every dog deserves owners like these ladies
I was just about to write this comment
Yes!! They were so lovely and just really wanted to do all they could for their dog but didn’t know what to do for her. And no ego. Willing to take direction. It was fab!!
I had/have a dog like this, she was a failed hunting dog that her owners left tied to a tree and stabbed. She was on the euthanasia list because 'nobody wants a dog they can't even pet'. It's been eight happy years since then and while still skittish, she loves her people and is a big lovebug. Dog abusers are the worst kind of people.
Please tell me the previous owners were arrested… that’s heartbreaking.
That is horrid. I hope she had the happiest life with you (or still does if she’s with you)
I'm sorry. Did you say STABBED!?
i could cry watching this, what lovely people her owners are
I think these are the loveliest dog owners on the show so far. They clearly weren’t aware what they were doing was wrong for Nellie, and clearly wanted to do better. No delusions, or weird beliefs. Just a wholesome family
I loved watching Nellie becoming less nervous and actually feel happiness. Enjoyed this very much.
Super nice to see some lovely owners willing to put in the work.
After 2 1/2 year? Much to late.
@@beautjebeauceron2801 we dont know what they were doing before this was filmed. for all we know they were following the advice of a different trainer and it just wasnt working. we should be thankful they did anything at all, they could have just dumped her back at the shelter
@@beautjebeauceron2801 it's never too late to do the right thing. Victoria coming improved her life vastly.
@@beautjebeauceron2801 You don’t know what they’ve tried…
@@beautjebeauceron2801 No, it is not.
these have to be one of the best owners i have seen so far
Amazing owners, trying to help Nelly instead of bashing her, you can see how much this dog means to them. I'm so glad they can understand her better now. Everyone is just happier.
Such a wholesome video, this is what dog training should be like. Just teaching loving dog parents to understand their dog. They were awesome and Victoria was again so knowledgeable and effective. As much as I love drama and the tumultuous episodes, this one makes me feel so much better. We do really need more positivity these days so thank you so much Victoria!
These are such good dog owners, even though they needed some guidance to steer them in the right direction. Hearing at the very beginning of the episode the mother say that she feels she is lacking in her understanding of dogs as a whole is such great self-awareness. It’s so great to see that she knows she can learn the proper tools to give her dog the life Nellie deserves. Sometimes we get owners who think the dog is the whole problem and that their own behavior has nothing to do with it, so it’s lovely to see the desire to grow and learn in these people. I wish them and Nellie all the best!
This dog won the lottery with kind owners. Victoria did beautiful work helping this dog.
What a wholesome episode. Owners were wonderful which tends to be rare. And seeing Nelly make progress was lovely.
This had to be one of the sweetest episodes EVER
If I called my dog and she didn't immediately come running to me, the amount of stress I would fill up with thinking something happened. These poor gals, I'm so glad they're learning to help her and how she's already improving.
God bless Nelly’s new owners. Such a wonderful family! Poor Nelly, I hope she realizes she’s finally free and loved. She’s so incredibly gorgeous and smart! She looked so happy towards the end❤❤❤❤
This actually brought happy tears to my eyes.😊 As a pet parent myself with a fearful doggo, I can totally understand how heart breaking it is to see our pet in this condition. Am super happy for Nellie and her pet parents ❤ her owners are so sweet and kind I'm sure Nellie will have a happy life going forward
the ending made me cry, she's so cute 🥲
Watching Nellie have the first best day of her life made my tear up a bit. Thank you Victoria.
Such lovely owners and a special, lovely dog. I am glad Victoria was able to help them both. Nellie seemed to love her scent walks! That recall game was so smart, and isn't something I've seen before.
😢😢 Couldn't control tears steaming down when I saw Nellie so changed. Love you Victoria.
I think it’s great that victoria can clearly guide owners to how to best provide for their dogs, because most of the time they don’t know what they’re doing wrong because they just try to make their dog live the best life. In some cases like this Its nobodys “fault”, just miscommunication. Love seeing victoria clear this up!😊
I cried watching this. Poor Nellie being so nervous :( I'm glad Victoria could help the sweet owners read Nellies body language and help build her confidence
Applied the same methods with the help of one of the trainers in France. It worked like magic. I’m amazed to see Suki had the same behaviour and with this method she’s come a long way ❤ Thanks Victoria. I trained both of my Shiba Inu dogs seeing your videos.
Poor Nellie! I'm glad Victoria was able to help her and her owners.
