worth every penny right now. He’s a homegrown All NBA player that if you didn’t lock him up last year would be a HUGE distraction this year as they’re trying to win a ring. Plus, treating him wrong would potentially have caused issues with Tatum. Next year, Tatum will have a bigger contract, and when the new TV deal kicks in, a whole bunch of people will have bigger contracts.
@@Dizcrete He is worth more than Luka since JB is an elite defender while Luka never played defense in his life
@@DizcreteIts a new norm. This summer NBA will see new All Time biggest contract. For example Maxey will recieve somewhat the same money Brown makes
Jaylen Browns contract is fine. All the All NBA players who extend will have similar or bigger contracts he just happened to be the first to extend with the new cap. In 3 or 4 years his contract will be 10th highest.
Doesn’t matter. 304 million dollars for a non franchise cornerstone is a bad contract
I feel like lonzo ball has to be up there. Guy signed a 120m contract over 4 years and has played a grand total of 35 games. EDIT 80M over 4 If he doesnt play in his final year it works out to 3.4m (EDIT 2.3M) per game
Video said "at the moment". At the moment, Lonzo have only one year left. So it's not so bad. And 20M per year still leaves some flexibility. Overall, yes Lonzo situation is grazy one.
I agree hes bascially in the same boat as Ben Simmons in that hes a contract that has no value as he doesn't/cant play. Id say Ben is obviously worst just due to the size, but the other players mentioned in the list have length on their contract which definetly plays a significant role in them being worst than Zo's (Who i think expires after next season?) People just like to give Zo a pass due to injury / Being a nice guy which i sympathise but still consider him probably in the top 10/15 worst contracts
Yeah but it wasn’t like he was trying to get hurt💀
@@Joefdgtrbro his injuries aren’t an excuse he’s literally only out because of that before he got hurt the bulls were a top 5 team and that was primarily due to Lonzo running the floor while also defending teams best scorer 💀Ben Simmons just doesn’t like basketball there’s a difference
@@atsk3281 sorry, my bad I confused his and Gordon Hayward's 4 year contract. Yeah, but say he doesn't play next year would you pay 80m for half a season (not even the back half where it matters). I will admit at 80m it's nowhere near as bad and shouldn't be top 5, but maybe top 20
if the celtics win the chip Jaylens contract is worth every penny and then some. L take when you consider that by the time his contract expires it’ll be small in comparison. Why do people freak out over large contracts like this?
Yeah and he compares him to Embiid who is injured for 50% of his career xD
yeah this take shows he just reads numbers and doesn’t watch ball
Bro gettin paid like an MVP bro
people forgot conley had the biggest contract at one point!! this is L take
This guy said Shai was overrated, he just does shit for clicks sometimes and it’s exhausting
y’all love to watch JB’s pockets but not his games 😂😂
Did you watch those playoff games last year when he disappeared?? Like he usually does in the playoffs? As a Celtics fan I don't like it at all. Him and Tatum need to prove it when it matters. Not in the 82 game regular season
the video is literally about player contracts dummy. No one is denying Brown is good he just aint worth almost $60 mil a year 🤣 good for him for getting that paycheck tho seems like the type of dude thatd do good things with it
@@jt5604 Don't call people names for no reason dude
You didn't watch the video, did you?

NBA should really consider "injury contracts" - a regulation that would allow franchises to pay less to a player that's longer on the injury list than some specified amount of time. Because now it's ridiculous: Simmons getting paid almost 40mil for basically nothing
I think they already have that setup - I recall Embiid signed his first extension with a injury ratchet in it. Zion may have something similar too? Although when it comes to negotiating table, given the lack of these non-guaranteed elements, to me it the agents / stars rarely settle with the team on these.
Jaylen Brown's contract is a product of the system put in place. With the supermax and the timing of the contract, he was the best player who could receive a contract of that magnitude. All of the best players in the league will be getting contracts like this in 2-3 years because that's when there contracts are up. The top 25 players will essentially all be getting paid supermaxs for even more money than Brown so saying its a bad contract isn't really true since that's what teams will have to pay to keep guys like that.
