  • Glad you are ok! Take it from a career Paramedic. Newer studies have shown that you can have a turnequit on for a considerable period of time before the lack of circulation contributes to a negative outcome. Stopping the bleeding is the priority! Rest up

  • My grandmother grew up in Iowa. She told me that when she was little a neighbor boy who was about 3 somehow fell into the pig pen and was killed (and eaten) by the pigs. Gruesome but true. They can be dangerous.

  • I’m just seeing this & catching up on my KZhead watching! Holy Hannah - I missed a lot! 😱 I am so grateful that you’re going to recover! All I kept thinking was this is why my Grandpa always said to never even *think about* turning your back on ANY intact male or ANY mothers with babies. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, yet so overjoyed you’re okay.❤️❤️

  • I am glad you are OK our family has gone through a very simple event. It was with a steer not a hog but we now make 100 percent sure that when we castrate that we get both testicles. I hope you now know why most farmers remove the I teeth or tusks on a pig. It is not to harm the animal in any way but to help make sure we all go home to our family at night. Love your channel and hope you heal fast

  • There is a public education program called “Stop the Bleed” about tourniquets. They only need to tighten to the point of controlling the bleeding. They don’t need to kill the limb. I’m glad you are in the path to recovery.

  • So glad you're alive and doing well. There are 2 stages in blood stopping. 1st hard direct pressure. If that doesn't work go straight to a tourniquet. Pressure points and elavation are no longer approved methods for hemorrhag control. Tourniquets save lives everyday, study's show there not nearly as bad as we originally thought. They can be on longer than originally expected Its likely that it is what saved your life. I used to be a EMT/ firefighter. Glad response time was 7 min that's above the national average. I have responded to 1 hr calls in urban areas. First aid is important for everyone to know especially if you live in rural areas.

People like you are those who command the forces of death, you are who look death in the face on a daily basis and say 'not today, you will not have this one' The gods among men who truly are changing the world through their power and ability. Just kidding, you are merely a vessel for the lord, praise the lord and life is spared only by his will, nothing you do can ever actually stop someone from dying if the lord willed it so. • I felt very empathetic watching this. I slipped in the mud out by my barn and landed mouth first on a cinder block. It broke my face bone above the top gum line, broke out a tooth, broke two more teeth in half, and chipped many more. I too had to make it to my front door and get to a hospital. Happened in February, I will get two root canals tomorrow, and maybe by the end of the year get some false teeth, all through the VA. Simple life, complicates in a split second. We have to realize the dangers of our simple, safe homesteads, good you made a video about this.

  • Glad you survived! Pigs can be very dangerous as this situation shows. Grandpa taught us boys we never went in with livestock without a stick, mostly it was a 2x4 that sat by the gate. The stick was used to guide and move the livestock but also could be used to knock the sense back into them if they turned on us. a few times we had to get after ornery steers, would not take much of a thump to the nose and they changed their minds quick on what ever bad behavior they had planned. The biggest thing though was to know where the animals were before entering the pen or pasture and keeping an eye on them to know their mood too. We stayed out if they were extra ornery or they were looking for a fight with another member of the herd.

The last training I got (2016) is that they're not as dangerous to the limb as previously thought, if applied correctly, and that they're no longer a last resort. Plus blood loss is no joke. Once your blood pressure gets past a certain point you can go into cardiac arrest/ have organ damage etc.

    • Leonard Greenpaw you are seriously confused and uninformed which is easy to happen when it comes to trying to understand the Bible without some guidance. Though the evil are going to be punished we don’t read hearts as God does so we don’t know who is evil. But God does not bring harm to humans for the most part but instead wants the best for us. Satan however does bring harm to humans in various ways though we in our own imperfection inherited from Adam & Eve after they sinned also just make mistakes JUST BECAUSE WE ARE IMPERFECT! So this man may have made a mistake in judging how safe what he was doing with the boars. It doesn’t mean he was being punished by God or in any way evil and we are told not to judge people so how about you pay attention to that part of your Bible also? He is being helpful to others by sharing what he learned from his mistake. I offer to study the Bible free of charge with those who are interested if you would be interested.

    • @@xanadu1jw Of course, you are one of THOSE people. You dont like the truth I bring so you try to tell me that I am misinformed, because of course YOU have the right information and you know god's will? Satan punishes only those who god allows him to punish. Look at the story of Job, God allowed satan to punish and test him. God's whole promise is to protect us true believers from the torment of the devil. Do you think the devil is ABLE to do anything that god does not want? do you even understand what being all powerful means, God is without equal, that includes the devil, and god is all knowing, the devil cannot hide. If the devil ever did anything against god's will, god would be there to stop it. You have such little faith that you think the devil is not part of god's plan? You have such little faith to think that god would let anything happen to truly innocent believers? mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Do you think the snake is literal? Do you think it a coincidence? The snake they reference is obviously speaking of the same snake from the garden. Even if it was literal, it would surely apply to boars as well. And there are plenty of other passages with the same meaning. It is you who needs to be educated as to the word of god. Stop trying to twist the bible to fit your bias

  • Yikes, I'm so sorry that happened to you, but I'm very glad it wasn't even worse! I'd totally understand if you don't want to keep replaying the situation over and over, but you mentioned that you might do a video on it, and if you do, I'd love to hear what you'd do differently for first aid for severe trauma like that. Slipping with a chainsaw or a deep knife accident are my worst fears on the farm. I have a kit with a tourniquet, Quickclot sponges, and pressure bandage, but I'm worried I'd seize up and forget how to use any of it if something like this happened to me. I'm so happy you are on the mend though!