I wish more people were like this family ❤
What a sweet dog and wonderful owners! My first childhood dog was a fearful rescue, took about a year to get her confident and happy, but it was so worth it. She went from terrified of men, flinching if anyone moved too fast, and rolling over to pee herself on meeting people/dogs to an absolute attention loving daddy's girl. She was also a hound mix, funnily enough. Scared dogs like this are so, so worth it. They just need time, patience, and gentle understanding
That dog is so sweet. She already had TLC, but she just needed a bit of structure to help her on her way. Doggies are like children in that way; they want love but also direction. They also want the chance to explore their world. Great teaching by Victoria as always.
These kind ladies did their best, but this dog was showing them and they didn't really know how to listen. I think we sometimes think that showering animals with love is all that is required. They were so happy to see Nelly enjoying her life. Brilliant, Victoria.
The 'dog led walks' are wonderful! I do this with my rescues now.
This episode is THE BEST ONE
Aw Nellie is precious and her owners are lovely. This was great to watch.
Loved this video! No one had terrible behavior just a misunderstanding. Refreshing for a change
It's so sad to see a dog so broken. These ladies are lovely - Nellie is fortunate to have them.
For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕
Such an amazing transformation. The mom and daughter have done their part and followed the instructions for their fur baby.
Omg I could cry. Tysm for helping so many dogs and families along the way!!!!!💙 this poor pooch definitely deserved happiness and has a loving family to care for her
Poor animals man, getting treated badly but then getting the blame.
usually true but these owners r pretty good lol
@@ilovebowlnoodles Thankfully.
And we just keep making more dogs and cats that get put into the system basically it’s a horrible cycle
@@ChampagneKanyon Exactly
If the dog does not have a good recall, why let her of leash?
I’m guessing it’s because they know she’s a hunting dog but didn’t know it’s ok for her to sniff on leash instead of Nelly having to walk alongside them (like most dogs are supposed to be trained to do). I originally wondered the same thing too. The mom also ends up saying that when they RARELY let her off leash. So I’m guessing they learned quick she won’t come back.
I wondered the same thing. My dog’s a runner - I would never let him off the leash.
Probably for the video because it's more interesting to see it then be told
They could easily get one of those 26 foot long leads and let her run around on it with some freedom. There's no excuse for this negligence.
@@mtmockler Not just interesting, it helps the trainer really see the body language that's happening.
That poor dog had such a traumatic past it’s heart breaking 😢 I’m so glad she has loving owners ❤
Clicker training is also a good way of connecting with shy and nervous cats as well. At least, that’s how it worked with a couple cats I know.
she’s got such a sweet, derpy face, i love her!
SHE WAS ABUSED OBVIOUSLY 😢
This was so heartwarming! I'm so happy for Nellie, getting to know what it feels like to be a dog and loved family member!
So glad Nellie has such loving, caring pet parents!!
These two ladies were absolutely great. They just want the best for their pupper and were ready to change their own behaviours to make her every day a better experience and I absolutely adore them for that ❤
This one almost made me cry, what good oweners and a very good doggo!!
Good work from all involved.
Such a sweet episode. Truly enjoyed watching these owners learn how to make their beautiful pup more confident. She’s a Lucky baby to have parents who care and they are lucky to have such a beautiful and super sweet pup. ❤
So heartwarming, Nellie's going to be just fine! I have a rescue that came to us scared and unconfident a lot like Nellie. I learned to interact with her differently than other dogs I've had. These are dogs that really need to trust you'll give them space when they need it, and if you give them that the trust they give you in return is priceless.
I love dogs. I can see the amazing impact you make on their behaviour. Most importantly though you manage to change peoples lives
I'm so glad you were able to help Nelly and her humans!
I'm so happy that she is better❤
This is now my favourite episode
What amazing owners! Nellie feels so much better!❤
Great work Victoria and I appreciate everything you do and my hero inspiration ❤😊❤
She is so adorable and sweetest dog ❤😊❤
This is the best transformation ❤️❤️❤️
I think these are my favorite owners so far, oh my gosh ❤️❤️
What a great story!
Watching Nellie run and sniff with her tail wagging makes my heart explode! I’m so proud of her!
Yay, a new episode!
GREAT episode!!! ♥️🐾🐾♥️
Love your channel ❤❤❤❤
I just love Victoria 🥹
Incredible!!!
I lost my dog almost a year ago, but I raised him with Victoria's tips. He was a Flat coated re4triever. He was the best dog I have ever had but I must admit Victoria's tips I gathered throughout years from her videos were immensely helpful.
Amaaazing ❤❤❤❤
Nellie has grown so much! I am happy that she is happy again!
We have had similar problems with our ftenchie. Actually followed Victoria's advise and he is much better., patience is the golden rule.
Woww well done, both the owners and Victoria. That's an amazing improvement. They can all be very proud. :)
I love Victoria!