It’s going to cripple small market teams. They’ll be forced to give up a supermax to any guy eligible for it. And you can’t pay three guys a contract like that. Even two seriously hinders your ability to put depth around your roster. As an OKC fan this is going to be a huge problem for us down the road. It’s cruel that the super max still goes against your salary cap. That’s not helping. If the max was say 50 mill and the super was 60 then the 10 million difference shouldn’t go against the cap. That would be a more fair way of doing it because right now small market teams that draft a bunch of stars are basically only renting the majority of them. Eventually they will have to pick two and let the rest go
@@SonnyK248 You're right. The way things are going it looks like teams will eventually only be able to pay 2 stars tops and then have everyone else go to other teams. OKC is one that gets hurt by this more than most. Having the extra money not go against the cap might be an interesting way save the predicament of the direction the league is heading but I think they are hoping for parity.
Where's Ayton?
dominAYTON.
Jaylen Browns contract murdered the future of BOS. There is no way out for them, how are they ever going to trade him? His highest PER rating for a year was < 20!
As a Celtics fan, I know he was overpaid, but what choice did the front office have? Plus, it's not like he's unknown to year round fans and it's not like he sucks (until he dribbles with his left hand).
Other teams would give Brown that same contract today...which you can't say for the other guys
Jaylen can be all nba and all defense this season he and JT taking lesser roles to win but both playing the best defense of their careers and the record is showing it.
Not worth the richest contract in history
Would love to see a vid about teams/players struggling since the all star break. Hali has been tough to watch after his injury against Boston
Lonzo ball contract 4 years 85 mil and hasn’t played in almost 3 years
As a suns fan I don’t know why Bradley Beal is even on the team like I’m happy he’s here right now just hope he starts to pick it up. I am starting to lose faith
They were better with Chris Paul. Booker only focus should be getting buckets
He was never going to be a big time difference maker, too much redundancy not enough shots to go around, and he's a bad defender.
Part of the contract parity issue when you mentioned Jaylen B. against other even bigger names is a timing issue. Also, if Jayson Tatum was not on the team, Brown's #'s would most likely be even higher in terms of various key stats. Tatum is a notch above Brown talent wise but again, it gets complicated with both of them on the same team. I think Jaylen is the hungrier of the two to win a title (yes, subjective). If Tatum was not there and we received some solid pieces via his going elsewhere and Brown was the top leader, I could still see a title run regardless as our other pieces we have (White, Holiday, Porzingis to name a few) really are key and in place. If we do not win the title this year, this could be a consideration for change.
Ben Simmons comfort zone is on the end of the bench in street clothes
As a Pacers fan I am so happy that the suns matched the Pacers offer for Ayton. Major bullet dodged.
Spot on. You earned a sub
Ben getting that good ol disability nba check
At this point the nets should consider cutting ben simmons. His career is over once this contract expires, so he has no trade value and no reason to accept a buyout, and the nets are going to suck next year no matter what so you might as well take the hit this year instead of stretch provisioning him. He's also almost certainly not going to play next year, so you can either pay him $40 million to take up a roster spot, or pay him $40 million to go away.
barely top 25 for jaylen brown is wild 😭
Number 1 - Lonzo Ball
he's the 71st ranked highest paid player in the league. He gets paid 20.4 million a year to do physical therapy lol.
That left hand usage incentive in JB’s contract will have him playing godly
No wonder one of them reason why all sports basketball baseball and football tv ratings went down hills
18 a game with Booker and KD isn't bad at all.
Not for the price
Never understood it. I get it get your money BUT if you truly want a ring and then expect your team to have 3 max contracts and 10-12 minimums it doesn't work (cough, Pheonix, cough) then expect disappointment
Please do one video again for most overpaid and one for most underpaid from each team.
1. Poole deserved his contract at the time handed out too him. Was pivotal in that GSW championship run while being the second best option most nights. GSW was rightfully investing in their future by giving Poole what was rightfully his at the time. Bad on Washington to carry that burden. 2. Jalen Brown is somewhat overpaid, however he does form a formidable backcourt with Tatum and has been pivotal in Celtics recent success. 3. Simmons definitely finessed😂 the system. 4. Beal was unfortunately injury prone. 5. Ravine had a decent run, even sold me.
you can make a case for JB, who's playing at an elite level on both ends of the floor.
People criticizing the jaylen brown contract have a point, but I wouldn’t say Jaylen Brown is on a good contract. I think a lot of the points made in the vid are fair. Paying Jaylen and Tatum doesn’t give the celtics flexibility, so if they can’t convert the regular season wins to a championship, they’ll have trouble making roster adjustments. However, if they do end up wanting to move Jaylen in the future, I’m sure a mid team with cap space would be happy to trade for him. Not a bad contract in a vacuum but time will tell if it was the right choice when it comes time for the C’s to let people walk cause of cap limitations
Finally someone who gets that just because someone is overpayed doesn’t mean there bad there just not worth that big contract
Tobias Harris snubbed
@hoops reference... What rocks clicked together in your head and made you put Brown on here ?
NBA globetrotters salary is an illusion Society actually believe these players are making millions
Bradley Beal, Tobias Harris, Damian Lillard, Fred VanVleet, Zion Williamson, Darius Garland
Jordan Poole needs a new head after that DG punch... Ben Simmons and Bradley Beal needs a back transplant hahaha
i feel like jaylen browns contract was a good play if they win it was all worth it and if they lose in the coming years they could just trade him
Ill be honest, Jaylen browns contract is very much overpaid but hes definitely has the potential to be worth that contract if he maxes all of his stats or has a breakout season. Im a celtics fan and hes my favourite player in the league but even i questioned the amount hes getting paid
Hmm, to me a bad contract is one a team wouldn't want to have.. How many teams would turn down Jalen Brown's contract and not have him on their team if they could afford it? Probably none. There are so many players making close to as much with average or worse productivity.
Jaylen Brown a Top-25ish player? BS take. Dude is an All-NBA 2nd team who's having a career year in terms of shooting percentage, assists and defensive efficiency. Lately, he's on a tear and has been the C's best player on the floor with Tatum slumping.
At least Brown is playing and always seems to be trying to play. Everyone else on this list, except Poole, wanted to get a bag and then sit out several years. From a talent perspective Poole never should’ve been paid when he’s being paid.
Ben Simmons Jordan Poole Zach Lavine all are stealing money at this point
Before watching I already know my bulls on here for giving lavine that max contract 😢
I blame draymond for pooles regression and warriors trading him. That took a big toll on his mental
Celtics signed jaylen brown for that because at worse it's a tradeable contract. Prolly more then half the nba would make a bid on him if he was ever available.
He's movable but at that contract it won't be half the teams that are interested. A few teams for sure though
Why haven't anyone talked about a man almost twice his size punching him in the face. He needs to suit the NBA and Green. Talking about Jordan Poole.
I think there are bunch of other players who also get overpaid. Tyrese maxey? Lamello? Jb is definitely deserve more than them
JB is sorta living up to the contract.. We'll def see if he was worth it come playoff time.
the back hasnt been an issue for beal in months. its jsut been bad luck since
As a Celtics fan i don't understand paying Jaylen that kind of money and making him the highest paid player in the league. That's ridiculous to me. I mean yes he has alot of upside but he's not a real young guy as well. I don't understand why it took that much to sign him
These are actually great contracts… for these players
Jordan Poole, $100m for a lifetime of memes.
That horrible contract didn’t stand in the way of the the Suns trading for Beal. They also traded for Durant, who puts up huge number and is one of the best the league has ever seen, but he# also never led a team to a title. Steph, Dray and Klay proved that they win titles with and without Durant. Suns owner setting that team up for a massive rebuild in about two years, and with no draft picks to do it. 😂

@matthewford3778 Yeah bro I am. What you gonna say now?
@@JonatasSabimbi lol
Isn't his contract ending at the end of the season ?
Your logic on putting Brown on this list means you don't understand how basketball talent valuation, management, trades, and team chemistry works. He is one of the few players on the Celtics who played tough D to will the Celtics back from deficit many times. He leads by example and not by hot hand chucking 3s like Tatum. He sets goals each year to improve himself and he did. Do you see players like Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo do that?
Jordan Poole will turn it around and be a good 3rd option on a team.
Not even mad at any of them. Get your bread brothers
It's Tobias Harris.....Tobias Harris is a decent NBA player, however Elton Brand committed front office malpractice letting him get a supermax
Browns contract is be no means good, but it is far from the worst considering how good of a player he has become this season alone
Nba is entertaining and funny at the same time
How could you put 33 year olds Damian Lillard and Paul george after 27 year old JB? Jimmy Butler?