We had a Norwegian elkhound puppy my Mom bought from her second owner who for about a month would flatten in terror anytime we went to pet her, but perk up her ears when we did so. We figured out she had been abused before we got her. The previous owner even bragged over the phone that she could "hold her own fighting fir her food" when we questioned why she was guarding the food. Eventually she became attention seeking pooch who would sit on Dad's feet when he got home and REFUSE to move until he pet her.
Very wholesome. ❤
Great video!
I appreciate that these owners want to do what's best for Nellie, but one thing I will say against them is they shouldn't be letting off leash at all since they KNOW she will run away.
Poor dog, my rescue dog acted like that when he was a puppy. He was also on his own in the wilderness. Allowing him to be independent and make his own choices is very important. It's taken about 3.5 years but he's really warmed up to us and is doing great.
This is the so far most useful episode for me. The nervous dog that doesn't want to be touched and doesn't come back. The total loss of brain function when getting scared and then the running home with control only regained once we reach the garden. The nose on the ground for the entire walk. The licking (of carpet in our case). Things have gotten better over the years but on bad days the carpet still gets a licking. And the only times I let her off the leash is in fenced in areas. Pretty much all our walks are her decision when it comes to direction, speed and length. Only when she gets uncertain I take over. And I've accepted that she doesn't enjoy cuddling. It also only happens on her terms. But generally the improvements are visible. It just took a lot of time and patience. And stepping back a bit to give her space on bad days. It took us 9 months for her to sleep in the bedroom. It took 2 years (and 2 dog trainers) for her to walk on shiny floors (she was afraid of slipping and falling). And it also took a few months to get her to like car rides. That one was basically figuring out that she hated being lifted and once I build her a ramp to get into the car by herself, the rides turned to fun.
Lovely!
I can hear Ceasar..you are nurtured her by petting in this state, she can't move forward. 😂Awesome, I did same with getting my new dog who is a first for me for a shutdown dog. Used Victoria technique for not over petting and let him walk away. I will sit on floor next to him but ignore when he cowers, and let him lean when he wants. After a week he now runs to me for petting! Thanks Victoria. ❤
While i do like to see Victoria rip into arrogant stubborn owners, i ALWAYS come back and rewatch episodes with genuine and kind owners who love their dogs and listen in order to help their dog
The best owners 🥲
beautiful
Didn't know seeing a rescue dogs ears flapping around with tongue sticked out sideways would be such a joyus and funny giving scene
I’m confused. I live in the US and so many of these episodes from the UK show owners taking their dogs off leash when their dogs aren’t well trained to come back. Is it normal in the UK for people to take their dogs for a walk that includes time off leash? I know people will do that in the US too but around my house at least, there’s not really an open field for a dog to just take off like these UK dogs tend to do
Thats the hellish way your cities are planned there. A nice park with green areas and benches? Not on my watch, that could be a massive car park.
My dog also licks the wall and is a rescue with a lot of anxiety.
I had a house dog like this. Never let anyone touch her not for scratches not for baths. But as she got older on day she just rolled over for scratches and ever since she will only let you scratch or give her treats.
Oh, wow! ❤❤
this is so sad🤧🤧
Yes, just the best humans, the dog's family.
Nellie is traumatized about something 😢
She can help you with the dog and the dog can get better
Don't forget basset hounds!
Poor baby, who could hurt such a beautiful girl I hate animal cruelty glad she got such sweet owners now.
Hehehehe (Fox and the Hound).... *Pounces on the ground* "I'm a hound dog!" ..... Yes you are Nellie! Yes you are. :)
Edited for punctuation
It's a good sign she hides behind them, that means she trusts you to protect her.
Not really. More like there was nowhere else to go. If she trusted them to protect her then she wouldn't be so timid around them.
@@Eventide215 that's not how dogs work, but you keep telling yourself that. Lacking confidence isn't the same as lacking trust.
Hey goobers... keep the leash on her and the bolting won't be a problem... what's in the water over there in the UK?
I have a fearful 5yo Chihuahua who only ever feels secure with me, with my oldest son, and with his Chihuahua buddy. He will NOT go out without him, and they're both terrified of the leash 🤦♀️ Like, they'll just sit there and cower. It's so difficult with them sometimes, and I have to secure them every time anyone comes over because they behave very defensively. I really don't know what to do with them because they're not motivated with play, toys, or even treats. It's very discouraging because he's such a loveable dog. When he's not acting terrified of his own shadow. And yes, I mean literally. He has genuinely been startled by his shadow 😮
What you have is a cat lol
They aren't bad people they just fell into the bad habit of prioritizing when they want interaction rather than paying attention to when the dog wants interaction.
Why am I crying am I too high?