How is Jaylen brown flawed? He’s one of the best 2 way players in the league. If he was a #1 on a team without Tatum, he would have numbers proving he’s worth a big contract. Just cuz he “can’t dribble with his left” doesn’t mean he sucks lol
He is flawed if he wasn’t that would mean he’s perfect. He’s not saying he’s a bad player but definitely not worth 300 million

I think Jaylen Brown's contract is decent. It's a bit of an overpay, but he's a good enough second option to justify it. It's not half as bad as the others on the list.
Why do people pretend they don’t understand how contracts work when it comes to Jaylen brown contract ? Whoever is the last to sign a super max with the full amount of years they can will Always be the most paid because the cap keeps getting bigger- you’re acting as if they chose to pay him more than the other top players - no he just is the latest to sign. Whoever is next eligible will be the next to have the biggest contract assuming they want the full 5 years
Should call this the Jon konkack worst contracts
JB’s contract is great
Jaylen being on here is ridiculous
This take on Jaylen B’s contract is lowkey blasphemous
Jaylen Brown's $304M contract does not qualify as "right now", since it starts next season. And his situation is completely different than the other four. He is healthy, contributing fully, and a current All Star. Hating on this contract requires completely ignoring the 'time value of money', especially in the context of NBA salaries and the salary cap.
He’s still massively overpaid.
I've got a hot take for you guys. Jordan Poole will rebound either in Washington or somewhere else. He's just better than this. Comeback player of the year candidate in '25 if either the stupid Wizards improve or he somehow lands somewhere else. The offense in Washington relies on him way too much, he is forcing shots and getting tired out, then that affecting his defense. Minutes need to be lessened and another scorer on the court with him. But yea hes better than this. The Simmons and LaVine ones though... yikes.
I wouldn't say Jalen Brown's contract is the worst. He's game is there, just needed some push.
are comparing jaylens contract to his dunk contest performance??? thats the only way he should be on this list...hes paid A LOT. but he hooping this year and his team is number 1 in the league
tell me you don't know how NBA contracts work without telling me you don't know how NBA contracts work Jaylen Brown's contract is one of the worst in the NBA
The comments section is wiiild
drop 41 agianst nuggets, 38 against suns, and 25 in a half against warriors. stop hating on jaylen brown yall just mad you didnt get the contract
If you think JB contract is bad you just don't understand the NBA. This offseason the Celtics could trade Jaylen for an absolute Haul. If 30 of the ohter teams in the NBA would take Jaylen and his contract on then it's not a bad contract, a bad contract is when no teams want to take it on and it's a negative assett
Y’all bugging on JB. Mans is playing great.
There are no horrible contracts. Who tf thoughtbit was a good idea to make Jalen Brown the highest paid player in the NBA. Just because they're eligible for the supermax does not mean you have to offer it. Blame the owners.
Wait wait wait wait wait. You just casually dropped that he was a 2nd Team All member but somehow he’s supposed to be alongside these bums? 🤡🤡🤡
Simmons gotta win this one by a mile.
Tobias Harris?
He said no expiring
KAT has to be on that list
Browns contract is horrifying but hey if they win a championship no one will care years from now when it fucks the future up but only if they win one now
So stupid saying jaylen brown 💀 I love ur content but this doesnt make sense at all. Just because Jaylen Brown was the first to sign a big contract doesnt mean anything. Soon all star players will be paid more than that. Anthony Davis has a more yearly expensive contract extension and he will be a lot older when it even kicks in. Maybe cover that
Biggest contract in NBA history for a guy who may never going get an MVP vote and who is barely above average when looking at most advanced stats? Great at basketball, and definitely overrated.
@@Hilltopperpete its not a bad contract the only reason people make a big deal about it is because he was the first to sign a big deal
Jaylen is a good player but they over paid him. They won’t have enough money to keep Jru Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis especially when they know Jason wants a max too
I can't wait to see how ben simmons will perform next season during the final year of his deal. Contract year phenomenon?
no, he's retiring after his contract ends.
Jaylen is an all star and actually produces
As far as I’m concerned, Ben Simmons is a draft bust and was never truly a star player. Not when you’re one of the worst players in the NBA come playoff time. I’ve heard the same things said about Julius Randle (as in he’s not truly a star) and I couldn’t agree more.
